If people ask me why I'm still making videos, why decided to start studying Marine Biology, why I want to spend my life researching these animals... It's to show these kind of messages. It's an awesome video and I truly hope it makes a difference!

It's too late for Tili. He died without ever again feeling the ocean's waves, just a cold concrete tank. Small wonder he attacked and killed those women. Let's avenge his death by setting Lolita and all the others free now! We helped Keiko taste freedom already and nursed Springer back to help so she could rejoin her pod after being lost from them for a year dand we must do it again and again until all orca dolphins feel the sea!
As we speak now actually, people are negotiating with Miami Seaquarium to rescue Lolita and rehabilitate her in a sea pen in the area where her family lives.

I was a child when My family went to SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida. It was 1977. During the performances one of the Orca became angry and refused to perform. I remember Him circling the pool, slamming himself against the wall of the pool. He injured himself, blood tinged the water. They stopped the performance and cleared the stands of people. He kept swimming in circles. It was very sad and very disturbing, and I realized at that point that this was torture for these beautiful animals. It makes me sad to remember it, 45 years later.

I do feel we can release Lolita. We know her pod and her mother is still but only just alive. I have a really bad gut feeling Lolita is going to di in 2021
Morgan would die if released. You do realise that when she was found, she had been seperated from her pod because she was deafened probably by a military exercise which detonated charges in the sea. If you want to see her released then that's quite cruel. I am not in favour of capturing wild animals for captivity, but I am just as much against people spouting trite without doing the proper research.

I have a hard time expressing the emotions I feel when seeing these majestic and gorgeous beings in captivity. It’s heartbreaking what ppl do for money.
I teach Environmental Science to high school students. We have watched "Blackfish" and I will be showing them this video too! My students love orcas as much as I do. They want to go boycott Seaworld for a class field trip. Orcas are such amazing creatures and the deserve much more than being imprisoned for our 'entertainment!' I was fortunate enough to get to go to San Juan Island and see the Southern Residents. It was incredible! I wish everyone could see these families in their natural habitat! So much better than seeing them in an aquarium!

You are not advocating animal welfare, you are advocating an orca euthanisation program! Not even that, make them suffer first, alone and hungry until they starve to death!

Shows you and Dr. Visser know alot to think a deaf orca would do well in a pod of orca's that is based on vocalisations... might even explain her stranding.

This is an incredibly powerful short film, which completely transports the viewer into the real nightmare these Orca's and other captured animals experience! I would love everyone to see this and to appreciate the cruelty people inflict upon these animals! Keep up the good work!

@@ILaunchNukes I think Dr. Ingrid Visser can make better judgements since she is an orca expert. I've heard that "deaf explanation too, but those were the words coming from our Dutch seaquarium "Dolfinarium". There might not be subtitles but Ive heard the words...

Hello, Ingrid. Just saw you in a small documentary called "inside the tanks" from memory.
You're one of my biggest inspirations and I am proud to say I live in a country where no orcas are kept in captivity, (possibly if they are sick. I am from New Zealand (one of the most greenest countries in the world), and I have encounted many wild orca while out kayaking, one of them even let me pat its back and it was the most magical experience!
Anyways I love what you're doing, it is so important that we raise these issues. Keep doing what you're doing!

As much as I'm with this movement, this is life...WE ALL HAVE IT TOUGH IN THIS WORLD.
Ever since I was a kid I fell in love with these animals and it pains me to see them bieng used as puppets. The sadness can truly be seen in these beautiful creatures, missing the wild open oceans and most importantly there families. These creatures should be left alone and admired in the wild NOT in a fish tank. If only people could see the hard times these living wonders go through, and the work that people like you are doing for these creatures. God bless you!
Excellent. Nobody should even think about visiting Seaworld and institutions alike keeping animals who live in families or are used to wide ranges in captivity. The only thing you can learn there is about human selfishness and ignorance of the needs of other living beings.
People go crazy in solitary confinement. Imagine if that was your life. Seeing the video of Morgan smashing her own head repeatedly and crying is heartbreaking.
Just the beginning of this trailer and seeing the beautiful freedom had me crying because thats the life they should have. But they're locked up. This world is so cruel.

Hi Ingrid, you inspire me. You have made me fall in love with orcas. Orcas is my passion. I protested for Morgan as I think that captivity is wrong. I also sent a letter to seaworld asking them to free there whales. Thank you so much for helping the world see the right side in where orcas should be, which is there natural home, the ocean. Even watching back this video as this isn’t the first time I watched it,I tried to put myself in her shoes,whell,tail,I guess.The pov of the orcas swim in in the wild maid me feel happy,and then confusion set in when the stretcher appeared suddenly,and the tapping was so loud and obnoxious.You did a great job!
I saw Morgan in september. Her behaviour was very odd to say the least, I'm really nervous about her mental state at this point. It broke my heart seeing her like that. I'm so sad that this has been her life for the last four years. I sincerly hope her life will change for the better and soon.

