The original Unovan dragon could represent reflection in an emotional sense. The titles Black and White represent Yin and Yang, but are also a play on the idea that things are not one side or the other, instead being a gray middle ground. It could represent reflecting on your ideals like N does throughout the story of BW.

The original dragon is made up of a yin and yang dynamic. Those elements could be seen as reflections of each other. I've also heard that the original dragon's makeup has alchemic themes so maybe it represents chemical.

  • @piusyikyu

Although Reflective in alchemy means some thing physical, I am thinking whether it could mean "the reflection of human thoughts". In this case, the original dragons fits into the category.

      Just thought about something.
My theory what if Arceus is the Yolk/Baby/Being inside the egg.
When there was nothing and it cracked.
      And Rayquaza,Kyreum,Zygard,
Necromza,Eternatus and Gen9 Dragon also Future Gen Dragons.
Are the Shell of the Egg for example crack piece or fragments of it that scattered the Universe when the Egg Hatched.
That’s probably why some of those dragons come from deep outer space or hit the earth and fell in a deep slumber.
Or lost their power/item that makes them powerful.
Just what if all those dragons merge with Arceus or transfer their power to reveal the true form of Arceus.
Or if they all transfer their power Arceus might revert back to a egg.
Lol I know I’m all over the place here 😅my bad it just got me thinking 🤔

I think that someone or something is going to upset Arceus. It will justifiably lash out and that will be part of the reason as to why Hisui becomes Sinnoh. It'd also explain why there is little mention of Arceus in the Sinnoh games. Historians either omitted knowledge of Arceus either out of a desire to dig at the pokemon's authority, or out of shame for past transgressions.

@@KrayZ_Kat you can also look at it this way, the lore obtained from the plates in DPPt/BDSP never claims that Giratina was created intentionally by Arceus to hold a specific purpose. Whether or not it was just struck from that story for it’s violence, or it’s role was assumed later is up to interpretation. @Howie Hall: I'm thinking that the Transformations Dialga and Palkia go through might have been them becoming *Possessed* by Giratina - thus the "Origin Forme" Title. If Giratina is indeed a member of this 'Archeus' of Dragons that rival Arceus in power, perhaps its ultimate potential comes from Ghost-like Possession of other powerful Pokémon!
Both Giratina and Eternatus seem to portray the Darker elements of Infinity Energy, too. Both use a modified form of it to overpower Pokémon into a state where it desperately tries to release that energy, making it frenzied and uncontrollable. Giratina's ability to do this is important enough to make it onto the Plate Inscriptions, and is how Volo's been causing the Chaos in the Hisui Region. Giratina's ultimate goal of usurping Arceus' rule over the region required a significantly powerful Pokémon to control as its host in the Physical World, and the direct offshoots of Arceus' Power were ideal for its plans!

I actually made a theory once that Pokemon aren't made of matter, in the same form as humans, but of different types of energy combined in different ratios. And if you could change the energy ratios in pokemon, those pokemon would change to be different species entirely. I think this theory fits super well with all of Pokemon's energy gimmicks as well.

    • @animorph17
      @animorph17 2 года назад +3

That would very reasonably explain why pokemon disapear into motes of light when you drain their energy away, and why they flop without any apparent injuries when exhausted. So long as you don't keep smacking them after they faint, they are apparently immune to actual injury. But if you keep dealing damage beyond that threshold, keep attacking when they're down, then permanent injuries such as broken legs, bleeding wounds, gaping holes in their torso, or strait up death have all been shown. Binging through the anime I was surprised to find out just how much clout the job of the referee is given, and EVERY single instance of a pokemon having serious wounds after a fight have all been battles without a ref.

@@kenneth0334 It's only instant in the games, the one part of the media that makes the least sense and doesn't have to portray a functioning world. In every other media pokemon centers take a day to fully heal the pokemon. The fact that pokemon take time to heal is a plot point, which has repeatedly come up to prevent Ash from winning the championship. There's nothing to say that healing the pokemon doesn't work by simply recharging them, that's entirely plausible. But the centers being instant would not be proof of such if it was the case, and are very obviously not the case, unless you want to exclusively get your evidence from the place where humans can never pass by the insurmountable waist high fence.

Complete Zygard - you can get, kind of. It only really appears in battle under certain conditions.
Ultra Necrozma - gen 8 has no z-crystals and so you can't have this pokemon form from the fused Necrozma. Also this form is battle exclusive as well.
G-Max Eternatus - you can't g-max this pokemon after catching it, thus we can ignore that it's a battle exclusive form too because you can't even get it.

