I'm a player from Thailand. I love this game even though I've only played for 170 hours. But I've been waiting for this update for a long time. Thank you for your hard work. It's amazing.❤
I really hope you guys did justice to compound turbos in this update, i.e. surge point is now at the previous pressure ratio squared (where a single or twin turbo setup would surge at a 3:1 pressure ratio (29 psi), an equivalent compound setup will surge at 9:1 (118 psi)), boost can be significantly higher without knock or with worse fuels because of the extra stage of intercooling between compressors, significantly larger turbos can be used on small engines, and the overall power curve ends up being essentially the quick response and high low end torque of the small turbo with the high end power of the larger turbo added on. Compound boost has actually been around a lot longer than most realize, Alfa Romeo used a compound roots supercharger system on the 159 Alfetta in 1938 to create 450 horsepower from a 1.5L engine for road racing. Absolutely incredible what's possible with compound boost.
In some applications, especially aftermarket, people have put wastegates after centrifugal superchargers to allow them to reach the desired boost level at a lower RPM
Cant wait to play it and make some supercharger upgrade Kits for my engines! Im really intersted how much work itll be for me to Update everything seeing that my database currently is over a gigabyte big
hello. i'd love for you to add back in the centrifugal supercharger + turbo twincharing option that you showed in an earlier build. i know it makes no sense but the game lets you do other silly things all the time so it'd fit right in haha. plus having left side be turbo right side be blower could look neat in an engine bay.
If those silly things come at no real cost to us, that is perfectly fine and we're willing to add it. This is not the case here however: it is a huge amount of extra work on the art side for something that is just for shits'n'giggles anyways :)
idk if i'm dumb but I keep having an issue with the sequential and compound setups where i have maxed size intake and exhaust and they are both at 150%+ utilization even when i'm running less than 20psi... and on sequential setups my stage 1 turbo seems to make it harder to spool my stage 2 so much so that its better just to run a normal turbo setup. love the game and much awaited update just wanting to know if i'm doing something wrong or what's up. thank you for the great game =) *EDIT* i am actually having the intake and exhaust restriction problem on all high performance engines, will this be fixed or is this intentional???
@@AutomationGame the spooling problem was my fault I had my turbo sizes backwards. Intake and exhaust are still very restrictive though most power I've been able to make is 2,200hp @3900rpm any higher rpm and that's when the restriction chokes it. thank you!!!
Question, we be able to go below 25 percent throttle on the engine tester thing? It seems like at lower RPMs you can only run at full power due to this right now.
The test simulation will always run in such a way that the engine will always be making net zero or net positive horsepower; engines with high friction values (small displacement and lots of cylinders, basically), engines with superchargers, high cam settings and low balance masses will have much higher idle values. Also, we had a bug with supercharged engines specifically that was double-counting friction, which wasn't helping!
Do you know why whenever I export the cars they over heat immediately when touching boost? I built a 1300 hp twin charged car all the airflow 10 speed auto methanol making 40 psi after the bypass of the supercharger. Just over heats immediately
Just got it, made a test car, ran it round the Nurburgring in BeamNG.....everything feels different! Workflow is kind of weird as I was paging back in confusion "Where was transmission again?" once I'd configured all the pages.
@@FearlessLeader2001 turbo is short for turbosupercharger. they were originally referred to as such because we only had superchargers for 50 years before they became common and they really were just turbine based superchargers. metallurgy wouldn't be there to make a reliable gearbox for a centrifugal supercharger affordably for another decade or so