How about all the millions of people who are educated and get fascinated by these animals because of marine parks? That value is larger than anything can ever be. Children, our future generation, need to know about these animals and boring documentaries won't do any of that. Real, face to face experience is what they need! We need marine parks and I will always support them for all the wonderful education and research they provide for both people, their own animals and the animals in the wild!!!!
Finally someone with common sense! But remember, you can't blindly support any marine park. Always be sure to do research, because places like Miami Seaquarium, Moskvarium, Chimelong Ocean Kindgom among others are very bad places where education is nothing and the animals live poorly

I'll never get tired of sharing this touching, eye-opening video with as many people as possible to help them know about a dreadful reality human beings cause. In so many aspects we have made hell from this planet for every living creature on it... May we human animals who love non-human animals continue volunteering in favour of the latter's Rights. This Universe we have been given to share with so many expressions of the same Mystery of Life deserves our best efforts to honor it. Thank you so so much for your work. This is so touching. How can people be so heartless and capture these innocent creatures and not see it from the animals point of view? I really hope that one day there will be a complete 100% ban on capturing any type of animal from the wild unless emergency medical treatment is necessary. This video made me cry.

I watched your video with GoPro not 10 minutes ago while I was surfing Pinterest on the topic of Orcas and I teared up every time I heard their voices. You are an incredible person. I am 17 and I live in Florida, USA. I feel called to tell you my love for Orcas so I hope you enjoy :). So I had cancer twice and fought from the time I was 2 to 9 years old. And during that time I fell in love with Free Willy, which I think I loved the story so much because I was, in a sense, trapped and in captivity my entire childhood inside the hospital. So a foundation called Make a Wish came to me and wanted to send me on my dream trip of a life time, and I think I was about 3 or 4 at this time, and I said "I want to see Free Willy on a big boat, but they sent me to SeaWorld instead, and I was devastated because the whole point of the movie was to free Willy! well when I think I was about 8 another organization came to me called Little Smiles and they sent me to Seattle, Washington to see Orcas in Puget sound. So there I was, a little kid on a boat with my harmonica in hand anxiously waiting to see some Orcas! Locals hadn't seen any whales for weeks so our captain was weary that we would see any, but by God's grace, we saw 70! 70 whales just happened to take a stroll that would ultimately cross our path! It still is one of my most favorite memories ever and I look up to people like you! P.S. I'm not sure if you get news about SeaWorld in NZ, but they are discontinuing Orcas in captivity, the current ones there are going to be the last generation to live in captivity! For some reason I can't see the end of your story, but from what I've read you are one brave kid. My iPad only shows up to the part where you say you got to go see the orca in Puget Sound, I hope you got to see them. I took a trip to Seattle but sadly didn't get to see the orca. Just like you I've loved orca from a very young age. Your story is very inspirational thank you for sharing it.

Dear Ingrid, my name is Virginia and I am 13 years old. I have had a passion for sea animals for basically my entire life. But it changed to a entire new level once the movie Blackfish came out. As i watched I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. 4 years ago my mom started explaining how captivity was bad and how parks like seaworld are bad. I was at San Juan for superpod 4 and it was a dream come true to so all the members of blackfish right in front of me. But once you stepped onto the stage I knew that you were amazing. After your speech i was in line to buy a free Morgan shirt and you were behind us (my mom, my aunt, and I) you said that you really liked my sea world sucks shirt and asked where i got it from and my mom started to tell you. all of a sudden my aunt turns around and says "NIKKI THATS INGRID" and my mom and i look up and kind of had a freak out moment. From that day my passion for being a Marine biologist grew and grew. Because I am only 13 i think of all the ways i am able to get information and education to others my age so i created a youtube channel. I know you most likely wont see this but i just really want you to know that you are my hero and you inspire me to keep pushing forward do do the right things.

