This is so brilliant why are we not doing this all over the world. Think of all the wisdom our children could be learning from these people if we had more places like this think of the history that would not be lost.
Love this! Our seniors can get so lonely and loose hope and reason to live. With laugher from little one can bring such joy to anyone. And what great opportunity for the kids to learn from their elders
It always makes me sad to see people just dropping off their old people at places so they don’t have to take care about them and forget about them. Unless someone has a physical disability that they can’t take care of an older person, I think it’s wrong to make them go somewhere away from you. They taught you, they took care of you, they gave you inspiration, they gave you stories and tales, some of which you’ll always remember. Even in a good nursing home, it makes me sad to think that some people don’t care about their parents or grandparents and don’t want to take care of them or at least visit their house very regularly. There are other cases of why people don’t care about their parents like my in my uncle’s case, where his father was a terrible and very money hungry person who stole from everyone and backstabbed everyone who ever cared about him. He died alone and sad in his giant house, because he burnt all his bridges and connections. But I think for most people, you should take care of the elderly, not leave them in some home where most of the time they are sad and visited rarely. I took care of my grandfather and now I watch my grandma. (I say watch because she can care for herself and she does lots of dangerous housework and garden tending that an 84 year old shouldn’t be doing, I help her though and advise her when she is doing something dangerous, though now she never tells me and I often find her on a ladder cutting tree branches or changing the amount of water in the pool.)
A wonderful concept. But to truly implement it in Singapore, I personally feel that it will face some resistance here and there. I can imagine some singaporean parents making a big fuss abt their kids interacting with strangers. We need to be kind more but sadly progress is slow
In Germany we also dont do that. It is only that one single place that does that. Really sad since I would love that for my child or older relatives. So dont think this is common in Germany, it really isnt.
Sure, because when dealing with vulnerable groups of people in society especially little children, I find it quite dangerous to keep an extremely open concept and allow people from all walks of life to enter the place and be in close proximity with the kids. Furthermore, leaving the kids with the elderly without any professional supervision may complicate matters, as at the end of the day the kids are not direct kins to the elderly, and Any mistakes made by the elderly may result in putting the kids at risk, the more stakeholders who play a part in caring for the kids, especially if untrained would result in a higher probability of mistakes being made, possibly putting both groups at risk Nonetheless I think it is an extremely beautiful concept of putting these Two groups together as it can kill Two birds with one stone, both groups will be able to enrich their minds, the elderly will be able to live out their golden years in a more vibrant and positive way and the kids can learn from the valuable experience shared by the elderly. However proper measures must be taken to Ensure that it can function in a safe and sustainable manner for both groups of individuals
@@jegannicco6785 very fair point! You have to have a smart and capable person in charge who is able to keep an eye on these eventualities. I agree this is a beautiful concept and like with everything there are going to be problems, but you can not ignore the positives 😁
That is absolutely not common in Germany. Sadly that concept is very rare and Germany is for sure not the country that is doing things right here. I have seen that in many countries and always wished that we here in Germany would use that concept aswell. But like I said, sadly, this is the only place I now know of doing that.
there are programs like this in the states, but mostly for the elderly in facilities no reason it cant be spread to daycare and this would subsidize daycare for children studies have proven that combining programs is a benefit to both groups in both long term and short term the children gain socialization the verbal skills...the elderly show a decrease in decline both physically and emotionally
I would rather someone put me out of my misery than endure spending the day with children and being basically treated like a child. Nightmare scenario for me
That's your choice and I respect it. I myself want my own space and dislike screaming children running around. However, this world is made of different people. There are many people who are older but have a heart full of love and no one to give it to. Their children are grown up and drowning in jobs and they sit idle feeling unwanted. This program offers a positive outlet to those hearts... 💓
@@Vpradhan1991 that's very true and I agree with your comments as well. 😊 As long as people get to choose you know. It's difficult sometimes to be able to choose the situation you're in when you get old. I hope I am fortunate enough to get to choose!

This melts my heart ❤️. Please make this the norm everywhere in the world.
Seriously this totally pawns our Senior Activity Centre plus Senior Care Centre concept added together.
The presenter did a great job.
A couple of issues in having the same concept here, primarily cost and space.... but still a great way moving forward
Oh my I hope this enlightened approach comes soon to Canada. So good for the seniors, and the kids.

Awesome idea 🌻❤
This is really amazing
I wish the USA would do this idea and the children will have fun being with seniors creating joy.

I see a lot of possible security issues that could be raised with such a system
Jegan Nicco hi i’m interested in ur view! could you elaborate on why u feel this way?
