I love UOs! About 2 years ago I bought 6 UOs from an older woman who had moved in with her daughter and family. They didn't have enough space for her entire collection and several orchids had lost their tags during the move. The 6 that I purchased were all mature and had previously bloomed. I payed a total of $50 US and actually ended up with 8 orchids because 2 of the pots actually had 2 different orchids in them. What a score!🎉

This year, inspired by you, I got a tolumnia without knowing which one it is. Looking forward for it's blooms 😍

Your co-host orchids are gorgeous 😍 I have purchased a few no id orchids from the local big box store but they were in bloom, just not brave enough yet to go the full mystery route. If I did, I would be over the moon to see a bloom as stunning as your white Catt 🎉🎉🎉 Thank you for sharing your dreams, it was fun to hear them! ❤

I think my neighbor introduced me to her store bought Phal. that rebloomed for her in a darker space of her room and I was hooked!
Started researching at home and found a Nursery with exotic Orchids…killed it but it made me want to work harder to get the Orchid to grow and bloom! Came across your Channel and tried it again.
Behold!! The Cattleya and it thrived!! I was so mesmerized and realllllllly got into it.
Barrina lights, ikea shelves, humidifier! Found a really worthy grower, joined an Orchid Society and can officially state I dream a dream of nothing but orchids!!!

I loved hearing your dream story! I also now like to get mystery bunches of orchids from one of my favorite nurseries. They actually ID them when they send them but you don’t know what they are going to send you. Excess stock obviously. But I find it fun, like opening a Christmas gift. And the bundles are super cheap. So for me it’s a win win because I get to experiment with orchids I may not have bought otherwise and increase my collection on a tight budget.❤

Same here. Went from three phals to 60+ of many varieties this year doing exactly that. I got a crazy looking oncidium for Christmas last year and started digging through the varieties and got hooked.

I love reviving an orchid. Yes. Having the patience and faith that the orchid will survive and give you a bloom makes the wait and worry worth it. No IDs are a lovely surprise when they bloom and show their happy face 🎉

The word is priceless. I am saving an oncidium with only 2 tiny puedobulbs. I let it get root bound because I misunderstood the directions. And I had to cut lots of dry and strangled roots. Only a pair of tiny psuedobulbs and one dieing shriveled large psueudobulbs. I have new roots and it is growing. It is a growing process for me. Thx.

For me personally, I don't buy noid's if I don't know what the flower looks like. I don't want duplicates or something I don't like the look of. But I can definitely see the appeal of getting of getting a 100% mystery though.

No ID rescue orchids are both fulfilling once you've brought it back to good health and blooming, and very rewarding when you discover it's ID from the blooming. Wonderful anticipation!

I love to save plants, including orchids, it gives me joy and great satisfaction when I am able to bring them back to their full glory. I am following Mathew the “hello plant lovers” from Australia, he’s a great storyteller who strives with his passion for orchids.

I think the idea of seeking unknown orchids is to seek the evidence that you are now an experience grower. A novice would be scare of this approach. You are good to search for the unknown plants.

Dani I have orchids I purchased here in Mexico that were shipped to me from the mainland of Mexico. I have no idea what 3 of them are. Can you do a in-depth video on the pseudo bulbs of the different varieties so I can at least get them in the right category. None of them have bloomed in the over 3 years I have had them. Some how I haven't killed them! But I would like to make sure I provide the right environment so I can get them to boom. Thank you if you decide to make the video.

I missed out biggly on a local orchid collector selling off her large greenhouse collection for $5 Australian on Facebook. Her collection sold out in 2 days & I was sooo cross with myself.

I wish I had a variety to pick from, but my local flower shops only sell Phalaenopsis, however they are my favorites. I'd just would like some Talumnias, that's my dream.

Owww. I also have the same dream of a collector giving me some orchids because he/she doesn't want them anymore.. actually, it happened something in a smaller version once. In one of the meetings of the orchid club, I am a member, another member got an orchid that he didn't want, and he gave it to me. Unfortunately, I lost the orchid recently, as after having my child, things got very pressed. Sadly, I ended up losing many of my orchids 😢

Do you have any Spiranthes? Been researching odorata specifically, apparently it will swim permanently, and will spike from completely underwater
