This was my first handgun purchase. Both my brother and my brother-in-law are career law enforcement officers and they highly recommended the PX4 as a great first handgun. Thanks for the excellent video!
my husband bought me this gun for safety. he's a marine and I love the fit in my small hands, it doesn't hurt to shoot it. even though he's showed me a million times how to use it, lol watching this video helped too. especially when he's gone and I feel like I've forgotten.
Bought my PX4 9mm yesterday. The 1st pistol I've ever purchased or owned. I bought it just for fun on "rainy days". This video is perfect for a novice such as myself. I really appreciate you posting this great and thorough informational video. The pace is perfect (can always "rewind") and the picture is clear. I didn't even know I had a cleaning kit or the auto loader in the box until I saw this video. Can't wait to go to a range and try it out. Thanks, again!
I have this same gun, and yes, the pin holding the backstrap was more difficult to insert with the larger backstrap. It felt like it was hanging up on something and required a lot of manipulation to reinsert it. I love this gun. No issues what so ever.
Hi, nice posting. I purchased my px4, which is my first gun ever, a week ago. and I really like it. I went through 200 rounds at the first time at the range. Cheers!
I think the cup you are referring to @ 3:05ish could be to set the pistol on to remove the drift/roll pins and retain the pins or other small parts when you remove them.
Impressed!!! mainly on the grip change, but the little ammo loader!! I looked at that and thought it was just packing material!! YOU stuck the barrel in without telling us the groove needs to be in the up position! doubt it would even fit in the down! I Learned a lot from you video, and really Thank You for it!!!
Thank you, so much. Just getting back into shooting after a 30 year hiatus. Your video and presentation was competent, informative and answered all my questions. Bravo!
The round cup that you deemed " useless " is a parts cup for holding the small springs and pins that you remove when working on the internals. You don't want them rolling off of the table and getting lost.
Just purchased this weapon in 40 instead of 9. will receive it next week. This was VERY helpful for my un boxing. 20 min. was fine I think you covered everything I need to know. I have class this Sat. for my cc permit and I feel more comfortable now TY
The little pin you mentiioned around 8:30 is the firing pin block moving up and out of the way. It's just an internal safety feature that prevents the gun from discharging in the event the gun is dropped.
That little pin that raises up when you pull the trigger is a firing pin block. Basically that is between that other pin you were talking about with the safety, and the firing pin, so even if the hammer was struck unintentionally while on fire, the weapon will still not go off. The weapon would have to be on fire, and the have the trigger pulled to go off. The Beretta 92 has that same feature.
Its a fairly large pistol to try to conceal but it would make a great glove box pistol. The best advice I could give you is to go down to your local range and get your hands on a few pistols. Most ranges rent out pistols which can really narrow down your selection.
Good gun review. I like the fact that you go slow when explaining things. Sometimes people rush through their videos and it's nice to be able to see all aspects and soak it in.
Great Unboxing and very well detailed info! Thank you for explaining the disassembly of the magazine, most vids do not show that. I have been doing a lot of research on my first hand gun purchase, your video helped a lot thanks again.
That pin you said pops up is a hammer block in case you are pulling the hammer back and it slips that block will not allow the hammer to strike the primer. then when you pull the trigger that block is raised out of the way allowing the primer strike.
I just picked up my px4 from the gunshop an hour ago. This thing is very sexy. I can't wait to spend my weekend shooting the crap outta this thing at the range. ITS GOOD TO BE ALIVE MY BROTHERS
Just picked my Px4 Storm .40, I wanted a 9mm but due to the low availability of the ammunition I was persuaded by my shooting buddies to step up in caliber. But awesome firearm cannot wait to shoot it. Great Vid!
I think that pin that sticks out the top when the trigger is pulled is a firing pin safety, which prevents the firing pin from being bumped or moved through inertia when the trigger isn't being pulled. The 92 also has a long rectangular piece that sticks out the top as the trigger is pulled.
Thank you Jon! One of the best non shooting reviews i've seen. Own a PPK/s and 2 Glock 17s, just picked up a 9mm PX4 to match my CX4. i'm not a patient teacher, so I will have my wife watch this to familiarize herself with the new weapon. Great job.
Don't take it as an amateur gun. It is easy to handle and shoot with less of recoil It is easy to clean and manipulate That is some of the reasons why professionals are using this awesome well made gun
Good review, much appreciated. Shot this model yesterday at the range for the first time. Found it to have very little recoil, sights could be marked better, but was great to handle. I fired 6 other handguns including Glock 17 and 19, the Beretta is competitive in my opinion. Thanks again for the video review.
Hey Mate, thanks for a great video! I just picked up my very first pistol: a PX4 Storm Compact! I'm so excited... I have wanted one for a couple of years. I tested one at my local range and loved it. I am former military... so I was very comfortable with the FS-9 . I LOVE this pistol! Thanks for the take down and the great info... keep up the good work! Subscribed!
I have the beretta 90-two And it's an amazing handgun. But it's way too big to conceal it. I was looking into the 9x4 storm and this video did it for me. Thanks buddy
The barrel spins so it doesn't have to cam. Most beretta pistols barrels stay level and slide back a little so that the next round can load the recoil reduction is just a bonus. I hope it can produce the same or better reliability than the 92.
Very informative, OMG your voice is so relaxing and soothing, makes me want to go out and buy a Beretta PX4, oh wait, that's right I already have one!!
So to clear up what you're saying about the de-cocker--Even if there's an ammo in your chambe, THE GUN WON'T FIRE the round if you use the de-cocker, because the nipple that engages the firing pin when it gets hit by the hammer would actually get out of the way of the hammer when the hammer "slams" back to normal position. Gah i suck at explaining my point.
The easy take down switch is NOT ONLY for this PX-4, you can also find it in BERSA TPR9 or TPR9C. They have exactly the SAME way to take down the pistol .... Press down the take down switch, slide it forward, then you've taken it apart for cleaning or upgrade etc ...
I feel the polimar makes the gun flimsy in the magazine well. Test: take your magazine out and squeeze lightly on the grip. you will notice that you could crush it if you are relatively strong. The gun is still a top performer but the 92 all metal guns feel more solid than the Storms. I would like to have the option to have an light metal frame instead of polimer to make the gun more durable. Plastics are not meant for lifetimes.
Great video! I am left handed and somewhere I saw px4 storm slide ambidextrous release. But I can do that I would move my hand no biggie. Also I have to move mag release to the right side.
Good video. Very watchable and informative. No political views, all about the firearm. Thank you for posting. If I was to buy a 9mm, this would be the one..Regards Andy
They have a front sight you can actually see and a rear sight that with a vertical sight for a much faster acquisition. I just can't say enough about them, but there are plenty of videos on them--on RUclips. Enjoy your above average pistol!
There's the Full, the Compact and the Sub-Compact. The Sub is the best for conceal carry. But the Compact is doable. But it depends on your choice of concealment. The one in the video is the Full and too big for conceal.
Is this a full size or the compact? I dnt know if the one I saw in Cabelas is full size or compact... theyre almost the same look right? but i know subcompact is smallest of them all
Yes it is the "Compact" but it's pretty good size for a compact! I have the Bersa Thunder and it is really compact in comparison! But the Bersa has an awesome recoil, that the Beretta don't have! I love Beretta's tiny recoil!!
I know this is an older video and I've only had this gun long enough to put about 300 rounds through it. I just took it down and the piece you show coming out with a spring is staying in the frame. I spent several hours trying to figure out what's different. Could that piece be jammed somehow? does it come out in a particular way? Because it did not come out with the barrel and the slide assembly I mean. I remove the slide assembly and the barrel came out but the spring and the knob assembly that the spring slides into and the barrel rotates on stayed in the j frame. I may have cussed my self into hell trying to figure out what was going wrong and how I was being so damn stupid.
Can you tell me if there is too much size difference between the beretta px4 in 9mm and the beretta px4 in 45 that I can not use the same safariland holster for both of them. Thanks for the info.
I've been looking around and I couldn't find information on whether the magazine release could be switched to the other side for left handed shooters. Do you know?
Great video! I was torn between the px4 and the ruger sr9c. But I will go with this one. Plus this gun has much more manageable recoil than the sr9c anyway.
Hey, does the assembly block for the 9mm fit the 40 calibur. Is it the same item number? I'm replacing the block and I've ordered a replacement from Brownell but they keep sending the wrong block.
Magazine release is reversible, not ambidextrous. Also, one can chamber first round, clear, and field strip weapon with safety engaged, a plus! Pulling trigger and letting hammer drop when slide is off the frame is not good for it.
Britney Rinehart it's a very good buy!