If I may add to the "1000 Arms" aspect of Arceus, what if you were to include a healthy majority of Legendary Pokemon on top of the enigmatic purposes of the Unown. With a few key exceptions like Silvally, Mewtwo, and Genesect, most of the Legendaries are in themselves deified for an aspect that they can govern/manipulate. For example- Lugia for tides and currents, Groudon for landmasses and their formation, Xerneas for life force, Ho-oh for rebirth, Shaymin for beauty and gratitude, and Solgaleo for the Sun for its light and warmth. They could all be beings created by The Original One to govern natural laws and aspects of the Pokemon world as we know it, and as such could all loosely tie back to Arceus itself as its "arms"

However, maybe Eternamax Eternatus is meant to be reflective, since in SwSh, it's stated that Dynamax 'and probably Eternamax) is nothing more than some kind of spacetime warping projection, AKA a reflection of light to make the Pokémon seem bigger. Because I’m pretty sure that the X and Y legendaries are supposed to represent Life and Death. My next thought is on the reflective element. I was thinking that it would be Giratina because he lives in a world literally called “The Reverse World” (Although it is sometimes called the distortion world) Also, in the movie “Giratina and the Sky Warrior” he could only open the portals through reflections.

    I'm really digging Theory #4 and #5
I do think that the myriad of energies involved in various phenomena such as Mega Evolution or Dynamax/Gigamtimax all stems from the same energy.
I however would classify it like this:
@: Primordial Energy or Chaos Energy
Then Primordial/Chaos Energy then warps into one of three possible altered states of expression of that energy which then gives rise to these phenomena:
-Light Energy: Chaos Energy refracted as radiation emitted from Ultra Necrozma which gives Totems their Power and Size, causes the existence of Ultra Space and Ultra Wormholes, which really seem to function more as Pocket Dimensions of Alternate Realities, and of course the Emergence and Prominence of the Z-Move Phenomena in Alola.
-Cosmic Energy: Primordial/Chaos Energy which was distorted by the presence of Eternatus, which allows Power Spots to exist that allow Pokémon to Dynamax or Gigantimax in Galar. Like Light Energy, Cosmic Energy seems to also be responsible for opening up gateways to other dimensions and places as evidenced apparently by the existence of non-galar native legends appearing in the Max Raid Lair.
-Infinity Energy: This is apparently Primordial Energy which has been altered by nature to give and sustain life, thus it is more like Life Essence as was mentioned in this video. Apparently, tapping into this Life Energy is what causes Pokémon to Mega Evolve. Yet this Energy can also be applied to open up Wormholes into Alternate Dimensions as well evidenced by the collaboration of the Mossdeep Space Center and Devon Corporation to solve the Meteor Crisis in ORAS Delta Episode.
The one thing these 3 phenomena have in common is that A: They are altered states of the same Primordial Energy that came from when the Original One came to be and the universe was spawned and B: They all have the Power to open up gateways within the Time-Space Fabric into Alternate Realities and Dimensions.
That's what I can infer from all this anyway, but this is an interesting theory nonetheless.

11:15 - I think the kings that controlled the original dragon were the heroes that controlled Zacian & Zamazenta.
13:55 - I think Palkia represents Life (Water is the staff of life), Dialga represents chemical (Steel is a chemical compound), Giratina represents light (most of its ghost type moves have "Shadow" in the name) & Arceus itself represents reflective (it reflects the type of the plate it holds).

All I want from LA is the same sense of comfort and escape the other games afforded me as a kid. As a 6 year old struggling with severe anxiety, exploring Kanto in Red helped me escape; exploring Johor in Silver distracted 8 year old me from a recent diagnosis of depression and OCD. When I was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa at 16, I picked up Sapphire for the first time in years and being back in Hoenn made me feel safe again. In recent years BOTW - which seems to have possibly been an influence in the development of LA - has given me some relief from worsening depression and helped me escape the four walls of various hospital rooms. If LA can help to lighten the shadows just a little, 29 year old me will be immensely grateful.

    Spoilers….
At the end of the game, after catching every pokemon, you get to face Arceus and if you defeat him, you get a piece of arceus. This suggest that every time you catch an Arceus, you actually get a piece of it instead. This also means that you never actually face Arceus at full power. Just to look at how powerful arceus is at full power. You can face arceus again (which you can use the piece of arceus to fight with), but this time he is at level 100 and the fight is just to stun it for a while, so that you can use Arceus own power, which it lended to you, to fight it. So Arceus is only level 100, if it decide to use a fraction of its power.

