It's a common misconception that when a stock you buy skyrockets, the smart thing to do is sell it (or at least sell some of it) to lock in your profits. But the context matters. If the stock has increased sharply because the business is performing exceptionally well, it could still be a bargain. I'm still looking for companies to make additions to my $350K portfolio, to boost performance. Here for ideas

I agree that there are strategies that could be put in place for solid gains regardless of economy or market condition, but such executions are usually carried out by investment experts or advisors with experience

A lot of folks downplay the role of advlsors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850k.

Great video, Nolan. One thing I like to note is that markets don’t return 10% annually, consistently. One myth of compounding is that markets compound. They don’t. Some years they are up 24%, the next down 13%. Averages don’t equal compounding. Just something to keep in mind.

I love the Roth IRA since I only make 87k/year. It's my priority to max it out every year. I just love the fact I don't have to pay tax again later when I need to take out the money when I'm retired. Also no RMD and it doesn't count as income. I also have brokerage and 401k can't stop thinking I will have to pay tax later when I need to withdraw it. That alone kinda turned me off, but I still need to invest in it to grow my portfolio. No option there 😅.

    1. FBTC. - Bitcoin ETF. - 50%
    2. WGMi - Bitcoin mining ETF - 25%
    3. MSTR - MicroStrategy stock-25%
Dollar cost average- buy over time- don’t try to time the market.
Very volatile, but chance for very high returns. If you believe it’s better to invest in something that has an absolute maximum of 21,000,000 coins vs. an infinity amount of fiat dollars.

However, we can't pretend that the US is the only super power like it used to be, the economy is still strong, but for how long? There are economies like UAE and India, that can be strong candidates for the future. I prefer to invest in those economies as well.

I've been following your channel for quite a while now and have leant so much, thank you. You were actually the first RUclipsr I came across on the topic of finance, I really like the way you approach this topic and how you deliver your messages. However (sorry), I have to disagree on one thing. I have made some research, reading (3 books) in the past weeks (incl. learning from some of the most successful investors), and they all agree that it is capital even in today's world to diversify internationally and that counting on the fact that US companies are global does not count as geographical diversification. Looking at the history, I totally agree that for the past 10-15 years, US stocks have outperformed the global market. But looking further in history, there were quite a few periods where it was the opposite: 1986, 87, 88, 93, 99, 2002, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 09, 12, 17). Let's say I would find it risky to bet everything on the US as the past has shown otherwise, whatever the reason was, and we cannot predict the future. That being said, I do hope US stocks will continue to perform well. Thanks for all the great content you're sharing with us!

Simplified is better for sure. At one point my IRA had more securities than some funds do. It's too hard to stay on top of that many positions while I'm working full time. I've bushwhacked it down to about 6 stocks, and about 10 ETFs. I plan to reduce that to about 3-4 stocks, and around 5 ETFS in the next year. Much less stressful.

Can you talk about VOO and FXAIX in term of tax-efficient the brokerage account? Certain websites mention that ETF is more tax efficient than FXAIX mutual fund from Fidelity. However, FXAIX pays out capital gains that trigger more taxes than VOO. Which one has better tax efficient?

Professor G- wow what a good video!!! Can you make another video in detail about portfolio allocations? For ex.. having both a Roth IRA and Brokage account- what would each portfolio look like in terms of taxes? Should more growth go in a Roth IRA since its tax free? Should SCHD and dividend income go in a brokerage account or roth ira?

Wow! This was a good one! I would love to know your take on the most tax-efficient strategies to take out the 4% from investments! Retirement is only 4 years away! In other words - where should I be stock piling now to make it most tax efficient later to take out? Video please 🙂

Great videos. I've subscribed since I want to put some money in some fast growing, then sell and put back into safety since I'm already 69, but have played it safe all my life. So, I have some in my IRA, but want more security.
BTW, what kind if dog is your sidekick. So cute!
