Buddy, I have learned so much cause of you and I have been doing graphic design in photoshop for 4 years. I was really good at shadows, lights, smoothing the skin, but I still did learn so much and the results in my case are amazing! The thumbnail pops out so much better.

Great tutorial, thanks! You can actually add a dodge and burn layer like so: Alt-click the New Layer icon in the Layers panel; set the mode to Overlay and check Fill With Overlay-neutral color.
