I'm glad to see the .25 cal finally come out. That's some nice power at 300 yards, I expected it since I've seen pellets at much lower speeds go through a board at 150 yards, there's plenty of power in those for hunting, and with accuracy like that, pfffft, what else do you want?

Unbelievable accuracy and power I think you will be more comfortable and confident when you use this setup for long ring shooting and never been worried about wound your target I think it's gonna take him down right away

I've gone through all these comments and something struck me: there always a few folks out there who hate anything that's not manufactured in the US. People should admit that FX have brought so much to the airgun community and have made our hobby evolve a lot.

Nice, I still feel it's very likely to shoot a slug accurately at 1080 FPS. The huben K1 Gen 5 does the 36 grain NSA slugs at that speed full penitration on a 2x10 at 50 yds . 195 on the regulator.
Excellent Guys, over here in England we have to jump through so many hoops to get a powerful airgun and even then it has to go on a certificate which could take six months. As a result there arn't that many guys shooting these and good informative videos are there. So! keep it up, us shooters in GB need you to get that info across. WELLHARD THANKYOU.

Ok, what is this barrel "FX Superior STX Liner" compaired to the FX Slug liner. I purchased a .30 slug liner a couple months back with an approx 1n17" twist and it will not shoot slugs very well. Every-time I turn around its another new and improved, when I thought the first round was supposed to be the king of the throne.
Agree. I have the 25 cal Dreamline with the standard pellet liner. I'm going to see how well they shoot in that before I order the new liner
100%FACTS! I'm totally done spending money on these BS supposed new features from FX! I Purchased a brand new M3 and the thing shot like💩! Then they told me I had to cough up a shyt loud more money for a stupid additional barrel in order to shot slugs accurately, but they did tell me that before I spent $2200 on the damn airgun!😡

Never fails. Ordered a now inferior .22 pellet liner and an inferior .30 slug liner last night from Straight Shooters, then this morning get an e-mail from Utah Airguns about the new "Superior" liners. Seems like I am always one step behind when trying to keep up with FX. Oh, well. I did place my order this morning for a 700mm .25 "Superior" liner a a few boxes of slugs. Nice to see that the "Superior" barrel prices do not cost any more than the inferior.
Hard to keep up with the new stuff that FX comes out with. Wait a year and they come out with something that obsoletes everything before it.
Another way to look at it is for a measly $110 you can try other twist rates and chokes across their various liner offerings for both pellets and slugs. Try that with any other platform and you're looking at more like $300 or more for totally different barrels and the machine work often needed to get them to fit. Just sayin'.
Wow, I was going to order the 30 cal on tomorrow but now I have some serious thinking to do. I have a priest 2 premium and SK 19 both 25 cal that’s why I was thinking 30 cal. Is that a factory Utah air gun tune? Seriously nice shooting and great info in this video.

Very impressive. The next test I would like to see is exactly the same, except using half an inch of Pinewood, which I think represents the thickness of a skull in terms of a hog plus ballistics gel behind it. At different distances just to see at what distance the slug starts to lose energy, hope you’ll do it.
Got some to try in my Marauder and I am getting three-quarter in groups at 35 yards at 865 fps
@Benny Silin about a half inch with pellets if your thinking about getting some they feed hard in the Marauder but they do not hard
@Benny Silin I have a impact in 22 so I hardly ever mess with the Marauder but these slugs give purpose for it again

Awesome video Rick. Nice shooting by the way. I can shoot out to 600 yards at one of my gun ranges. I don’t think my set-up would allow me to shoot at that distance. You shooting through a 3/4” piece of plywood crazy and lethal. Try the 1” piece of pinewood when you go out there again.

Great video fantastic information provided for us before buying these slugs. In the UK lol,it's 12ftlb or f.a.c now most only have the right to 12ftlb for pest/vermin control. Could you do a test of a 12ftlb rifle into what ever you like at 50m distance?

