Hi Alan. I'm Hamiht. I too am blind. Yeah finally these things are accessible. Took them long enough. Still thanks Zoom. I'm wandering if I should cell off my 2018 H6 and though I just bought it last summer the H8. People are already trashing these new recorders. I'll skip the sightd relevent trashing. But people are saying the guts are the same as the originals. So they aren't as quiet as they should be. Darck Corner Studios is saying skip theee.

Look at all the unanswered questions here and understand what kind of company Zoom is.
Most "apple only" manufacturers are pompous and just don't care about their customers.

How long before it boots up? I have the older model H4n, takes like 20 seconds or so before recording option pops up.
I'll hold out or purchase something else waiting for android compatibility.
Can any one say how does it feel the plastic body?, good or bad quality plastic?, in the videos look very very plastique
They removed my comment that was pointing out the same thing. It's cheap looking plasticky crap.

I can’t figure out how to get kind to work ):. It saids no SD card and Iv bought 2 and put them in and still it won’t record.
Does the x/y mic capsule record at 90 degrees or 120 degrees?
Does the 3.5mm port allow for 32bit recording as well?

Yes, I use the Zoom H4 essential mics together with two ribbon mics placed in a Blumlein array to record my jazz combo. That's fantastic!

Why does the build quality looks worse than my original Zoom H4n ? Also make better battery lids and don't place the damn thing right next to the screw mount in the back, I would like to leave there a Manfrotto 323 plate there, but this way i can no longer access the battery compartment! My H6 suffers from the same problem
Are the guitar preamps the same as in the H4n Pro? And does the H6 Essential have this feature too?
We need some collar mic or wireless mic from zoom please

Has this model still got the metronome?
This would be perfect if you could remove the mic capsule like on the H5 and the new H6.

Record in mp3 @320 while using battery power? The previous model H4n pro could not.
Somehow it looks more plasticky and uglier then the H4n Pro

Built-in FX is trash anyway so it was a good choice if they removed it
Downgrade in terms of built-in microphones. On H4n pro microphones could be adjusted to 90 and 120 degrees, but here they are fixed. And H4n pro microphones can hardly withstand a sound pressure of 140 decibels, but here it’s only 130.
