And in the Sumeru desert scene Paimon was by Aether's side pulling him along, while Dain just did a shoulder pat and was way ahead of Lumine, like he was focused solely on one thing (probably vengeance) and didn't have time to be emotionally there for Lumine.
Exactly my thoughts here. Sure Dain may look cool and mysterious, but that's all he has going for him as a companion to travel around with for who knows how many years; that kind of person would get depressing to be around if Present Dain is exactly how he was since Lumine.
I don’t know how to think about this. This is a whole different perspective you’re talking about. Lumine woke up 500 years before Aether, and did you forget what happened then? Dain and Lumine’s “home” (Khaenri’ah) had just been destroyed, and she lost her only kin in an instant. It’s not only Lumine who needs emotional support; it’s Dainsleif as well. Don’t forget that the Archons were also involved in that war, so their perspective on the Archons is different from what Aether and Paimon are experiencing. Aether woke up 500 years later and met Paimon, a completely unknown being (as far as we know, I guess?). He lost his memories and travels across Teyvat, meeting friends and helping the Archons. Sure enough, the only thing he worries about is Lumine’s whereabouts. But he has been reassured that she’s not dead. Two completely different perspectives, as you can see. @xOynesu Yea I get what you mean. Totally understand the difference in their situations. It was just a little bit of an observation cause Bran and I'm sure a lot of people are saying Dain is/would be a better traveling companion than Paimon.
34:40 excuse the essay but I gotta talk about this - Dain is not the better companion. Look at how lonely Lumine looks in this trailer… he’s always standing so far away, leaving her alone in open space. The difference isn’t between the siblings, it’s between Dain and Paimon. Paimon is always right there for the Traveler - even if some players find her annoying (and she definitely is from time to time), she is invaluable to the Traveler because she’s so willing to show them the love and loyalty that they’re currently missing. The abyss twin got a cynical, traumatised and probably very angry man who just lost everything he’s ever known, and the Traveler got a best friend who wants nothing more then to make them smile and be there for them. How wouldn’t it colour the twins experiences? We see Lumine standing alone in a forest where in a different reality she sees a girl dancing for her because she cares, but in this one Dain stands off to the side and is barley even looking at her. Meanwhile Aether has Paimon right there, grabbing his hand with a smile and helps him talk and meet new people. She is the Traveler’s voice - without her, it’s no wonder the abyss twin is so lonely. If they have trouble communicating with other people, Dain isn’t going to be for them what Paimon is for the Traveler, he has no will to do so. I really hope they expand on that difference between them in the new quest, and as a Lumine haver seeing her so lonely was ROUGH. I’m really excited to see what’s going on
After the short, i felt that lumine became the way she is now because she traveled with Dain. Dain hates the gods and this idea that gods are bad made Lumine join the abyss.
@@AashishPrajapati-nr2ox exactly! He would also have a really good reason to be bitter, and we know she saw the Calamity happening so it's really no surprise
Very good point. And this scares me as well. They have been subtly making paimon a little more paranoid each region that the traveller is gonna leave her for some reason. So i really hope she doesn't die or get seperated
That's a very good point, actually. Plus, seeing the flashbacks of the twins, we can guess that they were caring to each other, so there's a probability that the abyss sibling isn't used to the space Dain is giving them. Just a thought to add
1:04:00 About the little creatures being a little strange for the nation of war: In 3.7 we had a first look on the Nation of Justice, and it was a Slug skipping around the City. In only got serious on the animated teaser. Wait for it to see the scenary, characters and of course, Capitano.
It looks both like the Saurians hang out with their own kind specifically, and like their immediate environment has adapted to them (although some of that could just be to show off travel powers). Neither is that unusual for dragon-kin in this setting, and it may even be tied into why there are tribes and tribal conflicts.
@@blueveil3277 Apologies for the ambiguity: by "their own kind" I meant territorial to other Saurian races to the extent that it's possible some of the varied landscape we see is now a consequence of which Saurians live where. When you get down to it, a lot of Fontaine's ecosystem can be extrapolated by its producing Melusines, and Sumeru's cute Fungi creatures are pretty central to that environment as well.
Saurians are the Aranara and Melusines of Natlan, so they are designed to be cute for merchandising purposes. I'm sure Natlan has enemies that look like more like a demon/dark/bborne dragons as well.
On Natlan: First, I’d like to say this as someone descended from indigenous mesoamericans (not aztecs, but one of the only tribes they couldn’t conquer, the purepecha :)). I’ve genuinely gotten so sick and tired of seeing my people being depicted as war-loving savages. And I’m sure that people of African descent (which Natlan is also based on) feel the same way. So personally, I’m really glad Natlan isn’t a nation entirely of war. Also, think logically: In addition to the fact that this is literally just not the full map, Natlan is based in part by mesoamerica. Mesoamerica had a culture of war, but still had beautiful, lush environments, as well as impressive cities. If Natlan was entirely war torn, there would be no Natlan. People need places to live, and in cultures of war, (at least among my ancestors) it was agreed upon that some places are not to be touched. Anyways, don’t be too disappointed, there’s still so much we don’t know, and so much room to hope : )
