- A popular RUclipsr has died, just days after assuring fans he wasn’t dead. Apetor, a Norwegian man with over 1.2 million subscribers, posted his last video on November 22nd with the title “I am Not Dead, I am 57 Today.” Eckhoff’s partner said he was in an icy lake for too long while filming a video. He was “picked up by divers and sent by air ambulance” to the hospital, where he died from his injuries a day later. Apetor’s videos embraced the joy in both travel and everyday life.

I was so ready to mock thinking that all Apetor was doing was stunts and that he was doing them "for the views". Then they mentioned he was a cancer survivor, determined to live life to the fullest, and to share the joy of every adventure, whether in travel or everyday life. I still wouldn't call Apetor a role model but I have nothing but respect and admiration for his audacity. Rest now, sir. You lived life good.

Yeah right? That's exactly how my grandfather died - drowned because he was alone. Nobody was with him, my grandmother was in the garden cutting wood. She didn't hear him screaming and he couldn't pull himself out because he was old and weak.

RIP! The fact that he lived for a day after that incident speaks to the strength of the Norwegian people. I had an uncle from Norway - unfortunately he passed away several years at the age of 89 - he was the strongest person I ever knew. Strength to the core! His hands were so leathery tough. His body looked like it had been through a war but it never phased him. And his mind…perhaps the strongest of all! And I’ve come to realize that he was indicative of the strength of so many Norwegians. It’s in their culture and heritage. Amazing!

I clearly remember watching his videos for the first time. It was a time when I was dealing with depression and loneliness (as we all do) and his videos brought me such peace and happiness. His positive outlook on live and everything he did made me realize that we should all just enjoy the little things. RIP Apetor, we will never forget all the times you’ve made us happy. He did this yearly, and lived a much more free and fulfilling life than the corruption many of us live through every day. He died doing what he loved. He didn’t die doing what he loved, doing what he loved caused him to die. Getting intoxicated and screwing around in freezing waters has some pretty obvious consequences but he did it anyways to entertain. Noble? maybe. Seems a tragic loss of life to me.
How he enjoyed what he was doing? It literally costed him his life in the process, he definitely “enjoys” it in heaven

That’s sad to because right before he died a year ago I watched that one with a sigh of relief.But later that sigh of relief didn’t last long when I heard he passed😢
