- LUBUAGAN IN KALINGA WAS THE CAPITAL OF THE FIRST PHILIPPINE REPUBLIC FOR 73 DAYS IN 1900.
Hidden away from plain sight, the town appears suddenly as you turn a corner.
From Sagada to Kalinga is a much improved but still fairly dangerous ride through an impressive river valley - we follow this today!

Hi Kumander Daot, I’m from Lubuagan, Kalinga.. indeed Lubuagan was once the Capital of the Philippines during the time of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo. The Spanish were never able to rule this part of the Philippines. Back on March 6th, 1900, Emilio Aguinaldo actually
declared Lubuagan the "seat of government" of the First Philippine Republic. For 72 days, this place acted as "the capital" of the country!
That’s why he has a statue near our Plaza to commemorate the once Capital of the Philippines.. Thank you for featuring our hometown in your vlog! Come visit again to see other beautiful tourist spots here in our municipality, Lubuagan, Kalinga😄
Watching from the Lowlands!
I'll wait for you here in Bulacan :)
See you soon lowlanderrrrrrrr!
Hello Kumander, I feel happy that your subscribers keep on growing in numbers. Despite the depression you went through, it doesn't seem obvious that you went through it because you're a very cheerful person and your positivity is very contagious. Keep up the good work. 😊

Truvia: Ancient warrior's gongs, for most tribes in both Cordillera and Sierra Madre being head hunters, have handles made from enemy's jaw bone. And when you say warrior, it is not cofined to male. 😊
Stunning views! They are so spectacular! Those terraces are an engineering marvel.
I've enjoyed your collab with Boy Perstym (aka motor-vlogger/influencer). So sorry Boy P had to leave you at Kalinga, but it was the only honorable thing for him to do after crashing into your motor. lol!😝😝😝

😎👍🇵🇭🤿! Thanks for the video!
It was once a territory of the headhunter tribes over hundred of years ago. Spanish then occupied the place and the major Filipinos from the plains were given chance to occupy and dominate the place developed into towns.
KD your video is amazing!! A lot of hiway improvements😁 I visited Sagada and Bontoc 25 years ago…the roads back then were not paved.. Sagada back then had no accommodations for tourists; we stayed in the hospital for 1 night as we had no place to stay😁the locals were very friendly… btw the hospital had no patient at that time.
The hospital! I saw that! Crikey haha
@@KumanderDaot The hospital was clean but we encountered a jumping/flying spider😂
Another wonderful adventures for KD❤
Wow, I didn’t know about the missionaries…
Your awesome KD never seen the Cordilleras Thank you for documenting Sagada and Kalinga .

Keep safe KD. Thank you for exploring and teaching us. ❤
Enjoy K. Daot !!! I the last time I've been thete was after typhoon ompong , i think 2017 , we travelled almost the same route as yours. We had medical mission and delivered relief goods on diffetent ateas. I wish I could have stayed longer , but I will be back. I like to stay at least a week to enjoy the fresh air/ climate and immerse myself to its simple but very industrious people.
The Cordillera range...too near from LU yet too far, still a bucket list for me, i only scratched much of Baguio City but soon expand what conqueror KD has shown us, nice vlog for future trips. Nice drone shots of Halsema highway btw...
I love your travel vlog videos KD, they're of National Geographic caliber, so professionally done.
I worked at National Geographic (in the photo labs) back in the 1970s and agree. I once asked one of the editors what it took to become a NG staff photographer or get a freelance assignment. He told me there are thousand of photographers with the same photographic skills but what then looked for where people who could find interesting stories and have the skills to tell them in addition to their photographic skill set. Kumander is one of those rare individuals.
Kumander daot😃👍🇵🇭❤️💛💚thanked you for the vlogs stay safe...and God blessed

😮whoa! Kalinga beautiful place
Thank you Commander daot for featuring our neighborhood kalinga ❤️❤️ from Ifugao
😮wow historian, vlogger what else amazing travelogue very educational kumander, be safe and careful
My first trip to the Philippines included Baguio back in 1993 Apr/May
Unlike other nearby places, the road here is very tight and narrow making it hard for the incoming/outgoing vehicle to share and the other side of road is cliff which is really dangerous.
the cordilleras changed you Anselm! you are now uploading almost every day, editing with the speed of light, do they have something in the water over there?
It's the mountain tea 😁
@@KumanderDaot bring some to davao!
I miss this place..thanks for vlogging it...u know that some of the history of sagada, there's also a.british blood on some people there..one british missionary lives and married igorot women there..he teaches English, that's why some people there speaks fluent in English..
Way back mid 80's never seen kalinga .i know lot of missionar there.😊
Thank you for visiting our home town Lubuagan. The church was built by the american missionaries during 1900 and the first catholic church built in the province of Kalinga
As you explore different regions, you can immerse yourself in the local culture and learn about the historical significance of each place. With a rich history and amazing local accommodations, your experience will be cherished and memorable.
