Celebrating Big Butterfly Month 2023

As a part of Big Butterfly Month - India's district coordinator team for Mumbai, we joined hands with several butterfly experts and citizens of Mumbai towards one goal..Butterfly conservation 🦋💐
From the Mumbai metropolitan region, over the month of September 2023, using iNaturalist.org., the participants documented 1,284 observations covering 102 species. Across India, 19000+ observations and 480+ species were recorded by over 900 dedicated observers and identifiers.
During the last month I had a chance to visit different parts of Mumbai-Thane, making new friends at each venue and learning from our experiences. From The Mumbai Zoo to BNHS Conservation Education Centre (CEC), from Sanjay Gandhi National Park - SGNP |(Nagla block/Manpada) to Maharashtra Nature Park From INaturewatch Foundation to our favorite butterfly garden Ovalekar Wadi, each trip was full of unforgettable experiences.