Yesterday was my birthday and I bought two PX4s both full sized .40 calibers, one full black and one inox. Absolutely love them.
Hi, nice posting. I purchased my px4, which is my first gun ever, a week ago. and I really like it. I went through 200 rounds at the first time at the range. Cheers!
Looking to buy this gun and this is by far the best video i have seen. Thanks so much!!!
I think the cup you are referring to @ 3:05ish could be to set the pistol on to remove the drift/roll pins and retain the pins or other small parts when you remove them.
Impressed!!! mainly on the grip change, but the little ammo loader!! I looked at that and thought it was just packing material!! Thanks for such an in depth video. Just picked mine up yesterday and this explained everything nicely.
Good gun review. I like the fact that you go slow when explaining things. Sometimes people rush through their videos and it's nice to be able to see all aspects and soak it in.
Thanks Jon, just got the compact version the other day and your vid was very informative thanks.
Excellent video. I just purchased the PX storm in .40 Cal. and wanted to view a video that had breakdown. Your video did the trick, thank you.
The pin that comes up is a firing pin block to prevent the gun from discharge from dropping or hitting it. This is on almost all Beretta pistols.
Great video. I have the PX4 Compact 9mm and I pick up the Full Size PX4 Inox tomorrow they are great handguns. Thanks again fore the good video.
I just picked up my px4 from the gunshop an hour ago. This thing is very sexy. I can't wait to spend my weekend shooting the crap outta this thing at the range. ITS GOOD TO BE ALIVE MY BROTHERS

