Hello, I've got a question about the topic at timestamp 28:28 Even though Client 01 and 02 have different subnets, they are connected to the same switch, and both IPs are in the same range of possible IPs for both devices. So couldn't they actually ping each other in real life? My understanding is that a host checks the destination IP against the list of possible IPs in its (the host's) subnet, and this list is generated by looking at the host's own IP address and subnet mask. If the destination IP is outside its subnet, it'll send the packet to its default gateway, but in this case, both host's IPs are within each others' list. Is this not correct?
