    To quote Albert Einstein, “Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. He who understands it, earns it … he who doesn't … pays it.” You definitely want it to be working for you rather than against you in debt! Great explanation! 😊

    Hello professor G! I’ve been following your videos for 9 months now, thank you! I just opened my first Roth IRA, I’m 39, what do you think about 40% SMH, 40% FSELX or FTEC, and 20% JEPQ or SCHD. I know there’s no bonds or Internstional stocks, but I’m aiming for high growth. Is that bad / good / ok idea?

    Nolan , what are your thoughts on SCHB? It’s about 50% of my portfolio.
    Also have a good amount of SCHD, SCHG and some individual dividend stocks.

    Thanks for your videos!! I'm not sure I follow though... If I invest 10k in VOO in 2018, that ETF goes up by 49.64% in the next 2 years... would my initial investment of 10k worth 14.964k in 2020 instead of 15.537k?

    If I have most of my money in SCHD and am 24. What are like 4 ETFs that would be great for me to buy/ look into if I want my wealth to grow and hopefully retire early? I hope you see this to help me out. Thanks ahead of time

      Hey dude, hopefully you can research some stuff that works well for your specific risk tolerance and interests, but I’ll tell you a lot of the data this channel has provided and what I personally have (make your own financial decisions). I’m 24 also fresh out of college.
      “QQQM” for tech growth capitalization NASDQ, “VOO” for capturing the S&P 500, and SCHD is great for dividends. I’ve heard great things about FXAIX for people with Fidelity. Research always, and good luck with finances.

    This video didn’t describe compound interest at all, you literally just showed how averages work.

  • @mollygiovanna1095
    @mollygiovanna1095 23 дня назад +1

    To me this is straight interest. Where is the compounding? Where you earn interest on the interest?

    • @pete5691
      @pete5691 23 дня назад

      If you own a stock that pays dividends which then is reinvested you have more stock. When that stock increases in price you are earning money not only on your original investment but the amount reinvested from the dividend.

      @@appleztoorangesIt’s up to you to decide how much emergency fund you need. However once retired, an emergency fund can really come in handy during stock market declines so that you aren’t selling stock during major declines.

    Here is another question: where does the money that I invest actually go?

    • @pete5691

      It goes to the person who sold you the stock.

    the content is good but I cringe every time professor says something like nineteen.forty five. Numbers after decimal are to be read out each digit separately, like nineteen.four five.
