The 16bit depth of raw files is very useful for adjusting the dynamic range. The previous GFX 50S and GFX 50R are offering only 14bit raw files. The 16bit raw files is very common with most medium format sensors.
Many GFX100S videos popping out, but I wanted to watch yours :). Love it. The GFX100S is a masterpiece. How far Fuji came in two years, unbelievable. And it does not look so chunky as GFX100, GFX50S and even the GFX50R did.
Electronic shutter with flash, flicker prevention, and mechanical shutter with 1/400s sync speed "isn't anything new"? I think the GFX100s is amazing, but the a1 is also a big improvement compared to existing technology.
@@shang-hsienyang1284 they’ve had the flicker free electronic shutter for years now, also black out free. The flash sync is decent for people who use flash, but let’s look at what isn’t great. Worse mechanical shutter than the r5, same bad ergos, same bad ibis, matches the video spec of the r5, horrible lcd screen that only goes one direction. They basically took 3 cameras that they already had out for a couple years, and are charging 3k usd more than the r5, it is not at all worth it. This camera is revolutionary on the size and technology they are packing in here, 6 stop ibis on a medium format sensor? Unmatched image quality and it costs $500 less than the a1? The best part about the a1 is that if you’re going in the Sony eco system, you don’t have to buy one camera for video and one for stills, you can use the a1 for both. The only thing they’ve added is 10fps electronic and the flash sync speed. The electronic isn’t even completely flicker free or warp free, it’s just less of a chance of it.
@@RiposteThis They never had flicker free shutter until now. The a9II requires mechanical shutter to avoid flicker. The "bad ergo" is good ergo for my hands. The IBIS+electronic stabilization is great if you are willing to use 1.1x crop. Nobody likes the LCD and I wonder why it's still that low res nonsense from 2015, but the EVF is great, unlike the GFX100s. But unlike you I can look past some cost savings. I don't know how "1/400s sync speed" is somehow "worse" than "1/250s sync speed" of the R5, and the a1 can shoot flash with electronic shutter at 30fps. You can't get any warp even with the original 2017 a9 even if you point your camera at a fast moving train, so your argument that "less chance" is sheer nonsense. But hey, I guess you hate Sony, so you're clouded your judgement by your hate. I love Canon, Fujifilm, and Sony simultaneously, so I get to enjoy the best all three companies could offer (though the downside is that it is impossible for me to fit all my lenses on all my camera bodies)
Lok is stuck in Hong Kong tho' which is probably not that comfortable a gig with the Chinese Government liable to ship protestors out to some remote collective farm at the drop of a hat.
Lol at the G-Shock Casio watch comment! I think somehow a mix between this and the XT4 would be my perfect camera. I guess that’s asking for a full frame sensor and focus on video 😆 that’s a Sony.
The light shutter button was a complaint I had when trying out the X-H1 in store when that came out - hope they'll make it heavier here before release still; I really loved how it was on the X-T bodies.
Fuji said they will never do full frame because they’re such a front runner with medium format that their medium format will soon be the new full frame.
I love the shape of my 50s haha. I think 100mp is serious overkill for even professional, so I’m glad I got m6 50s for 40% cheaper than this. Only thing I’m really envious of is the ibis.
I’d love to try any Fuji camera really. Sadly I ain’t got the RUclips audience nor funds to buy all the stuff I’d love to have. Till then I’ll just enjoy the “first Lok” and dream lol
Interestingly enough, the ursa 12k has more horizontal pixels than even any medium format stills camera. The fuji gfx 100, a 102MP stills camera (which can also record 4k video) has 11.6k horizintal pixels, because stills cameras (especially medium format) have much squarer aspect ratios. So despite the horizontal pixels being less than 12k, the total resolution is more.
I've got the GFX100 and it's batteries last about 20 min. in 34 degree weather. I have a hard time thinking 1 battery is enough to power this camera for any realistic period of time during cold weather usage.
3:54 It's taken them years to understand that they'll probably sell more cameras if they make a comfortable grip and let the camera behave like a DLSR regarding a mode with with a front and rear dial for quickly controlling things like exposure comp and aperture (which is faster on a front/rear dial than moving the aperture ring which often accidentally gets moved when you reposition the camera). I like the appearance of a camera like the X-Pro series and the X-T series (I've owned both), but a nice grip and DSLR style controls is much more practical. Now they just need to get rid of the X-Trans on their APS-C bodies and they'll be all set.
Sony alpha 1 is the more usable one, that autofocus and tracking are out of this world. I believe this gfx IQ will be much better than the a1. Wish I can get both😗
Any size sensor above full frames can be called medium format. It looks a great camera and according to another youtuber. one with a bald head, the image quality is great.
Wow. What is medium format for, anyways? Other than the cost, this makes medium format almost a matter of choice; you no longer have to choose between carrying and a huge box.
That’s the thing, would you do that to a Hasselblad X1D? This 100S could be so down to earth you can take it anywhere, and people would think you just have a normal mirrorless~
The Panasonic was DOA. Heavy, ugly, looks like it was made of legos. If they have cameras in minecraft, it would look like the Panasonic. Even if they drop it to 50% now, nobody will buy it.
Hi, loved this! and thanks. However, please slow down, as I found you very difficult to understand. No, "English", is not your "Mother tongue", and I do not speak "Japanese", respect! But please, "Slow down". Very good "Info".
I love how passionate Lok is when it comes to the GFX families

This is "end game camera" class.
This comment will age well, I'm sure ;)
@@PrinceMeowmers we might as well buy it if we're gonna watch this many reviews on it. lol
Outstanding. Fuji is being very consumer friendly and not holding back features to protect other product lines like a certain brand
This camera is going to be very popular! The leadership at Fujifilm has made another bold move with this camera. Long live Fugifilm!
Thank you Lok! Pretty pumped for this camera!
Long-time complainers: without a full frame option Fuji are dead
Fujifilm: our plan was this; for a similar price, why even bother
Always good to see you Loc
"Hands-on first Lok" Lok first!!
I know Sony has a lot of hype right now by releasing a camera that isn't really anything new for them, but this is a real good camera announcement.

