This is more like "The Real Countryfile", actually dealing with the pertinent issues for a change. Well done Olly, for bringing Countryfile back on message.

You explain the issues extremely well, keep educating the public whenever you can. Hopefully, eventually it’s going to make consumers and therefore the government take British farming seriously. Thanks on behalf of all the farming community.

Thats the first bit of BBC's Countryfile I've watched in months ! Proper farming content for a change. That would be quite a feather in your cap Olly if you pioneered commercial sunflower cropping in the UK, the infrastruture to process the oil is already near you !!

Hi Olly, you should have your own tv show to rival Clarkson’s Farm. You’re so engaging in everything you do around farming. Your smart with the double crop. Let’s hope you harvest in October.

Well done Olly, excellently explained - too few people in this country understand food security, we all need to understand and government understand and support. If not it will be too late and we will find millions going hungry ( all of which will be the poorest in our society ). Keep up the great content !!

Farming and water are THE most important businesses in the world! Farmers are trying their best against swamps of red tape and water companies are just about the profit for their investors and sod leaks and investing in infrastructure and new resoviours!

Great Country File story, Climate variability is a major problem here in Australia. We are currently experiencing a wet spring on the back of floods earlier in the year.
Do you cut a strip in the sunflowers just to let people walk through the fields for interest sake and photo opportunities? When we grew them here we had lots of people wanting to go into the paddock to get photos.

How can you call it drought? There's still lots of feed around and even green grass!
Come to Australia and learn how to become moisture managers for your cropping systems - take that back to the UK and you'll be right!
