After many many hours of working on the stem it is finally finished! Now we just need to get it up on top of the mold. Not the easiest as it weighs around 100 kilos :)
We are a Swedish family who have sailed the world since 2016 while sharing the adventures here on RUclips. While we are still sailing our main focus now a days is building RAN III, a 50 ft sailboat that we are building from scratch. We post a new episode every Friday so make sure to subscribe and hit the bell to be the first to know when there is a new episode!

I'm always amazed at your total command of English. This build is quite technical and you always explain it correctly using English. I'm reminded that it is not your native language when you speak casually with Malin and your friend. Of course, the stem is a piece of craftsmanship.

This is such a joy to watch. The level of attention given to every little detail is delivering a quality skeleton/frame for the planking thus rewarding you with a wonderful product. We can tell from the tone of your voices that you are proud of the work (while not gloating on the video) …and we’re so happy for you. Vera is so sweet to observed and we all love it. Merci 👍🇨🇦

As I have said before he is a gentle Viking. History In my head, I picture "Hey you want to go on a raid"? "No, I would like to build the boats". " Good luck on your raid. but did you see my new design".
That's the way I picture him as a Man's Man doing what he enjoys and is very good at it.

This boat is shaping up nicely. Congratulations for all the skills, hard work and for Vera's decorations. 🙂 I was looking at the height of your barn ceiling and how the boat occupies the space. I am curious about your plans to turn the hull, sit it on a wheeled structure and have enough room to work on the deck. I know it is a bit into the future but that should put your MacGyver skills to extra test. 🙂 Stay strong!

Great video again! Can I suggest that you get that door in ASAP? There are going to be literally 100's of times that you will wish you have unfetterd acces and room around the bow of the boat between now and then, so the sooner you get it is, the easier your life will be.
While you are at it, you could make a lean-to extension on the end of the barn so that you gain some room on the end so you won't have to open the door much. A few meters hould easily be possible and you could do most of the arrangements and work without much help. The hardest part is going to be sizing and installing a beam over the opening (and you will need to do that whatever you do to that end wall) and also ensuring that you are addressing shear strength in the wall once you have taken out a big portion of the end wall.

Were Swedish swear words flying off-camera when Johan realized the template wasn't right? This episode reminded me that when we're building something, whether a software product or sailing yacht, mistakes happen. Mistakes like this challenge our patience, but the best craftsman calmly regroup and adapt. I tip my hat to Johan and Malin.

Impressive. I’m confident Johan knows this. When I do an epoxy gkue up I never dispose my mixing cup right away. I leave next to the glue up, the best way to check if the epoxy is fully cured.
After all the use of the Shaper, you need to mill up a small piec of the shapere tape in wood, frame it and place it somewhere in the finished boat. A littele reminder of the kilometers of tape you might have use by then.
    I love Vera‘s paintings.

I don't know how, but all the people I've seen using that router, somehow managed to put that tape on a surface they use over and over, not on the actual piece, so they don't need to get rid of the tape when the work is finished. Maybe it is because of the size of the pieces, not sure, but I think you can save some money with that trick. Awesome job guys!! Hej då!!!