The way a lot of people expect Natlan to be is proof that the Noble Savage narrative is just as present and influential today as it was in the colonial past.
I mean they do their research actually As a person from Nepal, I saw many Sanskrit and Sanatan reference in archon quest, many places names, world quest, npc and foods. I'm sure they won't do go to the stereotype but then Dori exists so I'm mostly hoping for good.
@@KakoThePoet Basically, the historical misconception that indigenous people or similar are inherently more "noble" in the sense that they are more egalitarian and kind and that the only reason they're now not as noble as before is because of either the arrival of colonizers or advancement in technology making the less attuned to nature. That's why it's a pretty racist trope.
I gotta grind through all five character quests i havent finished now because this livestream trailer alone has inspired me to clear more of my backlogged quests!!! Ahhhhhh Genshin is BACK
Did anyone else notice the motif in the song from the animated short was the same one from the Eternal Oasis in the desert? They also appear to meet there in the dain quest.
You know it makes sense that there are parts of natlan that are green. Volcano usually is a good fertilizer for plants and nature so, and it looks great! Plus I re-read the manga, and it stated that the people from natlan have spent on wandering in the seas of grass. And volcanic area is all the way in the west side. I assume the natlan teaser took place near the desert
34:42 even ignoring how utterly depressed she looks every single moment of her journey, Dain doesn’t exactly have a lot more to him than unresolved trauma. Meanwhile with us and Paimon, while there have been ups and downs on our journey, we always look forward to the next part of our adventure. When we see festivals, we’re wrapped up in the moment and looking forward to the next one. We’ve met so many people and made so many friends, had such magical experiences. Lumine/Abyss Sibling never had that. They were always alone, following along aimlessly behind a deeply troubled man with more anger and hatred than plans, only able to stew in their misery. Not take part in festivals or meet new people like we are. And no matter how divisive Paimon is, Genshin would feel a lot different without her. We’d seen in previous Archon quests how fed up the Traveler would get with people or even how much they just want to *leave* Teyvat, but Paimon is the one that’s soothed that anger and encouraged us to be a part of the world rather than a complete outsider. Our experiences in Teyvat are practically night and day compared to the Abyss Sibling. They’ve never once mentioned any friends on Teyvat, only calling Dainsleif a traitor and focusing more on their plans for the world. Imagine if we were in Lumine’s place here. We’d never meet Amber, Razor and Diluc or Beidou and Kazuha or even Yoimiya. Try to imagine that. Just wandering Teyvat with no friends, no true connection to the world besides one very bitter man. So I very much appreciate Paimon’s presence. I appreciate how often Paimon thinks of the Traveler’s needs and even how she’s usually the one at the start of each event or story quest to pose the idea “Huh, it’s been a while since we’ve seen ____, maybe we should pop on over and see how they’re doing?”. Because clearly Paimon keeps track of such things, and isn’t afraid to give us a push to see our friends. I don’t see Dainsleif doing that. He’s very goal oriented. He doesn’t seem to care much for the journey, only the destination. I’m sure Dainsleif would much rather encourage us just to keep pushing in through the journey because stopping to see a friend in a previous region is counterproductive to his goals. I can really see why the Abyss Sibling would turn out the way they did if their “journey” was so empty. Like, imagine walking from… let’s say France to Russia and just never stopping besides to rest each night. Not seeing the sights in any city between those two points, just a constant march forwards. That’s what Lumine’s journey with Dain feels like from this short, meanwhile ours with Paimon has us stopping in every city along the way, making friends and even backtracking when we feel like because there’s no real hurry. Russia will still be there even if it takes us another 4 years to reach it at our pace. Long rambling rant short, I really feel like Paimon should be appreciated more. And Dain is honestly overhyped. I feel people like him so much because his quests usually tie more into the Traveler’s story, not because he’s some incredible companion, but people consider him equivalent to the quests and that’s why they love him so much.
First, I wanna point out that everyone always says "Oh it doesn't look like genshin" in every single update, then people get used to it, then rinse repeat which is funny lmao. SECOND for the people who think Natlan looks cutesy and mid and not at all like the volcanic war wasteland you wanted, erm...it doesn't take MUCH brain power to know the ENTIRE region isn't gonna look like that. As bran said with the endgame stuff, literally just be patient and let them cook. Ya'll are SO quick to hate.

