This show is so damned good and a slap in the face to people who claim wholesome characters can't be interesting.
It's been many, many, many, many years since we got anything wholesome on television. They could have easily made this politically divisive for bonus brownie points, but they didn't. We need more positive shows like this that bring everyone together.

Nobody is talking about Dani Rojas. He was positive too, it honestly made me feel uncomfortable, it's like watching a grown-up adult that never stopped being a kid full of optimism. I hate that he inspires me. He is such a wholesome dude, Heck, a wholesome show in general. "You say it, I do it coach" with that smile on his face

I actually didn’t like season 2 in general. It was bit slow but I enjoyed the last few episodes of the season.
When I saw first episode I didn’t expect it became this good

I mean, there were signs in the first season, like his speech shitting on all the players. Nate has always been a tiny man waiting for his chance to be the bully.
Ted Lasso is like if you're hugging someone while laughing and crying at the same time. But, mostly laughing.

@@LennyNero2019 It's not crap but nothing suits everyone. Not saying it's a masterpiece either. Most that watch it agrees that it makes you feel good though. No matter if they think the show is just ok or end up loving it. So if that's not your thing go ahead and stay away.
Im loving how the movie recognizes Nigerian/African players. They have been a major part of the european football league, so its nice to see them having the spotlight

I can’t get over how quickly I fell in love/obsession with this show.
THIS IS SOOOO TRUE. IT REALLY WAS THE RIGHT SHOW AT THE RIGHT TIME. LET'S HOPE THE NEW SEASONS KEEP THE SAME VIBE.
since they directly reference it, I also HIGHLY recommend Mythic Quest to anyone who hasn't already gone done that road yet. I just did both seasons in about a week and am genuinely depressed there's no more. It's a fantastic show with way more depth and heart to it than you might think would be there.
Right??? One episode and I was signed, sealed, delivered. Love it so much, it just makes me feel so good, we needed a show like this.

I laughed so hard at that. We're not world beaters at much, but damn we Brits can moan with the best of them. Key is to moan creatively and in a funny way, it actually makes a lot of horrible stuff bearable. We're very good with just getting on through adversity because it's basically indoctrinated into you that where you live is crap from the time you're a small child 😂
This show has legitimate helped me develop into a more positive person, so that “streaming services are cheaper than therapy” line really hits home. This is one of the few shows I would happily rewatch a hundred times.

@@tom4150 if you think about it, his answer that he didn't care for it was probably honest. He probably stopped liking it after his dad killed himself. Doesn't mean he's not good at it. He just let Rupert make that assumption and think Ted was a gullible idiot.
Season two addresses a lot of the stuff mentioned here about the secondary characters/their development and the actual depths of Ted’s character!!!
Yeah. You knew we were going to find out some rough stuff in Ted’s backstory when he reacted the way he did to a therapist.

@@7srchoed Still, Nate change of heart is understandable. He was in the dark and cold night, then suddenly a Sun shine on him with warm and love (TED) so much that he became 100% dependent of him. So when he realize that Ted loves everyone and not just him... he just crumble. And then Rupert take his chance to manipulate him to become the "villain".
My new motivation in life is not doing something that would disappoint Coach Lasso.
This comedy drama easily is now in my top 3 of all time. No wasted time on filler or anything. Very likeable and interesting characters. It's got a little bit of everything.

@@eddymannylow8216 Seems like I do to. I agree. It's a solid show, very economical in it's storytelling so that when it draws out a scene it's for effect in the story. The cast has surprisingly great comedic timing.

