Very thorough and useful review once again Marlon, thank you!! Also, the processing of the sponsored segment is simply genius, it's the only time I don't skip forward :D
I got it today and it really does have a good use case in mixing. I can see myself using this fairly often - even if just to make small improvements to my mix. From my test it seems mike a great tool to use on my drum bus or to bring out some interesting dynamics when layering multiple synths in one bus. Usually i use a little bit of compression to achieve this, but this plugin can achieve a great effect without adding too much colouration to the sound.
Thank you for your videos! I really like that wether they are sponsored or not you always keep it honest and real, that’s something I’m sure we all appreciate 👍
I think it needs more EQ bands for the sidechain and I suspect Waves will release a more detailed paid version soon, like they've done with a lot of their other freebies.
yeah, no, sort of. This really is a compressor but the overlap with auto eq / resonance supressors plugin is there. The difference will be in sound for sure.
@@redvividwouldnt it be more like Bloom? Bloom is a multiband compression tone shaper, you can do the same things with like Fab Pro MB but its just way easier with Bloom
People always say this, but in about a decade of using waves plugins, ive done this once, with some plugs I've been using for a long time. I just rebought the new version during a sale. This is one of those complaints about Waves that doesn't bear much scrutiny. But sure, use something else, if you've convinced yourself there's a problem
Most people dont use the use the pay for updates plan. they run the version they bought, its usually bug free or fixed within the 1 year they bought it.
If you could just get rid of your update plan, many more people would buy your products. I saw other companies even using this as a sales argument, that you never have to pay for updates. They are basically advertising not to be waves.
@fuowl666 you know that companies are never ever be able to uphold that promise, simply because of the cost involved in maintaining a product. Why do you think many plugins will have a version 2 or 3? Its not just because of adding features, its because of keeping the revenue coming in. Different means, same outcome.
@@andrewkerridge2565 Sort of, but if you dial in right portion, it is useful and good. And at least 200 USD cheaper. Not a Waves fan, but these are good free plugins if one’s have taste for good mixing.
don‘t listen to the haters who „produce“ enough to determine what is a good plugin and what not, but complain about a 100€ fee a year. not earning that much with that music of yours hmm?

The acoustic guitar example was crazy! That's a damn solid freebie IMO.
@@aldo_pinheiro oh no. Its no longer free🫣
Yes, and I got it for free today. But I haven't tested it yet. Thanks for the review.
Great review, cheers! Looks like they're spreading that Curves Equator technology across their new plugins.

Think of this plugin as Waves C4 with an AI twist.
cool video. I like your style. subscribed
Awesome, thank you!

Last year's freebie didnt get a more detaild version, and I have no info it will happen anytime soon , ot happen at all, with this one. But who knows.
UNLIMITED BANDS 🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥
Sounds sort of like Wavesfactory Equalizer, no?

how does this differ from curves equator, don’t they function the same if you dial down the knob enough on CE
Sound like the description of it too.. lol
A multiband compressor sounds like a multiband equaliser that relies on a sidechain? Not really, no
Any one else recognizing the Bela Lugosi's Dead drum beat? Nice.
I thought it was Down with the Sickness in bossa nova style 😢
@@ApexErich Yes!
It's Soothe and alike basically?
@@bixenter not really. Soothe has way more bands and you have more controls.
@@redvividsoothe lite?
@@DavidKfilmmaker more like soothe lite mixed with OTT lite since it's more a multiband compress than a EQ.

Can't wait to try the live mode vs TEOTE.
They do not make installation into a user friendly experience
Fuse compressor by minimal audio?
No
Thanks for the video, Marlon! Cool product!
This is useful.
Sounds good to me, I’ll have it 😅
Waves will probably hit you with an "update" plan fee in a year. Great plugins but I'm not going to pay a perpetual hostage fee.
You know you never have to use that update shizzle of them. I still happily use v11 versions.
@@audiotoolshedSome of my Waves plugins are still on version 9 and they work flawlessly.

It kind of sucks the life out a bit. I think it’s got a bit of an identity crisis… it’s not pleasant compression and it’s not soothe

That's because he overused it. You can dail it in however you like. Slow down the attack and the dynamics come back to life.
