@@Horzinicla they aren't depressing, they're funny. Depressing (or annoying, depending on your view) is those "My [insert person you were close to here] died and they liked this song. My partner had a dissociative disorder. He died March 1st from cancer. I can tell Oscar Isaac really researched the disease. It was very hard to watch moonknight but I loved it. I loved every second.
No offense but it’s a condition, not a disease. There is nothing that infects you to cause it. It is the human brain doing a quite interesting process in response to trama.
I just listening to this song but then my grandma started singing too. She said she started listening to this song when she was in 8th grade the same as me who started listened to this song in 8th grade :)
I'm here from the premiere of Moon Knight and I'm really proud to say I've been made a new fan, but I also just really wanted to say how I love how as I've played the song over and over I've realized this song sort of serves as a really early portrayal (all the way back in the sixties) that men and boys can be sensitive, and can cry, and still be deemed romantic and attractive because of it. Love this song
oh? do you have dissociative identity disorder and serve under an egyptian moon god by beating up bad guys at night wearing a sacred ceremonial healing suit?
I knew I somehow recognized this song when I heard it on Moon Knight. It took a while but it finally hit me: this was my Grandpa's favorite song. I heard it probably a hundred times while he was doing yard work, working on his car, and cleaning his guns. I miss that man so much, thanks for reminding me of him.
I think we all like this song not just because it's good, but because of how well it fits in with Moon Knight, not only with the protagonist(s) emotional state but with the mood. This song threads the needle between uplifting and depressing. It teeters on the edge of keeping your mind or losing it, falling down its own rabbit holes of unknown depth. This is essential when it is combined with story elements and characterization that complement it. By the end of episode 1, we not only have seen Steven in his fragile state, but this song helps us experience it. It portrays a man on the brink of insanity trying to keep himself going by pretending he's okay. The melancholy lyrics combined with the "positive" melody and Humperdinck's brilliant vocals creates a kind of uneasy stability and creates a grey void where our thoughts and feelings should be. This masterful use of opposing techniques takes me to the Uncanny Valley, which I think is why I can't think about anything other than the song when I'm listening to it. My fight or flight mode isn't on, but it is on standby and I can't turn it off. The fact that this song is so tantalizingly close to being either positive or negative is incredibly frustrating to me. I think it's be because it's part of who we are. Since this song walks the line between opposing themes, it's not the things we know are happening in the song that's driving us insane, it's that despite all the information we've been presented, we still know nothing. Edit: Now that I've listened to it a few more times I realize I'm wrong about a few things. There isn't exactly a facade; the speaker highlights his loneliness and sorrow and doesn't try to hide it. What creates the uneasy feeling is mostly the difference between what he's singing and what the music is telling us. That's why we can't truly know what this song is. Also, I don't think this song was designed that in mind. If Humperdinck really wanted to mess with our minds he could've made the difference much smaller or bigger, or changed to a key that's more traditionally used for sad songs but play a positive melody (he might've here but it doesn't really feel like it). However, the key change in the middle of the first verse and the second chorus may prove me wrong there. Those are used intelligently.
What a world we live in- I first heard this in Moon knight but the other day also at my neighbours 101st birthday party. Love how great music can effortlessly appeal to so very many generations.
I love how the melody and presentation are anthemic, confident, and clear but the topic is sadness and heartbreak. Makes me feel like someone could just gladly shout out "I'm depressed!" or something. This is how a real Chad handles sadness
My late father was a huge fan of Engelbert. Everytime I hear this song my eyes are filled with tears. RIP Dad. Love you always until its my last waltz. ❤
Mr. Humperdinck voice can’t be compared. When he reaches those high notes they are flawless. The pronunciation of his words are so clear in the song that you can’t miss a beat. Englebert voice and the music arrangements can help a lonely man and woman fall in love at first sight at a Cafe drinking a cup of coffee with a slice of Red Velvet cake. If people are lonely without love inside all you need to look inside of you and you will find. Since, I started listening to his music and the message that Engelbert is sending it has changed the way I look at life and the way I love someone. Love is complicated but it is beautiful at the same time.
Good thoughts, listen to Tom Jones’ “I’m Never Gonna Fall in Love Again”. That one will hit the same way, moves you the same way, albeit for a different reason in love! 🤔
My mother loved your music and as a child this was one of my favorites. She has since passed so when this song came on Moon Knight it brought up beautiful memories. I can't stop listening to it now. Touches you in the feels ♥️
My grandma LOVES him still, she used to clean her entire house and put on his record to help pass the time. She played it so much, when I played this in the car with my mom one time, she told me never to tell my grandma i liked it because she would go crazy and my mom is sick of hearing him after listening to him every weekend of her childhood 😭😭😭