This camera really remind me of the x-h1 witch was my first digital camera. And this medium format is my long term dream
Excellent review Lok! Thank you.
Nicely graded with Filmconvert Nitrate, Lok 👍🏼 看起来棒极了
Looks like its the best GFX yet...
Thank U Lok. U are the first one mentioning that too light to touch shutter button.
It’s snowing here, a lot. I was shooting landscape in the forest with my xt-4 ....I need this camera.
oh man thank you for this review. i dont have this cam now but i love this beauty !!!
It's 5* stops of ibis. 6* when used with a stabilized lens!
Is it so? Than it wouldn't be IBIS.
@@Nearest_Neighbor lol
Great camera. Thanks to this announcement I was able to get a 50s with grip for cheap for half the price. Felt like my old xt2 which I missed so much.
your videos really still have the old digrev tv vibe to them. in contrast, kai has to film out of his apartment xD
Lok is stuck in Hong Kong tho' which is probably not that comfortable a gig with the Chinese Government liable to ship protestors out to some remote collective farm at the drop of a hat.

As a Canon shooter i can only say:Amazing camera. 😍😍
Fujifilm have perfected the craft. This with the new 80mm F1.7 is just perfection.
Fujifilm needs to build a full frame X100 with a dedicated ISO dial
I hope they build an x100 with their GFX sensor. I think that would be more likely to happen.
Fuji said they will never do full frame because they’re such a front runner with medium format that their medium format will soon be the new full frame.
This is a really practical medium format camera.
LOL
Finally Tsuen Wan featured in Lok’s video
i am hopeful that when the 50R upgrade is due Fuji will bring back the shutter/exp dials back.

I have some cameras I’d like to try too. Maybe we should rent them and just make it happen?
@@BrendanEvan eventually I’d probably get around to rent a body and lens, just to dabble and see what you get in medium format land.
I wish I were rich :(

I love this camera so much. Pricing for Sony A1 now seems ridiculous. Although both cameras have their place.

Hi Lok, thanks for the review. How is the camera for spectacle wearers?
Is there a GFX100R coming ?
I always enjoy your content, even if I can't understand a word you're saying.
Hello, it seems that you deleted a camera review video. I can't find it.
I think it was a Fujifilm.
Thanks for the quick review Lok. One question, does it use pixel binning or line skipping for 4k video?
Sony alpha 1 is the more usable one, that autofocus and tracking are out of this world. I believe this gfx IQ will be much better than the a1. Wish I can get both😗
Any size sensor above full frames can be called medium format. It looks a great camera and according to another youtuber. one with a bald head, the image quality is great.
Wow that thing is tiny I have the panasonic s5 and I would definitely move up to a medium size frame with all-i 4k wow!!!
May i ask - how many are the megabytes when you are in crop mode?
Wow. What is medium format for, anyways? Other than the cost, this makes medium format almost a matter of choice; you no longer have to choose between carrying and a huge box.
Nice preview
Looks so much like a medium format X-H1. Just an X-H1 on steroids.
This sensor size is basically equivalent to 127 film... Basically the aps-c of MF :D
Will this drop the value of the GFX100?
What was the lens?
Lok, does it have back-button focus option?
Yes it does
I started with a 12MP Nikon D700...
Just a few years ago...
Hmmm, I was planning on going cannon... but now...
Which country it is cheap to buy Fujifilm gfx 100s? in Japan or In USA?
What is the Price in Japan can you please tell?
Did anyone else wonder where Lok was going at 09:54 ? lol
Please a review of the x-e4
Cool.. Its a X-H1, as a full frame. What's not to love.
....More than full frame. Medium format
Very exciting camera. My wallet is not ready though
It's made in Japan or china like xt-4 ??
It’s made in Japan
I want that camera so damm bad
god if only I could get it :(
EF mount ?
🤯 that’s all I have to say
Oh Fujifilm lent me a $6500 camera? Let me casually put it on a random stacked foam box in the middle of a wet market lol
That’s the thing, would you do that to a Hasselblad X1D? This 100S could be so down to earth you can take it anywhere, and people would think you just have a normal mirrorless~
$7K+ with the lens?? I think I’m good with my 5D classic & 40mm 2.8 :)
Your S5 looks better :) Even better autofocus lol.
The search for the perfect camera is over pal.
Lok needs to change his YT name to LapCheung~
It's sooo nice. Ugh. *bites fist*
First to view it so cool.
Micro HDMI. SMDH there's a reason why no one takes Fuji seriously for video.
Uncle Roger @mrnigelng should collab with Lok to review tech. 😆
Looks about the size of a brick! small?
