    This video is a lot bigger than usual, this boat trip featured so much and we still didn't include every place that we visited. Easily one of the best boat trips we have ever done!

    First travalled to Burma back in 1983. Only 7 day visa allowed back then.No new cars or buildings back in those days. Maymyo is a neat hilltown near mandalay worth visiting. Always wanted to see the handing golden Rock at Kyaiktiyo Pagoda. Pagan is amazing.You guys are the best!!

    Wow, such an interesting video, and the area is so very beautiful. It's interesting to see how people live and work in the Inle Lake area, and it's refreshing to see the "raw" (your term I think?) beauty of the boats, houses and markets -- and all without commercial signs and billboards. I'm intrigued by those spots where there are so many small Buddhist temples (pagodas?) grouped together. You've shown this in a few of your videos. That spot where there were a thousand or so, you thought, of those little temples/pagodas was especially intriguing. Do you know why they build so many so close together? I wonder if each one represents, or maybe pays homage to, something different?

    I keep itineraries for various countries I'd like to visit including Myanmar. Inle Lake was an "if I have time" location until I watched your video. This tour was amazing, particularly Indein. It moves to the top of the list right under Bagan. Thanks for the extended look at the area. You guys have a great channel.

    The "sea of pagodas" is a wonder!!! 🤩Is it a place of worship? What was the grassy area called in the water? Why were they burning? Also, this place reminded me of waterworld, kudos to the people who live there! The birds flying woulda been an awesome slo-mo effect in the iPhone 🤟

    • @thekingminn
      @thekingminn 4 года назад

      those grassy areas are floating graders that usually grow tomatoes and other vegetables. They were burning the plants at the end of the growing season so that it turns in to fertilizer for new plants.

    Your saying the place with a thousand pagodas (maybe they’re stupas like someone else said) was like a pagoda graveyard made me wonder whether it in fact is a cemetery of sorts ... maybe? Great video and the drone shots gave good perspective. Now I have to look up where Inle Lake is on a map.

    • @thekingminn
      @thekingminn 4 года назад

      I'm from Myanmar and the answer to your question is no it was not a cemetery. It is a shan style Pagodas similar to ones in Chaing Mai.

    The hundred constructions you called pagodas, are more often referred as to stupas or chedis. They often, but not always, contain or represent a dead person, like a grave in western world.

    You will go nuts for Bagan. Huge problem with illegal construction around the lakes edge. The lake is slowly being swallowed up by it. They aren't pagodas they are called stupas. The jumping cats was a total scam.

    • @shaunamcclendon1147
      @shaunamcclendon1147 4 года назад

      Pagodas are derived from "stupas" from ancient India. They are sometimes cone shaped buildings or brick towers that are built specifically to commemorate buddha.