It's bad enough for all incarcerated Orcas, but the one in the city where I live is in the very worst environmental conditions. Here at the Miami Seaquarium "Lolita" (formerly called Tokitae) is the same age as me, fifty and has been in that tiny concrete whale bowl by herself at the Seaquarium for 46 years as of this writing. She arrived at the park at 4 years old. Ironically, her tank is only yards away from the ocean which was previously viewable from the seats around her tank. Maybe this is why they added a decorative wall behind her tank; so that people will not make the association as I did that she belongs in the vast ocean. As a kid I was overjoyed to see her, since I've always loved underwater life, especially Orcas. At that time, she shared her tiny concrete bowl with Hugo, another Orca (male) that died from smashing his head on the wall of the concrete repeatedly, I guess out of desperation to get out. In my twenties, I saw Lolita again (Hugo had already passed) and I cried watching her breaching and having to bend her body coming down to avoid hitting the side of the pool. I also remember seeing her from the area below the tank, where one can watch her through the glass. The concrete areas were full of rust, water leaks seemed to be patched up with concrete, there was water all over the floor and you could tell from that perspective that the surface of the pool above is not at all the same size as when you view the concrete pool floor from below which was much smaller in relation due to it's curves like a fish bowl. I hear that underground area is now even closed off, it was in very bad conditions and probably remains so or even worse. No major repairs have been done to date to her tank after so many years. I do miss seeing Lolita very much but people say I shouldn't visit her, to not contribute profit to the Seaquarium, but then how would they maintain the animals if they don't have money from visitors? I would really love to see her again! A very sad, frustrating and confusing situation...
Dan Seabreeze Do not go back there but continue to raise awareness for Lolita, the owner of her continues to keep her even with the constant hassle from outsiders begging him to free her to her pod because he sees far too much money invested in her. If you stop the demand you stop the supply and this will eventually pressure the owner of that aquarium to free her! You are doing more good for Lolita if you never go back there. Protest outside the aquarium to raise awareness to others!

Excellent video Ingrid, raises awareness which is key. If attendance decreases dramatically SeaWorld will have to release them all. The funding for sanctuary sea pens I understand is largely in place, it would not cost SeaWorld anything to release them. The key is for us all whom care to keep educating everyone so no goes, thus no longer profitable. As well to help open people's hearts whom are working at SeaWorld the CEOs in US, Japan and Europe the board members so they start to develop a moral code and greater empathy for other species.

Morgan can be set free,also Seaworld has been pulling the wool over peoples eyes,these whales need to be put in seapens wild animals are not for humans entertainment.Also Seaworld is all around the world animals are been caught for them.

I Suck like alot ,and that’s where you’re wrong. These whales swim thousands of miles a day in the wild, do you think they can do that in their pools? Do you think they enjoy having to do tricks to even eat? Do you think they enjoy being kept in a desolate pen with no enrichment? Do you think they enjoy being forced to breed and having their babies taken from them? Do you think they enjoy that life? And how would you know that they like their trainers? Why do you think there’s been 4 deaths by captive whales? Why are trainers being injured by them?
I was one of this people that never saw sea world as anything bad. I really did think it was to help them. This video changed my perspective in many ways 😔

I saw Morgan in Harderwijk it made me so sad that i stood crying there next to her what was so bizarre because my dream of finely seeing a real orca came true but it wasn't the dream I wanted to see! So little and so not in the right place!! And then they sold here.. that made me so angry but I couldn't do anything about it, my life was like here's now trapped in a cruel world of the people! So it still feels like I've never seen a real life orca my dream is still a dream. I wished I was you thank u so much for saving them when u can! Love Raimke

okay, here is a quick rundown of Morgans true story.
she was found in shallow waters off the coast of the Netherlands, less than half the weight a whale her age should be. she was rescued and rehabilitated, brought back to full health. several independent marine biologists and orca experts, as well as government agencies examined her and deemed her non-releasable. it was decided she would be moved to Loro Parque, but because of a court case asking for her freedom, she was kept in her tiny rehabilitation pool, alone, for several more months, instead of being sent to a much larger facility with other orcas. eventually though, she was moved to Loro Parque and integrated into the pod. again, a lawsuit was filed and Loro Parque went to court. during this, Morgan's vocalisations where analysed in an attempt to connect her to a pod. they found a 65% match to a wild pod, but there was a problem. the pod had been seen once, in 2005. no photos or videos where taken, only audio, and the pod hasn't been seen since. it was discovered soon after her arrival to Loro Parque that she wasn't responding to whistle signals. to tests where done and she was found to be almost deaf. they switched the whistle signal for a light. this light is underwater in each pool and by every slide out. they trained this to be used instead of a whistle, on not only Morgan, but the other whales at the park. they did this so she wouldn't be bullied because she got special treatment. she has since integrated into the pod entirely, and is perfectly healthy, apart from her hearing problems. photo's are shown of various rakes, or scrapes on her body, as signs that she is being bullied. but in fact, this happens in the wild. and whales much younger have been seen raked significantly more.

Morgan was lucky.
It's no wonder the poor thing tried to commit suicide. I can only imagine what this must have done to her psychologically. This made me cry so much. I can only imagine having been stolen from my home, my friends, and my family. Having those memories making me depressed and lonely. Desperate to escape the small enclosed world that I was forced into. It has to be aweful for her...
When I was a kid my dream was to go to Seaworld because I wanted to be able to see the whales that I love so much. I never got to, so I decided to watch a video of their shows on RUclips. When I did I couldn't believe how miserable the animals were. And it was so obvious that they were all unhealthy, medically as well as psychologically. I remember promising myself that I would never encourage this kind of treatment to any animal.
I hope that Seaworld keeps their word and stops breeding and capturing the orcas.
Enough to make Morgan go mad...well done! It is a horrible existence for such a magnificent animal!
