    Thank you for naming all of the parts as you reassemble the movement. Very few will do that.

    You cleaned the parts excellent. But after refitting the mainspring in the barrel, the lid has been dirty. It could have been cleaned with rodico before the assembly.

    I have this movement, but no longer works. Mainspring work, click and reduction and crown wheel works, and can be wound. But stuck at train wheel and escape wheel.

      @@magicofwheels how many times you picked up a watch part with a pair of tweezers and it goes flying into the watch part abyss and you cannot find it for nothing before you know it you're on your hands and knees with a magnet you can't find it for nothing my life has been hell lolz 😂🙄 I hate my life... 😂😂

      @@donnyalvarez7 Hahaha, I remember once the cap jewel flew off my tweezers and I spent more than an hour finding. I was so frustrated because normally I would hear something dropped and that was how I knew where about to look for. That case I heard nothing. I was about to give up and I ran my hands across my hair facing down my workbench feeing despair. The jewel dropped from my hair. 😀

      Ebay can be a very good source.
      This steps
      1 Search for the dial and hands that fit the movement (important to mention the movement series such as Miyota 2805)
      2 search for the case mention the movement too. (normally comes with crystal and gasket). Important to see the case that fits the diameter of the dial. It should be stated on the item description.

    I notice the way you oil the balance jewel is different than usual. And when installing the balance cap jewel we have to slide it in and rotate it, I wonder would that disturb the oil?

    • @magicofwheels
      @magicofwheels  3 года назад +1

      there are many possibilities. If you can show me video that would help a lot. however you need to check
      1. Mainspring, if it is in good condition. Can it be wound up?
      2. pallet fork. Check if the staff still good.
      3. balance wheel, check if the staff still good, impluse jewel is centered.
      hope those points help. :)

      at 5th year the lubribation starts to degrade at 10th year you should notice some abnormality.

      @@magicofwheels Thank you! I checked the moebious oil chart and according to it u can oil an entire movement with just d5 and 8000. i just ordered those two. Do you think that's fine? i also bought those 2 only since i wont even use up them before they expire so it feels kind of wasteful to buy like 6 oils

    • @magicofwheels
      @magicofwheels  4 года назад +1

      @@alfredenglund
      To me, the answer is yes for better performance because each wheels has difference torque or pressure. For example, metal rubbing with rubby, metal rubbing with metal in circular motion and linear motion, each oil or grease has it own density which suitable for each specific area.
      Also, yes it is a waste for a hobbyist like me, I never use up all the oils. However, I think the feeling of doing this hobby to the highest standard that I could reach and perfirmance of the watch after service trade that off.
      Apart from quality tools, now we all know why the cost of service is skyhigh.
