Metroidvania explanation idea: the wizard used to have a bunch of sick gear and gadgets, but kept dropping and losing them around the area and thus was able to reach fewer and fewer places with what he still had
I like this idea. Imagine it was implemented in an actual game as lore. Maybe he would be a secret final boss if you can get all of the gear in the game, where he'd take all your items leaving you with the most basic gear and you have to fight him while he uses all the weapons and abilities you had found in your adventure
@@JustusLynetta I thought about that, though to be fair that fight usually doesn't last very long. It's a scary moment, but it doesn't really change the boss's moveset at all. Little did the hero care, that the reason he wasn't given the sword was because it is a crutch. Now instead of honing his skills and learning how to actually survive. He just uses an OP weapon which let's him get farther then he should, before being absolutely curb stomped by the end game. Since the weapon that was so OP in the early game, is now as effective as the knife was in the start by end game.
Maybe dodge rolling is impossible for most players and he never will be able to ever get any better than he already is no matter what weapon he has. Getting better gear is the only hope he has.
I used to think rogue games are the best genres. Sense of achievement from my own experience? Infinite gameplay! Then I realized I suck at games and need gears to get better.