So I just bought the wildcat mk 2 in .25 but haven’t gotten it in my hands yet. Would love to see you throw these hybrids in the wildcat. Curious if the regulator can be adjusted enough to get these shooting at the upper 900s for better grouping with the hybrids.

what did you come up with a BC number ? What was the slugs fps out of the barrel with the gun you used for the 3/4 inch ply wood ? And was the chrony reading you showed at 12:40 the 571 fps what the for the 300 yard shot ? With the 2 fps readings you should be able to get the BC . Set a brick in from of the chrony to keep the slugs from hitting it .

IKR! My .357 Pitbull ("unleashed" mod) is ready and waiting. Already killer with JSB's, NSA, and Aeromagnums. JSB Exact 77.6 gr are smoking out of there at 1100fps and sub 1" at 50yds so I have idealistic hope for the Hybrids....we shall see.
Got FX Hybrids and rushed to test them. Well: 5MRAD dispersion at 10m, could not hit the paper. Also I had to push them reaaaaaaaly hard to get them into the breach. Artemis P10 with replaced barrel.
Scary Black Rifle Some guns I’m finding they are tight . They are designed for FX rifles but do shoot in other guns . I’m doing some testing in other guns to show what guns like them in a video coming up .
Great video and DATA. It not only shows energy for ethical kill shots. It also SHOULD educate airgun shooters of the massive power left in these slugs and pellets. This is why I have said how important it is to be safe on their permissions as not ruin air gunning!!! .177 for anything less than 10lbs IMO. saves all of us and them.LOL

Makes sense they penetrate better at slower speeds due to less speed/expansion. Would be curious if they would over expand on say a hard headed hog at close range and not get into the brain pan???

I have to say I am disappointed you did not show the expansion of these slugs into the ballistics gel. These slugs are based on the design of the Rat Snipers slugs which were known for great expansion. There is only one other slug make that gets great expansion which is the Griffin make with the LDC core. I tested those and the FX .22 cal. Hybrids into small blocks of the Clear Ballistics that weighed the same as a pigeon. Both those slugs had great expansion. If what you are looking for is penetration then stick with the Nielsens and the other brands that really don't expand that much.
GunPowder&AirPower The point of the video was penetration at 100 , 200 & 300 showing people the energy left in the slug at those ranges we already did a video on expansion on the hybrid .22 something different this time .

I will say in your other video you did the expansion testing in clay which is much denser than the Clear Ballistics Gel and will give an inaccurate expansion as opposed to the gel. I will be getting some of the .25 cal. Hybrids soon and do some of my own testing to see the results and pass on the information. Thanks Again

At 571 FPS the slugs still have 19 ft lbs of energy. Enough to easily kill any 50 lb animal. The only draw back is the price of these about triple vs a NSA slug but you can use your pellet barrel. And the NSA slugs are fairly easy to find in stock. We get tired of searching for ammo right guys??? Try the 26 gr NSA at $19 for 325 slugs start shooting them at 920 FPS in your stx pellet barrel.

It's very entertaining to see reviews like this but I can't help but feeling skeptical because this is the kind of review that is obviously selling and promoting a product, in this case FX. So, I don't know how much of all this is true... No intentions to disrespect.

There's something i don't get.. A lot of videos talk about a slug liner in the FX line.. Will these hybrids not shoot correctly out of anything else? I'd like to try them but i don't wanna mess up my gun... In your professional opinion,would these be ok to test in my Hatsan gladius .25 or would that be a big no no?

If I calculate the bc from the intial 1020 fps and the data from the chrony at distance I get bc values in the 0.05-0.06 range. I know it depends on weather conditions and velocity but can it deviate that far from the claimed 0.09?

Why not try budget guns like .25 gauntlet with slugs and show people how they do cause not everyone can afford fx guns for the price just buy a badass real gun.. I have a hatsan flash .22 tuned at 43fpe and a pp700sa tuned at 26fpe both love the 23gr h&n slugs. Not saying dont do fx videos i love watching them but everyone that use the slugs on RUclips use fx guns show the people what budget can do be different
