This is one of the best cover drummers I have seen. He don't miss one lick on any song, I know these songs every note from the 70's and have played drums since the 80's and hats off to you Steve, you are good as a drummer as I've ever seen! Thanks!
Another well done. Really like how you replicate your drum tracks to keep them as original as possible. This is what I always shoot for when dissecting any song. Nicely performed and great fluidity.
One of my all-time favorite songs and you just nailed it!! I'm 49 years old and just started playing the drums and you for sure inspire me to get better! The way you keep time with your left foot is amazing and something I hope to learn. From listening the songs that you play, I'd say our taste in music is exactly the same. Keep making these incredible videos!!
Thank you for your kind, supportive comment! Welcome to the Drummer Family!! I have 450 drum videos on my channel in a bunch of music genres. I’m glad to know I am helping you learn to play the drums. I’m 59 and I started playing when I was 18. The drums have been a centerpiece of my whole life. Good luck to you!!!
@@SteveToccoDrummer Thank you very much! I appreciate it Steve. Btw, in your opinion, what style would you reccommend for a beginner? Moeller, push/ pull or something else?
@@dookey71 You're going to hate me for saying this, but I would learn a few different methods. Different playing situations sometimes call for different hand techniques. You can't go wrong learning the Moeller, push/pull and finger control methods. They all have merit in various music situations. RUclips is a great option for learning anything and everything. Good luck!!!!
Don't know if you are still reading this thread Steve but .... the great Jeff Porcaro (my favourite drummer of all time) said how tricky these one handed semi quavers were to play. So if he says it then it must be true. You nail it a treat. I could only play 'em on a good night !!! Greetings from the UK
Steve Tocco there’s no reason for you to be embarrassed, you’re an amazing drummer! Keep doing what you’re doing! Goals! It’s incredible, very inspiring! I haven’t played for 6 years almost, this video made me want to start again
@@SteveToccoDrummer thanks man!!! Wish I had the time. My dad was a drummer in his days. Why he never taught me or anything makes me mad now lol. Still kept these hand pounded cymbals zildjian brand. Guess they are worth bucks.
Steve, sometimes when I hear this song it almost sounds like a second set of cymbals are being used. Probably not but it sounds like it to me. I have heard two versions of this song. Both are great
@@bobjones8482 in a fair world, drum companies would recognize talented drummers and help offset the cost of equipment like MLB players and bat companies. But until then....
Miss you my friend! but love to see and hear you still hitting the skins!! BUT...... If i can ask, every great drummer, (which i put you in that category ) can we hear a killer drum SOLO? PLEASEEEE!!!
I'm a self taught drummer. The way I learn a song is to jot down the arrangement first--intro, verse, chorus, bridge, solo(s), breaks/stops, drum fills, etc. Include notes on how many measures are in each section. I also make a note of the tempo (beats per minute). Then it's up to you to get the right feel and eventually memorize the song. Drums are 10 times easier than any other instrument because we don't have to worry about chord changes and such. Good luck!!!

Did anyone notice the left drum stick ? It looked nearly splintered in half.
I use my practice drum sticks until they are nearly kindling wood. At $8 a pair, I use them until they disintegrate!!
Oh ok.

That's hard , I'm trying to play but I get lost, where am I !?
mmm that wear on the stick is great, you know its seem some action
This song is not a very easy one when you add in that hi-hat chick. You executed it perfectly though. Nice work.
Is there anyway I can get the recording of just the drums??
I don't record my drums separately from the original track. Everything is recorded simultaneously directly into my camera. I'm sorry I can't help you.
this is s tricky song to play...up down some big spaces to contend with good job
