I love the not so subtle undertones where "Uncles Day" is clearly Phoebe's replacement for "Fathers Day", which clearly shows how Phoebe thinks of Roy.
I love Phoebe. Her scenes with Roy are so sweet and lol funny at the same time. It also adds a different element to Roy as a character. Also, this actress is ON POINT with her acting and facial expressions
I think my favourite part of this is that Jamie said yes to the invite. I don't know how he received it, but that fact that he turned up to this silly little family thing, gift and all, is both heartwarming and hilarious
Everything in the last season was underwhelming compared to rest of the serie. Except Roy-Jamie relation. That was the only reediming arc of the whole season.
Jamie is crowning when he heard that Roy talks a lot about him. And i love that he brought a proper gift guft, and paid Roys niece money for swearing. All of which he didn't have to
Yeah the moment were he has a talk with pheobe to not swear like he does and him questioning if he's a good influence on her was both so Cute and so heartbreaking. You could see Roy really realizes how much Pheobe looks up to him and how Roy doesn't see that he's actually an incredibly good Uncle and person.
I really like that Jamie realizes the Roy is not comfortable with the level of intimacy of saying he loves it (but says it anyway), and Jamie gives him an out by calling his sister fit. Knowing it puts Roy back on familiar ground of being the antagonist.
I know Jamie goes through A LOT of emotional and personal growth through the series but I think this is giving him a bit too much credit...and Dr. Kent IS fit.
I love how it looks like he hates the shirt, but he then wears it at the training ground the next day, showing that he isn’t just wearing it to please Phoebe because she’s not around to see iy
I've watched this clip so many times it's insane and yet I only just noticed the careful little pat Roy gives the jersey as he puts it back in the box and I want to scream he's so ADORABLE 1:53
And to think, Phoebe was supposed to be a one&done but she did so well, was so well received by the audience, and had such good chemistry with Roy that we got moments like this. 😁
This scene is gold. Everyone is perfection and it's impossible to pick an MVP. I'm brought undone EVERY TIME at that flirty "Hello Uncle Roy" that Jamie says as he sits down. Priceless, as is the goofy, excited little smirk Jamie has after Roy has (unsuccessfully) denied that Jamie is his friend. And Roy's indignation when Jamie says that Isaac is his BF...lol. But possibly my favourite part is the way Jamie's facial expressions shift after Roy opens his gift - Phil Dunster is SO good. Without a word, you can see him go from hope, to fear, to relief and even a bit of goofy happiness that Roy loved his jersey. These guys are the love story that should have been allowed to happen and I'm always going to be annoyed that it didn't.

there's a reality where Jamie ends up with Roy's sister, and Roy in turn handles Keeley better and they get back together, and I achieve maximum happiness from this show
You are spot on. Roy has been the father figure for Phoebe much of her life. To Roy the only one who could fill that void is someone he trusts and respects. Jaime.
@@Megan-ew5dpI mean the season finale in my opinion left the story open for a possible spin off series, won't be the same without Ted but I do see it possible
Seriously, this HAS to be one of the MOST perfect scenes in television history! EVERY reason why has been expressed in this thread. Perfectly acted - not hammy, not understated. Facials were utter perfection. Even Phoebe delivered her facial and mouth expressions to 100 on a scale of 10. Exchanges were platinum - this scene alone was worth two Emmy's. The writing was 50 shades brighter than brilliant. I watch it over and over, NEVER tire of its perfection. In a series of a million million-dollar moments, this is my crown jewel. Simply other-worldly!
Another extraordinary scene. In past episodes, Roy would’ve told Jamie to….well, let’s just say he’d owe his niece some money. But here, after some self-discovery, tells Jamie that he loves the gift. The funniest bit is when he tells his niece to “bill me” for the penalty!
I was about to say the amount of times that Roy Kent curses in front of Phoebe. You could collect all that money it would probably pay for her school lol 😂
There are a plethora of shows out there with one-note characters and simple-minded dialogue. There are a lot of shows that start out great and slowly decline as the seasons go on, but every now and then, perfection comes along and you want it to go on forever. Ted Lasso is that lightning in a bottle show that has a flawless blend of drama and humor. I could watch it forever and never get tired of it. Brilliant writing and a phenomenal f'n cast. This scene is a culmination of Jaime’s arc. The look they share without saying it. Roy says I see who you were always meant to be. Jaime’s says I always wanted to be you.
In my opinion, I'd love to see Jamie get with Roy's sister and Roy get back with Keeley :) Then they could be one big happy family. And honestly, seeing Roy's response to Jamie dating/purposing/marrying his sister would be A+ television
For two incredibly….INCREDIBLY horrifying moments I read “Roy’s sister” as “Roy’s niece” and I want you to know that the relief I felt when realizing my mistake can never be paralleled
