- In this video we try out the New Galaxy Class. Named after the USS Yamato. This ship is part of a rapid reaction anti-borg force developed by Starfleet. Using information learnet by Voyager, this ship has one purpose, to fight the Borg! Let's see how good it is!

The back of the soucer destroy the elegancy of the ship. The Perfect sculpture design was who makes the Galaxy so beautiful!
Well if I was armoring a formerly elegant ship to survive hell itself, i’d sacrifice some elegance for some juggernaut survivability too. Kind of like Lakota losing the more “swan” like look of Excelsior and now looking like a mobile weapons platform or “Excelsior Battle-package edition” with it’s fat? Looking secondary hull and added phasers.
I still want to see the Enterprise A retrofitted with that armour and weaponry from Voyager in Endgame. The A was always my favorite.

At one point voyager's weapons had been upgraded by the 26th century Borg so that could also be why they did a little better against the Delta quadrant borg in the 24th century
I like it. The Galaxy Class is such a blank canvas. So big, not only in length x width, but huge internal volume. So much space for upgrades as you say. That is why the "Fat One" is still the best!
Starting with new Dominion war refit builds...
Remove the yacht. Install a Lance if possible, or a dual pulse cannon turret. Dual forward/aft facing pulse cannon on the nacelle pylons. Two lateral phaser columns on the secondary ventral hull. Reposition aft dorsal arrays and install two additional banks. One column on each engine dorsal. Refit forward phaser banks into dual columns.
Redesign primary hull so aft launcher can fire while docked. Install forward dorsal launcher. Install stardrive ventral aft launcher parallel to aft dorsal launcher. Refit forward launcher into a double launch port.
Install reinforcement substructure and superstructure along warp power conduits leading to engines, each with additional structural fields. Integrate armor into main, battle bridges, warp core section, including antimatter containment system, and all torpedo launch ports. Install power cells with short transfer distances to each phaser array. Install backup tactical control system into each hull with substantial power surge protections. Reinforcement of primary phaser power transfers. Install backup tactical scanners in absence of superfluous crew accommodations. Install holographic generators in engineering, sickbay, main bridge, and Ten-forward, with EMH, and thoroughly tested ECH. Remodel observation lounge into bridge shield generator and combat information center. Replace arboretum with enlarged aeroponic tower garden and hydroponics bays.
Retrofit two large cargo bays into industrial replicators capable of replacing power conduits, hull plating, torpedo casings, and clean socks.
Install brewery and distillery in place of the dolphin tank.
It's a good concept but the ship visually is lacking somewhat.

A very similar design to the Ross does exist under the name Titan Class, so maybe one day...
Theres alot I like about this ship. I remember as a kid after seeing the defiant, this was the galaxy I then wanted. An armored battleship. Definitely wanna see more my friend! Great ship and video 🤘🖖🖖🖖

The Federation isn't a military organization. For them to have an entire fleet of warships make no sense. Practically the entire fleet are science vessels to some degree or another. The only reason why the science vessels even HAVE weapons and defenses are to use them in a defensive or functional capability.
problem with starfleet ships when engaging the borg is it's essentially a bunch of ants taking on a elephant. we saw in first contact starfleet ships getting one shotted by borg torpedoes. basically pick you apart one at a time essentially reducing effectiveness of a fleet. you would need a massive ship of your own to counter a cube. kind of like battleship vs battleship. because for most other races starfleet can rely on fast small ships and swarm the enemy fleet but that just doesn't work with the borg. so to take on a cube you would need something like the universe class.
It's not only that, but the Borg has tactical advantages. They have powerful shielding, they have a rapid regeneration ability to damage inflicted on Cubes, they have industrial level cutting beams and torpedoes, ability to analyze and beam drones through certain types Federation shielding in boarding actions that can essentially cripple ships from within and weapon types we haven't even seen used yet (based on the weapons systems they assimilated from all the THOUSANDS of species they already have in the Collective), and they have the ability to adapt their weapon systems and defenses based on their analytical capacity.
The only way you could destroy Borg cubes or planets, is a one-shot doomsday weapon, like Species 8472 did.

I saw the Episode with the Yamato and eeh ouch.. they named it right I say... the fleet of these ships were great in a way against the Borg fleet but on that Tactical Cube hmm.. hard to say.. what I saw was better further back then up-close.. Well, love the ship and style , glad in this game has all those ships.. as always .. Great battle Captain... would love to see in bridge of the ship.. love the video..!!!😊🖖
Thanks Steve! Yes, the textures could be made a bit sharper, although I love the design. I almost wonder if it’s designed to buy time for the rest of the fleet to be assembled. So it can slow the Borg down, but maybe not defeat them? Data would certainly of had fun with this ship. Although it had to be the Enterprise D in Picard. 🖖

So, at first I was like, "Wait, sending large ships at the Borg is antithetical to every anti-Borg strat we've ever seen which is to avoid sending them large and hard to build resources for them to assimilate." Then I thought, what if the strat here isn't to "win" but rather to tank the damage and occupy the cube so that smaller DPS based ships could fly in and drop quantum spam, then that would make sense for this particular design and also why there weren't a ton of them built. #DamageSponge

My respect to anybody who does a mod for BC, BUT this ship deserves an esthetical overhaul from textures to proportions. Anyway, I could see it as a proto Ross-class.
That was a seriously amazing video this upgraded Galaxy class looks so totally amazing it would be really cool if the Galaxy class had the Armour that Voyager had in Endgame
You should look for the Exeter model, basically the “Star Trek Online” 25th century Constitution (before the Constitution III). Saw it in use in another Bridge Commander video.
And it has a Remastered release.😅