I unintentionally kept this song in my heart before finding it again in Marvel Studios' Moon Knight, Sir. My Lolo (Grandpa) loves and used to sing your songs all day, esp in his karaoke machine. now he's very old and i haven't seen him for few months cause i'm away from the Philippines for work here in Saudi, I really miss him everyday, as every night I keep on dreaming of him being happy, being younger. Same I would always hear this from my grandmother, so I'm pretty lucky hearing this before Moon Knight but im also glad that the show is showcasing these old songs for people to listen to.
My Father always listens to Engelbert Humperdinck songs every morning on Spotify while eating breakfast and getting ready for work. I do hear this song every now and then it made me smile when it was used for Moon Knight.
I'd been singing this when I was little - around 3 or 4. Now that I'm 29, this song hits me differently. I realize that my kid self must've been singing this to my present self. It is what it is. But I really love the song. Brings me back to my childhood.

As a child in the 80’s, I grew up listening to music of the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s... it was my father’s love of music that I took most from him.. he just passed away on sept 18. I might not be able to talk to him anymore but his music speaks to my soul...
[Verse 1] I can remember when we walked together Sharing a love I thought would last forever Moonlight to show the way so we can follow Waiting inside her eyes was my tomorrow Then something changed her mind, her kisses told me I had no loving arms to hold me [Chorus] Every day I wake up, then I start to break up Lonely is a man without love Every day I start out, then I cry my heart out Lonely is a man without love Every day I wake up, then I start to break up Knowing that it's cloudy above Every day I start out, then I cry my heart out Lonely is a man without love [Verse 2] I cannot face this world that's fallen down on me So if you see my girl, please send her home to me Tell her about my heart that's slowly dying Say I can't stop myself from crying [Chorus] Every day I wake up, then I start to break up Lonely is a man without love Every day I start out, then I cry my heart out Lonely is a man without love Every day I wake up, then I start to break up Knowing that it's cloudy above Every day I start out, then I cry my heart out Lonely is a man without love Every day I wake up, then I start to break up Lonely is a man without love Every day I start out, then I cry my heart out Lonely is a man without love
@@TruthKeepersOfficialHD2 It's useful to me because lyrics videos tend to show the lyrics as they're being sung, but (especially for songs I'm not too familiar yet) I personally find the need to anticipate the next verses so I know what to sing.
this song slaps hard and just feels relatable. My take is that the song talks about waking up and feeling lonely, every day is just a repeat and nothing new happens, everyday is just the same. Exactly what i’m feeling rn, everyday is the same
a constant and repetative state of limbo. The repetitive monotony of mundane life strips you of all soul till all that is left is a husk of a man. A puppet doing the same thing again and again while life pulls the strings

(I know your song from Moonknight)
So do I... 😂 The song wa enjoy full
same i looped the video

I love how the melody and presentation are anthemic, confident, and clear but the topic is sadness and heartbreak. Makes me feel like someone could just gladly shout out "I'm depressed!" or something. This is how a real Chad handles sadness

[Verse 1]
I can remember when we walked together
Sharing a love I thought would last forever
Moonlight to show the way so we can follow
Waiting inside her eyes was my tomorrow
Then something changed her mind, her kisses told me
I had no loving arms to hold me
[Chorus]
Every day I wake up, then I start to break up
Lonely is a man without love
Every day I start out, then I cry my heart out
Lonely is a man without love
Every day I wake up, then I start to break up
Knowing that it's cloudy above
Every day I start out, then I cry my heart out
Lonely is a man without love
[Verse 2]
I cannot face this world that's fallen down on me
So if you see my girl, please send her home to me
Tell her about my heart that's slowly dying
Say I can't stop myself from crying
[Chorus]
Every day I wake up, then I start to break up
Lonely is a man without love
Every day I start out, then I cry my heart out

@@TruthKeepersOfficialHD2 It's useful to me because lyrics videos tend to show the lyrics as they're being sung, but (especially for songs I'm not too familiar yet) I personally find the need to anticipate the next verses so I know what to sing.