where did you buy this gun?
its a real gun
im interested in this gun
I think that pin that sticks out the top when the trigger is pulled is a firing pin safety, which prevents the firing pin from being bumped or moved through inertia when the trigger isn't being pulled. The 92 also has a long rectangular piece that sticks out the top as the trigger is pulled.
Thank for the vid. Got mine today. The only problem was the slide would not come off. I finally got it by giggling the slide.
I think the cup is to prop up the gun on the table by resting the trigger guard intro it.
Darrin Larson another person also showed putting the spring in the cup so it doesn’t roll away

It is easy to handle and shoot with less of recoil
It is easy to clean and manipulate
That is some of the reasons why professionals are using this awesome well made gun
+Waboche so amateur guns are suppose to be harder to handle?
Awesome video. it was real informative and well narrated. I have the compact 9mm and it is one of my favorite conceal carry firearms.
Thanks for the video, showing how to change the backstraps was what I was looking for. I just got the sub compact, can't wait to shoot it.
Thanks for the great video very helpful I drew a blank for a while on reassemble mine
Good review, much appreciated. Shot this model yesterday at the range for the first time. Found it to have very little recoil, sights could be marked better, but was great to handle. I fired 6 other handguns including Glock 17 and 19, the Beretta is competitive in my opinion. Thanks again for the video review.
The cup is used to prop the cup on the table. When I get my PX4 Storm august 15th, I'll post a video to show you
Good review, as soon as my permit arrives in the mail ill be picking one of these up!
As far as I know, the magazine release is swappable, not the slide release. Nice weapon, great review! :)
Really appreciate the video! Just bought mine today!
What did you think about the kick back comparing the Full vs the Compact? I have the full.
Hey Mate, thanks for a great video! I just picked up my very first pistol: a PX4 Storm Compact! I'm so excited... I have wanted one for a couple of years. I tested one at my local range and loved it. Thanks for the video! I think this will be my first hand gun purchase.
The cup is actually to help you keep the gun upright.
Just place the outside of the trigger area on the cup. Mainly to display.
Good review Jon, I went out and pick one up last week.
I got the Langdon tactical compact carry and it’s the best beretta I’ve had.
The barrel spins so it doesn't have to cam. Most beretta pistols barrels stay level and slide back a little so that the next round can load the recoil reduction is just a bonus. I hope it can produce the same or better reliability than the 92.