Really love these vids and these ships. I've been struggling to get some of the mods, like that Excalibur refit from a few days ago, to work. Has anybody else had trouble? Not sure if I'm missing a step when modding this particular game or not...
So I’m assuming your running bridge commander remastered, as these won’t work with kobayahsimaru. All you should need to do is copy and paste to your bc remastered folder. It may be worth checking under the configure tab that all of the mutators are selected 🖖

Hey trickeydickie thanks for stopping by, not see you for a while. Hard to forget a name like that 😂. I run it in 1920x1080 and then upscale it using a superscaler to 4K. It does actually increase quality as RUclips’s 4K video processing has a much higher bitrate. 🖖

I like this concept the primary hull shape is what I wished they had of used on the Enterprise D & the original Galaxy design instead of the oval. That chonky impulse array on the saucer looks utterly bad ass you know that thing probably doubled the sub-light speed of the original design. The armor fits works great but I think they need a little more on the star drive. After all the borg & the duras sisters targeted the exact same spot during their fights with Enterprise D. They really should beef up the armor around the main engineering area give it that black ablative scheme too.
Not a fan of the saucer impulse engines, it’s a good design in general but needs a lot more work done on it I think. I like the idea of the Galaxy class continuing to have a place in universe which was why I was so happy to see the updated ones in ST: Picard.
I thought the Yamato had a bigass cannon in the bow.
I'd love to see the Khitomer or a Mogh fight the Borg!
Looks nice. Not a kit bashed duct taped conglomerate,looks familiar, looks improved and it's not some ridiculous god mode ship. Realistic.
it looks like what it is a radical refit of the Galaxy. still feels like large and important parts of her needed armouring.
@@JeanLucCaptain it's a new armored paint. There's a song by Voltaire called the USS Make Shit Up... Bounce a vertical graviton beam of the main deflector dish that's the way we do things lads making shit up as we wish. The Klingons and the romulans will pose no threat to us cuz if we find we're in a bind we just make some shit up.
The saucer section is the only part that appears to have been modified....

i can almost taste victo...
so i do have an observation about the people making mods. for the longest time i was playing stock BC remastered. i did not know until jsut recently that more ships were being made for it. many of what are being published on gamefront now seem to be redos of kobyashi maru ships that are being updated for remastered.
anyhow i am noticing a bit of a trend, and these ships are included in that trend. notably, there are many great federation ships. tehse galaxy class ships were fun to play, i downloaded them.
but i am seeing a serious drawback from the modder community. i see all sorts of ships like these, here is the cool new version of this, here is the cool new version of htat. but, its always federation ships. this means that for the cool new ships of the future? its pretty much all federation ships (i did find a romulan pack today that appears promising.) while the cool new federation ships are fun and nice and look good? they do not really have anyone to fight, other than other future federation ships. for instance, i am sure i could take one of these new galaxy class ships and fight the kazon with them. but that would probably not be much of a challenge (well unless i play against 10 kazons)
i would like to see modders make more klingon, romulan, cadassian, dominion and other forms of enemy ships that are stronger and could last more than 10 seconds in combat against the top federation ships.
however what i can tell you is i have been having some endlessly entertaining mega fleet battles since i learned you could add ships to BC remastered... even if its fed against fed.
That’s a fair assessment. I think Federation ships are the most popular. Hence why there are so many of them. People want to recreate the show. The alien ships have never been that popular, which is a shame. I really wish we had more Romulan ships! Balancing them is a tricky endeavour🖖

the Ross class is the Cannon version of this ship. please see if there is the Borg Unimatrix Command ship as a mod I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A BATTLE against that MONSTER.
Also could you do a fleet of USS yeager vs a borg Cube or Dominion battleship?
Maybe if you purchase some upgraded plot armor, you can take on an Assimilation Cube..?

Incredibly beautiful ship, just as the original predecessor. I've seen it on our well known modding site but I've yet to download it. Does it include a bridge or needs one separately?

I found a bridge pack called Venture TMP-TNG consisting of two bridges. They're a nice addition. Reminds me of the refit Excelsior TNG style bridge.

If you didn't poke outta it's blind spot, was there a chance you might have won? Though I wonder if the reason the Borg wasn't firing for a long period of time was because it was focusing all of its attention on regeneration.
Pauses in firing cycles might indicate a charging cycle OR regeneration of damaged weapons, because Starfleet fleet ships USUALLY target weapon systems and drive units as a non-lethal option in battles.
There's never been any advantage to attacking a Borg ship closely. It was clear an attack from farther away is better, as you can dodge some of their torpedos too. You have to remember that typically weapons cause MORE damage at closer range and they are of course always more accurate closer.
That's because close-quarter combat means your ship gets hit with a weapon when it's at its strongest intensity (it will lose some of its "energy" over longer distances, depending on the strength of the beam weapon and energy used). There's also the issue of accuracy over longer distances, and the further a weapon has to travel, the more time gives its target to move out of the way and evade said weapon.
lets try this ship vs the enterpirse Eoder the F XD the potenial of this ship is massiv , the look is great and with quantum torpedos , so the qauntums reload is fast and can destroy shilds and armor in a few secounds =)
Pretty to look at, but obviously doesn't live up to its supposed role if four of them can't defeat a single Tactical Cube. 🙂

@@RetroBadgerGaming Is there an Avenger class ship? If there is, these ships can send out a hail saying "Avengers, assemble!" Then you'd have USS Thor, USS Hulk, USS Iron Man, USS Captain America, USS Black Widow, etc. warp in and assume battle formation. 😀

Compared to ST armada 2, the tactical cube is very over powere in this game. Plus this one doesnt have tactical fusion cube
Actually I think this ship looks awful. The straight angular addition to the aft saucer section clashes with the rest of the ship's curves.

Great concept but the execution is really ugly.
I am sorry but the saucer shape and style on that Yamato-A is ugly and the Warp nacelles look too small.
