When the student is ready, the teacher will appear. I've listened to Professor G in the past, but some of this info didn't settle in until I came back to Professor G months later. Thanks for the great videos.
It's a common misconception that when a stock you buy skyrockets, the smart thing to do is sell it (or at least sell some of it) to lock in your profits. But the context matters. If the stock has increased sharply because the business is performing exceptionally well, it could still be a bargain. I'm still looking for companies to make additions to my $350K portfolio, to boost performance. Here for ideas
I agree that there are strategies that could be put in place for solid gains regardless of economy or market condition, but such executions are usually carried out by investment experts or advisors with experience
A lot of folks downplay the role of advlsors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850k.
This is definitely considerable! think you could suggest any professional/advisors i can get on the phone with? I'm in dire need of proper portfolio allocation.

What an awesome crash course full of investing knowledge. Thanks Professor G! Getting started is half the battle, this will certainly help most overcome the fear and uncertainty. You truly do make investing.... simplified!
I really appreciate the time you take to help me keep it simple. Your videos keep it short and sweet and the guidance helps me focus better on the long vision. Keep them coming!

Just invested my first 20 into NOBL and did a Roth IRA another 20 and let Robinhood choose what it got allocated to. I’m excited to keep putting money in and hopefully watching it grow. And your channel has helped me a lot
Great video, Nolan. One thing I like to note is that markets don’t return 10% annually, consistently. One myth of compounding is that markets compound. They don’t. Some years they are up 24%, the next down 13%. Averages don’t equal compounding. Just something to keep in mind.
this video is immensely useful. I was recently looking into contributing to a traditional Ira alongside my Roth until I learned that your maximum contribution applies between both. that was very helpful. I wish my friends and family would watch this and stop being intimidated by the market.
I love the Roth IRA since I only make 87k/year. It's my priority to max it out every year. I just love the fact I don't have to pay tax again later when I need to take out the money when I'm retired. Also no RMD and it doesn't count as income. I also have brokerage and 401k can't stop thinking I will have to pay tax later when I need to withdraw it. That alone kinda turned me off, but I still need to invest in it to grow my portfolio. No option there 😅.
Nice Work Professor, you are doing a great job . Your content is really good and easy to follow , you speak very clearly and make it so even a layman can understand all of it . i have been watching all your videos and will be following this strategy. I have been doing my own investment since 1985. I agree with you Mr G if someone needs to pick an investment video to watch this one would be a very good choice. If you believe it’s better to invest in something that has an absolute maximum of 21,000,000 coins vs. an infinity amount of fiat dollars.
Great video, I only have to say, I prefer to diversify away from the US. Even though I invest heavily in the S&P 500 and US stocks. However, we can't pretend that the US is the only super power like it used to be, the economy is still strong, but for how long? There are economies like UAE and India, that can be strong candidates for the future. I prefer to invest in those economies as well.
Hello Prof G, this is a great video. I have been investing for awhile through my 401k and a brokerage account now and learned some things myself. Thanks for sharing!
I've been following your channel for quite a while now and have leant so much, thank you. You were actually the first RUclipsr I came across on the topic of finance, I really like the way you approach this topic and how you deliver your messages. I have made some research, reading (3 books) in the past weeks (incl. learning from some of the most successful investors), and they all agree that it is capital even in today's world to diversify internationally and that counting on the fact that US companies are global does not count as geographical diversification. Looking at the history, I totally agree that for the past 10-15 years, US stocks have outperformed the global market. But looking further in history, there were quite a few periods where it was the opposite: 1986, 87, 88, 93, 99, 2002, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 09, 12, 17). Let's say I would find it risky to bet everything on the US as the past has shown otherwise, whatever the reason was, and we cannot predict the future. That being said, I do hope US stocks will continue to perform well. Thanks for all the great content you're sharing with us!
