      The CERB is for people that have been unable to work for 14 consecutive days due to COVID. Sounds like you may qualify but please check all the eligibility requirements before you apply online and make the best determination for your situation! Thanks :)

      Nick’s Taxes How is it clear that this person lost their job due to covid? It is far from clear that this person qualifies for CERB.

      aisha yaqoob you passed the income threshold and cannot work due to your children being home. If you were willing and able to work and couldn’t find a job due to COVID, you can be eligible

    • @amyseaden9069
      @amyseaden9069 4 года назад

      aisha yaqoob it doesn’t sound like you actually lost your job due to covid. Were you employed in a March and did you lose your job due to covid? If mat leave ended in July 2019 what have you been doing for work since then?

    Hi. I lost my job on 20 march. After 10 days ,i applied for EI . After getting my access code on 10 april , I applied EI on 16th april and got my first EI of 2000 dollars. After 4 days , i got another 1500 dollars. So in total 3500 dollars. Am i getting overpaid?

      I got that to if were only supposed to get 2000 month most people on ei would get more than $500 than why would anyone want the $500 cerb?

      @@Andy-lr8qp are they gonna fine us or apply extra intrest. Because , in our head we are eligible for this but if something comes out in future that they say you are not eligible then it can be a problem

    • @Andy-lr8qp
      @Andy-lr8qp 4 года назад

      Not sure I hope not don’t want any extra headache xD they’re only paying 2000 without tax so really like 1700 I was getting over double when I was working but I get that they can’t pay to much :p

    Hi
    Is someone who is on vacation and got stuck in india for a month, now eligible for this benifit?

    • @NicksTaxes
      @NicksTaxes  4 года назад +1

      ramya a hi there. So the only rule I could find is if you reside in Canada. So I think you could still apply if you’re stuck in another country due to the pandemic but I am not certain. Stay safe and thanks for the question

    Hi ... I had a car accident on July 10, two cars hit my car in the back and I got injured and then I got paid for the illness from July 14 to October 26 and October 26 - until February 1st icbc paid for my job loss. But I'm still sick. I have a lot of back ache and neck pain. With the closure of the school due to Covid 19, I am now caring for myself and my children very hardly.I have not quit my job although I have sent a doctor's note for my work. Please help me I have no other source of income ... Am I eligible for CERB? I’ll be really appreciate it

    • @NicksTaxes

      Pawan Canada lowered the minimum earning requirement to $1000. So if you earned more than $1,000 of income in 2019, you can be eligible!
      I’d encourage you to check the website for more on eligibility and application steps! :)

    • @nitu323
      @nitu323 4 года назад

      Nick’s Taxes I think u don’t understand my situation I already explain I earned upto $2000 a month before my accident

    • @NicksTaxes
      @NicksTaxes  4 года назад

      Pawan www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/benefits/apply-for-cerb-with-cra.html#who take a look at the requirements. Although you earned enough income in 2019 it sounds like you did not stop working or lose your job due to COVID 19. Sounds like an issue of short or long term disability.
      If you check the website and are still unsure, I would recommend calling the CRA to discuss your specific situation

    • @NicksTaxes

      Gane Prettyfeild I think you’d be better suited to apply for EI given the length of time you’ve been off.
