I just unboxed this. I'm not dumb but mechanics are also NOT my forte. This video gave me everything I needed in a clear and concise fashion. Fast and easy viewing. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! :)
Based in part of your very straightforward and positive review, I bought this unit from Amazon about 18 months ago. Due to some remodeling and such, I didn't want to take it out of the box until I was going to be able to use it, so it got buried. About 3-4 weeks ago, I added the oil and filled it up with fuel to start it up for the first time. I used it for about an hour in a trouble-free manner with great results. Today I got it out for a second time and was about 2 hours into a 3-hour project, when the motor just shut off as if I had used the kill switch, which I hadn't. I wondered it some overheat switch had tripped, so I waited about 5 minutes and tried to start the engine again. It started and ran for at most 2 seconds and then cut out again. Successive cooler attempts have not gotten so much as a sputter, almost like there is no spark or no fuel. Being that I've only run it for 3 hours total on brand new gas and it never sputtered even once, I find it hard to believe that a clogged carburetor jet could be the culprit. Being a newbie at pressure washers - I don't know if I might've just gotten a lemon and I'm out the purchase price (I remember I was going to get the 3-year warranty, but I see no record of it in Amazon's order details). Any thoughts?
Sounds like a lemon to me. I just used mine today pressure washing my home. Still no issues. If I were you I’d contact Simpson directly and explain your situation to them. Maybe try their site? Also, I know they’re on instagram. They respond on there too.
I like the foam cannon, is there a similar item that dispenses soap, for when you want to use a soap applicator on concrete? Or would this foam cannon work for dispensing soap as well?
Not sure of one specifically for concrete, but I guess this could work for that. Unsure of the soap you’d use for concrete though. Not sure if that soap would be compatible with a foam cannon as well.
I expected you to pay attention when watching my video. At around 05:20 I explain how to start it and how the choke works. Then pull just like regular old lawnmower.
Just bought one. Very nice video! Going to grab that foam canon and the foam! Question: Do you run it dry of fuel before storing it for winter or do you add fuel stabilizer? Also, do you empty it of oil before winter/storage? And how long is too long to run these machines? Thank you again for the video. Very helpful and thank you for the simple description with all the links to the products you used.
Glad my video helped. I haven’t done anything like that at all when I store it away in the winter. To be honest, I use it all year round here and there.
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed the little tips like lubing the thread of the quick connect to delay calcium deposits. Just unboxed mine and am excited to get started on my cleaning projects.
I just got this pressure washer today! Curious on how many Brass connectors to buy for this! Also for the foam cannon is it used to spray other things besides car such as concrete, etc?
I have one question: I know that it came without oil, and they sent that soft pack thing of it. Did you use all of that initially. I was afraid I overfilled it because there was a little smoke. I am hoping that is from it being new. Thanks so much for taking the time to respond earlier.
No. But, there are different nozzles (tips) that it comes with as shown in the video. You switch the nozzle depending on what you’re washing/cleaning. So, if you’re power washing your cement, then you use one nozzle. If your doing your car, use a different nozzle. If you’re doing your fence, you’d use a different one....etc.
Home Depot customer support tells me that this can siphon the water out of a bucket. I’m needing to use this where I don’t have access to a continuous water supply. Have you found this to be true?
Can you do a video showing your quick connect hose setup? I tried using the Blue Hawk Quick Connect Kit and I could not get the hose to clear the base of the pressure washer. Thanks!
I’ll see if I can do one, but in the meantime, here’s what I have. I only use orbit all brass quick connects. I have a male end on the Simpson and female on my hose. 2-Pack Orbit 58117 Brass Hose Quick Connect Set www.amazon.com/dp/B00M0UJOJQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_QonTBb3JZ0GJ2
Hello! I was wondering about the SIMPSON MegaShot 3000 PSI at 2.4 GPM HONDA GCV160 . Is that a good power washer to start a small business? Where I live I will be doing small bits of area not really full drive ways but it may come to that eventually.
I have 3 cars and use them for detailing all the time. Use the off white nozzle and you’ll be just fine. Different nozzles for different applications. I’ve been using it since I made this video and have not had 1 issue.
I just bought this washer and a foam cannon and soap from chemical guys quick question if I just foam cannon and then rinse with a fan tip is my vehicle gonna be clean? Or do I still have to use a micro fiber mitt? Or towel to wash the foam in then rinse?
Awesome! one question.. after you use the foam cannon nozzle to soap your car what nozzle do you use to rinse it off? I have the same pressure washer and I want to wash my tesla.. will this 3200 pressure washer be too harsh? Thanks James! I liked and subbed!
Use the white tip! It is not too harsh. Been using mine for a few years. Caveat, if you have a paint chip, don't get up close and just bast it. It might then remove some paint.
Have the same pressure washer, i hsd the choke on but it dies out as soon as i try to start it, but if i leave the choke off it starts up and runs fine. Mind you it is 80+ degrees. Is this normal?
The foam cannon says it should be used at a max of 3000 PSI. Is it safe to use at 3200 PSI? I have the same Megashot as you...did you have to decrease the pressure somehow first?
"The Cannon works with any gas or electric pressure washer. Never exceed 4,200 PSI with either cannon. Minimum 1.4 GPM; 2.0 GPM recommended; Never Exceed 5.3 GPM."
Hhmmmm. That’s odd… make sure it’s tight. Maybe you need a little rubber gasket ring inside? They’re like 5 for 2.00. If it’s the part I’m thinking of. Super easy

That’s awesome K C! You’re going to love it.
Hope so heard a few negative reviews about the pump 🤞🤞
Mine is still going strong! Worst case if you have some concern, get a extended warranty.
Will that cannon work to apply soap on a house instead of using the soap tube it comes with?
Hello, what is the amount of fuel it takes and how long does it run on a full tank?
I don’t know the answer to either question. Maybe on their website it tells the size of the tank?
Mine is not working. I follow all the steps, when I pull the cable nothing happens would you happen to know what’s the problem with that?
Did you pull the choke out? If you have gas and oil, keep trying. If after awhile, nothing? Then exchange it I guess
Nice video, just bought one because of the Honda engine hope it last!

I forgot what it’s called, but it’s meant to hang there just like that. I believe that’s a overflow of some type. You’re good.
It's for adding soap/cleaner to the water. You put it in a soap bottle. Don't have it connected unless you're actually using it for soap.
Since this unit does not come with a tank for detergent, that hose is meant to go in a bottle of cleaner.
Cool video, quickly, did the soap bottle come with it or did you buy separately & where from?
The foam cannon? I bought it separately. The soap used in the video? I bought it separately. Everything is in the description.

Yes, you use it all.