Buying mine tomaro then in 10 days picking it up .... Great video
just picked one of these up last week. very helpful! thanks

Bought one years ago, great gun, changing the backstraps is a pain, the locking device comes out hard, but great gun overall.
You know.
I rather a reviewer stumble around their words, little gaps in speaking. Makes it more real and trusting. Kudos on the review.
Excellent review....what ares the costs?
Excellent video. hoping to have one in the next few months,

can you carry it cocked and locked or does the safety/decocker always drop the hammer?
Dan Colket Safety/decocker always drops the hammer. A modification may be available to change it
Good video. Very watchable and informative. No political views, all about the firearm. Thank you for posting. If I was to buy a 9mm, this would be the one..Regards Andy
Good friend .... what a loader serves the px4 that has a capacity of 32 bullets
OK sorry spoke too soon. I see you cover that later in the video. Sorry for my impatience. Thanks.
Just got this gun. Very informative. Appreciate the info"

Great video. I'm picking one up. Found one in 45 acp on sale for $390.00
You dont fully load magazines? I heard that right didnt I?
Haha i know i straight up had to stop and rewind to make sure i actually heard that right !! Wtf
such a great gun! love it!
They offer it in a compact and sub-compact, which both would work better for a CCW.
I purchased one today to add to my collection...Big mother perfect for home or critical defense against anybody
There's the Full, the Compact and the Sub-Compact. The Sub is the best for conceal carry. But the Compact is doable. But it depends on your choice of concealment. The one in the video is the Full and too big for conceal.

this gun review is on the full size. he said it has 17 rd mags. A compact comes with 15 rd mags.

Great video man
Where would i be able to buy this gun ?
Go to tombstone tactical .com
The pin is a safety lock and the red thing beneath it will light up
if it is loaded
Great video. Thanks for the upload. Love my compact
I've been looking around and I couldn't find information on whether the magazine release could be switched to the other side for left handed shooters. Do you know?
I'm actually going with the Springfield XDM 3.8 9mm for my first firearm but this gun does look solid and I like this vid very informative and solid!
Great video! I was torn between the px4 and the ruger sr9c. But I will go with this one. Plus this gun has much more manageable recoil than the sr9c anyway.
Hi , I purchase this gun second hand , she have the same scrathes on the barrel ... how many rounds have you shot ?
You didn't say but it looks like the full size px4 storm
Hey, does the assembly block for the 9mm fit the 40 calibur. Is it the same item number? I'm replacing the block and I've ordered a replacement from Brownell but they keep sending the wrong block.
Is this one the compact or full size what
I own both the PX4 and Glock 19 and can confirm the PX4 is more comfortable to shoot.
Thanks for the video - very informative!
Thank you for a very good review and introduction. I can't wait to shoot my PX4Storm .40 seems to be a great gun.
By the way great video thank you
what is the price on this gun?
I just purchased one .. $480 for a px4 .. 17 rounds .. how do I know if Florida law allows this many rounds or if I have to register it ?
The " useless cup" is for parts when you disassemble
Magazine release is reversible, not ambidextrous. Also, one can chamber first round, clear, and field strip weapon with safety engaged, a plus! Pulling trigger and letting hammer drop when slide is off the frame is not good for it.
8 min 29 sec into the video, have you figured out what the function on that pin? I'm scrolling through the comments and didn't see it yet.
thank you
It is a firing pin block. IT stay down when the trigger is not engaged to keep the gun from firing when dropped or the hammer is bumped.
Great video
Awesome review
Just got one of these. Anyone know how to change the interchangable grip backstraps?
There is a little retainer clip next to the mag well.
+zeppafloyd Watch the video. He does a good job explaining. I already, while watching the video, changed mine to the larger curved grip backstop.
he shows you in the video you're commenting on right now! jeez.
Great video, 9 more days on the waitin period before I get mine...
Thanks for the video so informative.