I wonder how regional forms actually work. Before this game, I thought they all function on the princible of evolution, like Darwin's finches. After living in an area for a long time and after a lot of random genetic mutation, they assumed a form best suited for that habitat.
But now with H-Decidueye we have a confirmed deviaton from that ruse. As far as I know, Rowlet is not native to Hisuie and it is more or less imported from elsewhere. The player's Rowlet is the only one that undergoes this new evolution because of a new habitat. This is not (darwinistic) evolution. This is adaption. The case of a singular animal learning to cope with a new situation without passing it's genetical information to its decendants. And since it's clear that H-Decidueye has not the same typing as the normal counterpart, this somewhat proves that typings are not completely genetic but can be adapted.
I would say that any Pokemon that evolves from a global form into a regional form could be called adaption, meaning we should be able to trigger that form without the region necessarily being attached. Give Cubone a therapist and it changes from ground-type to fire-ghost. Raise Exeggutor in a greenhouse and it becomes a dragon. Even if it doesn't originate from Alola.

Interesting idea (and kind of good take... especially that I really doubt Pokemon could really become what they are just basing on darwinistic evolution itself, it has to be tied also to the infinity energy-bound nature - which perhaps is the reason why such drastic change are possible as form of adaptation) - especially that I love the idea that some regional form could possible be find in other regions, which are not native to them.

I discovered a very interesting fan theory on Reddit as follows: We all know that Arceus gave life to Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina to govern creation. However, I believe there may be a fourth member of the trio. I'm speaking of the Original Dragon, the form that Kyurem, Reshiram, and Zekrom, once took.
Let's start with the Creation Trio's typings. Dialga is Dragon/Steel, Palkia is Dragon/Water, and Giratina is Dragon/Ghost. The secondary types represent solid, liquid, and gas respectively. The fourth state of matter is plasma, only there's no dragon representing that... but there used to be. Reshiram and Zekrom's Fire and Electric types represent different forms of plasma, right? Add all that heat into one being and you would definitely get a being that represents plasma. If anything, plasma type would make a lot of sense in the Pokemon world as to solve the typing of the origin dragon, being Dragon/Plasma. In my own bias, Plasma does very well at covering many fan ideas for new type additions, such as cosmic, nuclear, sound, light, etc. I just think plasma fits these all really well and really is the missing type in Pokémon.
Now, typing alone wouldn't be enough to place this dragon with the Creation Trio. It would need to have control over some fundamental aspect of reality. And I think that would be energy. Energy is the "why" for why pretty much everything happens in the universe. You have Reshiram and Zekrom, who represent the presence of energy, while Kyurem represents the absence. Sure, there are other types of energy beyond heat, but I can't think of a more fitting symbol of energy than the generators the Tao Trio have for their tails. Maybe the dragon would have an "inactive" mode where its body is frozen, and an "active" mode where the ice is completely gone and plasma surges throughout it.
Something else that may point to it being a god is the concepts they're based off of. Zekrom represents Yin, Reshiram represents Yang, and Kyurem is the circle surrounding the two, Wuji. When Yin and Yang are bound by Wuji, they become [Taiji](en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taiji_(philosophy), and its potential becomes unlimited. In Taoist mythology, Taiji is the "Supreme Ultimate," which is the highest conceivable principle and that from which all existence flows. This ties perfectly into the theme of energy that the Tao Trio has going on.
So we've got that out of the way. But I believe there's more evidence to be found in BW and BW2 to support a connection.
In the postgame of Black and White, you receive the Adamant, Lustrous and Griseous Orb from Ghetsis as a gift/warning. This never went anywhere, but perhaps Game Freak was planning more Sinnoh involvement in BW2 that time restraints/storage space couldn't handle. And this may not mean anything, but it's interesting to note that Ghetsis had control over the Creation Trio in the TCG. It could be another Fake Oak situation, who knows. Dialga, Palkia, Giratina
In the postgame of Black 2 and White 2, the Creation Orbs are found in Dragonspiral Tower, the place where you encounter Reshiram and Zekrom. The game could have placed them in the Cave of Being, or maybe had someone hand them to you elsewhere... But why here, at the location most strongly associated with the Tao Trio?
The Cave of Being. The Lake Trio are capable of restraining a Creation Dragon, and they've got a cavern that leads from Sinnoh directly to Unova.
In the code of BW, Kyurem’s dragon stone is called the God Stone, which definitely confirms your fifth theory and may even place Kyurem as higher than the other elements of Arceus.
As for reflection, I believe it refers to a reflection in philosophical terms, of which Gen 5 goes incredibly in depth with how the parts of the original dragon which split actually represent different philosophies of life.
So that's my general theory. Does it hold up? Does it stretch too much? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

