His thumbnails look like they are generated by an algorithm or AI. They are one of the reasons I never clicked on them and didn't know about the dude before he started doing interviews.
He does that becuase most of the audience of RUclips are under 21 and caters them to a lot

I refuse to click on any thumbnail with an open mouth or dumb expression. Unfortunately, there is an army of millions of kids who impulsively click on any dumb expression, so creators aren't going to stop anytime soon.
That's the whole point. To get the highest Click Through Rate (CTR), and whatever works that's ethical is what they'll use. And it just so happens that having a human face, with an exaggerated open mouth expression, gets the highest clicks. It makes complete sense. They're in the business of monetizing attention through views. You may not click, but you are the exception since there are thousands of others who will click, for your "no click"; 1000:1. And it's not just kids, since it's 100's of millions of views per video. At least half his audience are adults. That's 50 million adults. However, they probably click for other reasons like the money factor.

This is the first time I've even seen him speak. Don't know why I thought he was British. I'm soooo frigging out of touch... I just cringe at his thumbnails and will not click on them. I think it's a me problem, lol

By virtue of him getting millions of clicks within hours of releasing, he has good thumbnails.

I never clicked a mrbeast video until another youtuber i watched mentioned him, saying he was the best youtuber ever. so i checked him out and was like „ah, its the guy with the weird thumbnails“ that was like two years ago and now everybody has the same fucking thumbnails and i just hate them
