I went to a Buc-ees's in Georgia, and I get it now. They have a pretty awesome store, great food and plenty of pumps so you don't have to waiti around if you don't want to.
They are expanding to Wisconsin next year. Mid state, near the Wisconsin Dells tourist spot. My guess is it will be a much smaller store than the ones in Texas, but still, I bet they will do well
Hey Buc-ees consider Heber/Overgaard, half the country drives thru every year with no where to stop! Great corner on 260/277 and the locals would LOVE it!
Let me summarize Buc'ees for you 1. It's basically a Wallmart attached to about 120 gas pumps 2. Yes new locations are mostly 120 gas pumps 3. Their bathrooms are literally legendary for cleanliness. Crazy. 4. They are known for their Beaver mascot 5. They are known for having lots of "ice boxes" for ice purchase 6. They are known for their beef jerky. 7. They EXCEED Love's. 8. Once you visit, you will know why they have so many fans throughout the nation...well parts of it.
I drive back-and-forth on I 10 to California where I'm originally from and that would be heaven on earth to have a stop because I have to drive to new Braunfels to the nearest Buc-ees
To give a different perspective. Their business model is to suck up all the business on the interstate for 100 mile radius. So there will be one at mile marker 0 then another at marker 200. They do put up bill boards saying next Buc-ee's 70 miles. Some complain this puts mom & pop places out of business. It actually won't hurt them inside town much. But the small places & corporate, on the interstate that have gotten by with slop for food & filthy bathrooms for years, beware! BTW for those not familiar with Bucs, it is a very silly place but fun.
