    This was lovely, Paul. What a beautiful place in the frost. As always, really enjoyed the commentary, the footage and the images. I think the photo you cropped to show the pretty grasses behind the bird, is gorgeous. I like the Corvid family - they can be very amusing and intelligent with it!

      Crows are just fascinating! I'm quite partial to a Rook.. Thanks for that feedback on th photo. The grasses were very nice indeed

    Crows are really cool, but it's so hard to get the details because they are so dark. That looks like such a cool place! Thanks for letting me tag along!...

      Yee, that's true. I usually overexpose about a stop. Glad you enjoyed it.

    Massachusetts has been real cold lately, not much snow. Moving to Maine tomorrow though, much colder, but a lot more wildlife! Love the video Paul, keep up the great work.

      Sounds great. I wish you luck with wildlife photography there. I'm terrible on U.S. geography.. whereabouts is Maine?

    • @raccoonjones4730
      @raccoonjones4730 3 дня назад

      @@PaulMiguelPhotography Maine is as close to the Canadian border on the east coast. I've mainly lived on the beach in Massachusetts, which is also on the East Coast of the U.S. Lots of plovers, Ospreys, Heron, and other like animals. I'm excited to move to a different location, and thank you for the kind wishes !

      So envious! Maine looks so beautiful with amazing seascapes and fantastic forest landscapes. It would be my first choice for a location to live in the US. The wildlife will be amazing. Hoping your move goes well and all the best for your future photography 👍.

      @@PaulMiguelPhotography Thanks Paul. We booked the trip to see the murmuration however it dosn't seem to be happening so far. Looking forward to the thaw & will get over to St Aidens soon.

    Great video Paul in fantastic conditions although very cold! Been like that for last couple of days up here and just love them even though they can bring contrast issues for photography. 👍

    I went out at 0630 this morning in similar conditions in similar habitat. Sat in a hide in the pitch black for over an hour to be rewarded by a Bittern flying in and landing right in front of me. My hands and feet were numb, so treated myself to a Gingerbread Hot Chocolate back at the visitors centre. At the visitors centre was a Water Rail, Goldcrest, Bullfinch and a flock of Long Tailed Tits.
    No Marsh Harrier, the reserve isn’t big enough, but like yours a beautiful morning out.

      Bittern.. wow! In front of you.. that's incredible. You well deserved your hot chocolate -it's satisfying when you've earnt it like that. Could I ask which reserve it was?

    Enjoying this video, i went out early yesterday to a local reserve, lake and scrapes all frozen, not a single duck on any of them, on my way back to the carpark i managed a couple of long-tail tits, and a first for me a Goldcrest, both on my new 150-600 sigma, couldn't wait to use it.

    Could i ask what lens strap your using as im in the market for one. Love the videos keep them coming

    • @PaulMiguelPhotography
      @PaulMiguelPhotography  3 дня назад +1

      Of course. It's a black rapid strap, I'm afraid I can't remember which version.. it's fairly old I think. There are potential issues with these straps so I would definitely check this video where I talked about it: ruclips.net/video/9YuP5Uv-2Mc/видео.html

    I liked the 500mm picture. I notice you don't use it much. Is the 400mm f5.6 your favourite lens ?

    • @PaulMiguelPhotography
      @PaulMiguelPhotography  3 дня назад +1

      Thank you. I prefer to use the 500mm for sure, but it's very heavy.. so I probably use it more for my own shoots. The 400mm makes my life easier when filming videos!

      @@PaulMiguelPhotography I have the RF100-500 which I love. I recently rented a 500 f4 . Obviously it was great but the weight and the lack of flexibility convinced me that a big prime is not for me.

    There is no shame in taking pictures of crows. I paused your video to look up the difference between your Carrion Crows and our American Crows. Ours are very social and will get very close to you.