With the reflection part, three Pokes come to mind:
    - Hoppa, a powerful pokemon that can make wormholes in space to connect two universes just like a mirror. Maybe Hoppa has a unknow form and you need another pokemon to do it, maybe one pokemon that we haven't seen. Remember that in his movie, he handled legendaries as if he were a pokemon master... and even Arceus himself had to go down just to correct what he can do in his released form.
-Kyurem, who is said to be the shell or remains of what he was before and also arrived in a meteor, rememeber this last part. Also, i think he lacks something to be able to combine at the same time with Zekrom/Reshiram, as if he was undecided ... maybe he lacks of the soul of the old pokemon ... and I really think that soul that he lack will be Giratina. Let's see. What if the current status of Dialga/Palkia/Giratina depends on each one of the lake trio, with Uxie being the one in charge of Giratina. Being Uxie the pokemon of wisdom, he used his wisdom to divide the powerful "Kyur-atina" with a logical paradox that ended up dividing it between truth and ideals, leaving the empty shell Kyurem and the pure soul without desires and prejudices Giratina. Perhaps that is why the myths refer to him being very aggressive, and it would explain why he was banished even to another dimension to get away from the other parts of him and avoid his reincorporation at all costs. That maybe the part missing of kyurem to fuse correctly, a soul to decide which part to embrace. Also, the original form of Giratina is the only one who looks like a soul without body.
-Giratina, it is said that he is stronger than Dialga/Palkia but for now his power only seems equal to these. Although this one already has another form, maybe it will also receive another form with Arceus/Dialga/Palkia in future games. Also this pokemon was seen in the movies as being able to move between his world and ours using directly... yes, the reflections of things.

As for the first theory... that's really more of and obvious fact than theory. I mean come on, Arceus so clearly ISN'T god.
If he was, then catching him would never be possible (even if the event with him was cancelled it doesn't matter as it WASN'T for lore reasons), such things like the meteorite from the movie or some liquid metal (or whatever that is) could never actually do any damage to him, and he couldn't be just "splitter" into different parts and get "weakened" by giving some of his power. As You can't really divide infinity, neither substracting anything from it would actually change anything. He also couldn't be tricked AT ALL.
I mean any creature which isn't omnipotent and omniscient... that just too less to be called god (I mean already Aristotle (or maybe I confuse him with some other greek philosopher, but it doesn't matter that much) knew that idea of god who isn't omnipotent, omniscient the only one and generally a perfect being, and absolute is just ridiculous and make completely no sense... yeah he wasn't probably very much liked from that assumption as it contradicted all the polytheistic beliefs which were so common these days but he just was right).
So - even considering that Japanese term "kami" (which is usually used as translation of a god) is way weaker than even most politeistic "gods" - Arceus clearly can't be one (also if it would be supposed to be even slightly starting to be a little bit similar to believable then he in-game - assuming max level is 100 - should be at least at 200 level. Or even 10 000 level, yeah I know it most likely wouldn't be good for gameplay and even worse still wouldn't give him justice actually...).
So it's not actually a theory but rather a blatant fact that Arceus isn't even actually near to be a god (as You can be actually near of infinity, as it always will be... infinitely far)
What he CAN be is JUST a most powerful creature (beside actual god), or some kind of god's messenger, and angelic being of sorts who was kinda designated to form the world in god's name (with the help of these 1000 arms, which may have been the Unown) and protect it, but at the same time still was a "regular" creature of finite power (which either then was splitter to some of the other Sinnoh legendares or they were created to help him with his task). Or maybe even he wasn't send by a god...
Also the pokedex entry itself actually saying about SHAPING the world, not creating it.
(And yes I know most legendaries are considered genderless, but it the movie his voice definitely was masculine, so I kinda consider him a male. Especially that he isn't god. And on the other hand referring to Arceus (or any pokemon) as "it" feels just degrading to given pokemon, objectifying "it")
Also the code of the Pokemon World... interesting choose of world. But it wouldn't make sense if pokemon wasn't a game. (I know it is but I don't say it from our perspective but from in-game perspective, from the lore stand point) Except... there is a layer of reality that we could refer to as its source code... (which itself can be more true than we think, considering implications of Copenhagen interpretation of Quantum mechanics...) and unown - when there's more of them - can access and modify this code...
And Eternatus as one of "1000 hands of Arceus"... nah I don't think it's likely (also there's no "godly" Pokemons :P If they were they couldn't be confined or defeated by a mortal).
But eterna max energy being the same what infinity energy... that sounds interesting (even though I don't like the dynamax idea, seems like a cheap rip off megas and Z-moves). I really wish the topic of these energies or different manifestation of the same energy was more developed - especially the anime as this is the part of the franchise I care most about - as it's one of the most interesting concept in the Pokemon franchise. - especially the anime as this is

On the video surrounding Sinnoh legends, I was thinking about the passage where “humans and Pokémon were once the same, married, had children…” and I think it refers to the fact that humans were evolved from pokemon, similar to how people in the real world are evolved from what seems more like the average, unintelligent apes. It would make a lot of sense, and there are a lot of human like pokemon as well.