Dain Quests have always been mandatory for main story progression, but Inversion of Genesis/Perilous Trail/Crane returns to the wind, are not mandatory for story progression.
The reason Sethos gave "Hermes' vibe" is because in Cyno 2nd story quest it is revealed Cyno and Sethos was "gifted" with the power of Hermanubis, which is based on the deity when the combination of Hermes and Anubis, since there was a time Greek and Egyptian mythology "collided" which is why Cyno gave a lot of Anubis vibe counterparting with Sethos giving Hermes vibe
36:50 THATS THE BOAR PRINCESS!! Why does she look like Rosaria? And in the imaginarium theater, the character joining animation is the boar princess and a wolf. I wonder if Wolfey is based on the character from the story. Or if the Boar princess herself is the witch behind the theater, and the story told about her is what’s left after she was erased from Irminsul.
Guys you know to never Judge a nation by its teaser 💀 we've been through countless trumatic events and still the teasers show the happy sides of things/doesnt show us the whole picture
You were told that Natlan is a nation of war. But they forgot to tell it's a nation of races war. And now Capitano also joined the turmoil to drift amongst those rocks
I did imagine Natlan having a lot of different wishap species and territorial wars happening between different tribes but I did not think we ourself will be able to become a wishap and traverse terain like they do. That will make exploration so unique and sun. Jurassic impact indeed
The animation short was so needed in my opinion... it's about time we learn about the Sibling's relationship... we know they're travelling alot, is probably close but... so far (in my case anyway) I haven't felt how deep their connection is in any of the other quests except of the We Will be Reunited quest. I wanted to learn how deep their connection is and it to be shown in game. I hope they explore their sibling dynamic more in this patch
You look back on the past, the friendships and experiences you’ve had along the way remind you of your sibling, your purpose. The ups and downs of your journey only urge you to continue moving forward. Your hope to reunite with them fills you with determination ❤

