Stephen: Chris! Elizabeth: John! Stephen: We were planning to rescue you! John: Wow Chris, Stephen and Elizabeth are so good at rescuing us that they did it while sitting on their asses for the last hour or so. Chris: Boy, you kids are advanced.
Did Chris really have to mention the special powers to the police? Isn't locking someone in a dungeon illegal, whether they have special powers or not?
I have fond memories of this series, despite its numerous fauts (which existed at the time not just in hindsight, comparing with what can be acheived with modern day special effects as, ohhh so many people seem to do... i gujess those same folks would criticise Geaorge Melliers for being so primitive with his special effects)... But one thing I had forgotten, or maybe I wasn't a goon show fan so much at the time, was the Grandfather mimicing Henery Crun so much. When he was opening the door to the shop for the p;olice, I kept expecting Minnie Banister to chime in, and then for the big Neddy Seagoon/Eccles/Bluebottle bit about getting in through the window to startup
The show had a truly pathetic budget. If they'd had say, the same budget as Doctor Who at the time, and similar length seasons, it would still be running today. Roger Price didn't help, he wanted a comedy series and Thames wouldn't give him one so he added comedy to The Tomorrow People. It ruined some very good stories.
Where are the cast members now? Maybe old and decrepit or deceased. I vaguely remembered this series: I knew that there was an older dark haired guy, a black girl who wore an ill-fitting wig but I cannot recall the younger out of the 3 until I check out this particular series today. Radio 4 brought me here because I think the chap who wrote the theme music recently past away. Thank god for youtube because I can every now and then have my memory jogged by these classic 70s children series.
Nicholas Young (John) played Dr Aldus Crick in the 2013 version. Philip Gilbert (TIM) died of broken heart syndrome after his partner's death. Elizabeth Adare (Elizabeth) quit acting and became a child psychologist in London Peter Vaughn-Clarke (Stephen) quit acting to become a lighting technician.
@@119Agent I think the only part of the UK that has seen use of water cannons was Northern Ireland, but a quick search does not offer a particular event.
Great show, you can see how it influenced Sapphire and Steel.
"Come here Priscilla" says Robert's grandfather to the dolly.

That car chase was very arbitrary. #😒

Hey, look at Chris! In the middle of all this plot exposition, he's fallen asleep!

magrathean - yes but Chris is not all that bright
they walled him up !
It's been bugging since watching the 1st part, but is the old shopkeeper guy the same actor as "Zathras" in Bab 5?
Time is falling now