I love Ted Lasso. The only thing I would change is that they really portray a Premier League club like a small village clubs. Those clubs get millions of pound. They have a big squad. Not just one or two coaches. 😂
I got one word for you... Budget
Suspension of disbelief: Even if fictitious, there is an ownership collapse and intentional low input toward the club. But even seeing Season 1 & Season 2 premier, it makes less sense the longer it goes kinda. Maybe the club will begin to show larger resources in the future.
@@abcrazy9 to be fair, the club has been relegated and is in a lower division, therefore much lower revenue.
depends on how long the club has been in the premier league/how rich the owners are. If a team that has spent the last 10 years in the championship suddenly goes up to the premier league then it's gonna take them a few years there at least to gain/use the most out of the financial benefits.
@@ryanadverderada3973 They were a PL club all through S1, so his point stands. Championship clubs are still bigger than what this team is portrayed to be, BTW. It's a fictional comedy show though, so I'm able to suspend my disbelief.
The way he just loses it at the end laughing at england's loss was the funniest part.
But honestly tho, I know this is a fictional show & all but sometimes how Ted reacts to getting thrashed in games really made me wonder if he'd still keep his job past the winter break in the real world tbh.
So when Coach Beard called him out I thought it was only appropriate, given that football genuinely is like a religion in many continents across the globe (notably except places where they call it soccer)
That said Ted Lasso truly has such an infectious personality, and it pains me to see him go through all that in Season 2.
@@juliansenfr tbf the whole idea was he was originally only kept on the team to sabotage it but they eventually all warm up to him which is when they’ll obviously put up with the bad streak

On a side note - Mythic Quest is actually really good. Their episode “Dark Quiet Death” (Season 1, episode 5) was probably the best standalone episodes I’ve ever seen a show put out. It’s such a bittersweet story, it’s just beautiful.
That episode destroyed me. I like the whole show, but that single one is like 10x better.
Ehh, the only episodes I really liked was the two stand alone episodes. The rest were fairly average.
Ah, a brilliant show! Yes, that half hour standalone episode of Mythic Quest (Dark Quiet Death S01e05) had more world building, character development and genuine emotion than most other shows achieve across multiple seasons. Season 2's 'Backstory' was almost equally brilliant. Oh, and 'Quarantine' and 'Everlight'? I could go on! Great show!
I enjoyed all the episodes of MQ but that episode blew me away. It felt like a full movie in 36 minutes but somehow not rushed. - Also side note to your side note, Ted Lasso was considerably better than I thought it would be!

A running gag in football comedy is that *no-one* really understands the offside rule. Or can explain it.
The joke isn't that Ted is proudly ignorant, it's that the offside rule is ridiculous and incomprehensible, and part of being a true fan is yelling at the ref because HOW THE HELL WAS THAT BLOODY OFFSIDE, IT WASN'T BLOODY OFFSIDE, COME ON REF!! ARE YOU BLOODY BLIND??

I still can't believe that a show with this premise could be this good. I'm enjoying every moment.
This is probably my favorite honest trailer for easily my favorite show in a long time. The fact that Ted can even get you to go into a southern accent when you think you've hurt his feelings says a lot (and got a great laugh out of me)

This show is just so good.
It goes to show that you can have a story that both feels optimistic and realistic.
And it's concise, it doesn't waste time with contrived drama like other shows do. Whenever you're yelling at the screen because the characters could easily solve the problem by communicating, that's exactly what they do.
It's just great, everyone should watch the show.
But for real. Bill Lawrence needs to stop luring me into his shows with comedy and destroying me with the emotion.

There was a tv show here in the Philippines that like Ted Lasso. Wgere it was about positivity and heartwarming. It's called Be careful with my heart.
Finally started the show a few days ago knowing nothing about it after everyone telling me to and was so into it that I got through the first 2 seasons in 2 days... lol
Such a wholesome show that touches on some harder topics. Season 2 builds on more characters and shows development all across the board. Absolutely loved my time watching it. Brought me to tears many times with how caring some of the characters can be once you get to see the other side of them. The Christmas episode ....... O_O
With the final line, I honestly thought the honest voice guy was crying until I heard the cackle. LOL Me expecting this episode to end on an wholesome note XD

-Nate getting picked on relentlessly
-Ted not knowing anything about the sport
-Other players not getting character development

I just swallowed all of MQ in roughly the last week, and I'm ashamed it took me this long, what with my Danny Pudi worship (and Megan Ganz, one of the great Community writers). I'm experiencing equal crushes of Poppy and Jo, she's just so completely insane lol
I'd thought for awhile now that Pudi was the best pure actor of the Community bunch (mind you it's VERY tough competition, and they're ALL in the top 5 percentile), I feel like this has only further cemented that. He did literally the furthest thing from Abed.

Im just watching it. I absolutely love it. Book 2 was so amazing. Yesterday i watched finale of book 3
i just saw the show in its entirety for weeks and... i fucking love it. it makes me feel good and hopeful. it's more than just a show about football but it's about friendship and being a better person. i wish my dad would've watched it in person.