About the animated short, sourced from a recent interview, the Genshin Impact dev team has decided to have an internal 2D animation unit so we really cannot expect this kind of quality/art style for the actual Genshin Impact anime collab with Ufotable unless both decide to get the new Genshin 2D animation team to help with the official anime. Would the official anime be good? Most likely since it's an actual animation studio that also produced the entire Demon Slayer anime and THE Fate series (idk if they did the whole Fate anime) but it will not be the same art style as the animated short. When is the Genshin official anime gonna come out or any updates about it? Ufotable, from what I've seen, only makes one anime at a time. Right now, they're entirely focused on the Demon Slayer anime and there's still probably 2-3 arcs (idk much about the manga so don't take this as a fact). The Genshin anime is NOT Ufotable's priority so expect the anime to take years to cook. Most studio's also don't make "updates" about the project, they just do the project announcement and then the actual trailer when the anime's done cooking. (this is just what I observed with anime production as a whole. again, don't take this as a fact)
47:36 Why is the Inazuma Yashiro Commission attending this? Aren’t they in charge of cultural affairs? They should’ve sent the Tenryou Commission, as they are the military/ law enforcement arm of the Bakufutsu… I hope at least we get to see Kujou Sara mentioned

Those Pokemon like creatures are apparently called Saurians (?) the Saurian Hat Event gives us hints about what exactly these creatures are. Do check that out for better understanding! Bran!
Paimon may be annoying at times, but she is genuinely the better travel companion. She cares for Aether, makes people laugh and is genuinely just a good friend. People like to hate on her cuz of her voice but if you move past that, she's an incredible character. I just wish they gave the Traveler more speaking lines so we can hear them talk to Paimon in game.
Ngl, when I watched the livestream when they showed Natlan sneek peek, I got distracted and had to pause for a sec so I missed the first part. By the time I unpaused I was like wtf is this and thought it was for a different game so I just skipped it... 😂 Now that I re-watched it, I realized that the first saurian we saw (the brown rock type) seems to be the saurian Ranjit was talking about in the second day of the current event. A saurian that likes to burrow and hang out in the mines of Natlan. We can even see ores around them in the video.
Imagine in reality, we don't have mounts, but like an ability that allows us to transform into a dragon. And we're able to swich which ones depending of the stuff we do.
Bran: "Oh wow, special program giving spoilers for quests". Yeah. Who could have thought. Not like it happened tenth time in a row or something. So hyped for Natlan! Definitely not what I was expecting lol. From the dragons to the landscape it gave me strong Land Before Time vibes not gonna lie xD
42:41 nah fr i thought i was tripping when i heard that because if it is then that's a great way of allowing weaker characters to get a little boost to make them somewhat better
The Hermes refrence makes complete sense, Hermanubis is the combination of Anubis and Hermes. Since Sethos and Cyno were chosen to inherit his will, it would make sense that they each took on a different aspect of him. Cyno being Anubis, and Sethos being Hermes
I think I might have some guesses for the Natlan teaser. The people of Natlan is divided into tribes right? What if those dinosaurs we saw in the teaser are actually members of specific tribes in Natlan. What I'm saying is that the people of Natlan might have the ability to transform into those dinosaurs and their transformation is based on which tribe they are from.

The resin cap increase is actually huge for me. Currently it takes about 21hr to refill 160, so that means I need to log in twice a day. Once I do all the daily and once literally just to make a condensed resin. But if the max is 200, it takes longer than 24hr to fill up so I only need to log in once a day yayyy.
if you don't know, the next Major update after Clorinde and Sigewinne will be around August which is when Sumeru and Fontaine was released so the next Major update will be Natlan with high chance.

If people's idea of latin america and africa are mordor from lord of the rings they have some serious issues.

@@ishansharma2463 if anything happens to Paimon I will cry but honestly it would be so good for the story I want them to do it
That's a very good point, actually. Plus, seeing the flashbacks of the twins, we can guess that they were caring to each other, so there's a probability that the abyss sibling isn't used to the space Dain is giving them. Just a thought to add
i quoting comment that i found interesting
"it might be all cutesy now but I remember what happened to Fontaine too I am not gonna fall for it 💀"
Their god doesn't have the title "God of War" for nothing. The other regions in that nation will be fucked up.
Given how it's already been firmly established that Natlan is in a constant state of civil war, I can't imagine it's going to be sunshine and roses.
Yeah I was not expecting Fontaine to be THAT dark
Yeah, hearing the region is in constant war, there's more to it.
Never fall to the marketing tactic of *that Hoyoverse chicken* again

1:04:00 About the little creatures being a little strange for the nation of war:
In 3.7 we had a first look on the Nation of Justice, and it was a Slug skipping around the City.
@@DanaOtken actually the new event implies that they are reasonably friendly to humans since the guy from the event made friend with some.
@@DanaOtken oooh... yeah, it does make sense.
@@rabenkonig6251 before i reply to that, could you elaborate please? : )
I mean they do their research actually
As a person from Nepal, I saw many Sanskrit and Sanatan reference in archon quest, many places names, world quest, npc and foods.
I'm sure they won't do go to the stereotype but then Dori exists so I'm mostly hoping for good.
@@KakoThePoet i really hope they do tbh. No disrespect but ppl just play the game and barely know about the countries mihoyo used outside as theme

Did anyone else notice the motif in the song from the animated short was the same one from the Eternal Oasis in the desert? They also appear to meet there in the dain quest.
Yes omg!! I haven’t heard anyone say this at all! I thought I was crazy LMAO

That's wrong. It's the motif of Vourukasha Oasis. Which looks entirely different
We can see the Sumeru 3.6 desert in the natlan teaser
Those are sauran maybe, dragons that live with humans, that's what Ranjit said at the latest event yesterday

Probably our transformation is just the regular tribe dragons. The War might be the giant versions of it. 👀
