CHAAND cinema was not there when I was growing up in my Ludhiana. In 1975 I was teaching in the USA. This is the first cinema hall where I see religious touch (idols). In my cinema halls (Minerva, Raikhy, Naulakha, & Deepak), gods were kept out of the sin places.
Going to see movies was considered a very bad habit and if you are caught coming out of a cinema hall, then a thrashing was a must. How wrong were my elders, they did not realize the positive influences of the cinema. To me cinema was
    1. A source of knowledge of world events (NEWS REEL)
    2. A break from the daily drudgery of poverty; a trip into a fantasyland.
    3. Many morals to learn from the stories.
    4. An attempt to become all -round; not only a bookworm.
I am a living example of a child who was a frequent cinema goer and did very well in education too.
Thank you, Dr. Shripaul Ji and Mr. Bhola Ji
