i have a hunter sprinkler remote that won't turn on . the remote sends a signal , but nothing happens . i had this for about 6 years and worked perfect , now nothing. please can you help
Hi Eric. Perhaps the transmitter & receiver are no longer paired to the same channel. You may need to re-address the receiver. Give this a try: 1.Before setting the receiver address, make sure that the transmitter address is set to the address you would like to use. 2. Plug the receiver into a SmartPort® connected to a powered controller. When this is done, the receiver will beep 4 times. 3. Once the receiver beeps 4 times, you have approximately 10 seconds to send the new address to the receiver. Press either the GREEN Arrow or RED stop button on your transmitter to connect. 4. The receiver will beep 4 additional times indicating that it has learned the new transmitter address and will respond only to that address from this point on. If 10 seconds expire before either button is pressed, the receiver will beep once and retain its original address.
I have this remote and use it a lot. When I turn on a zone with this remote it only stays on for about 5 min, can the zone time be adjusted? If so how do you increase the zone time?
Great question, Galen. You have the ability to adjust the amount of time that a station will run once it has been turned on by your ROAM Remote. This does not affect the run time programmed into your controller. There are 10 preset run times from 1 minute to 90 minutes. To change the Remote Activated Station Run Time follow the steps below: 1. If the unit is off (no display), power the transmitter up by pressing and holding the Mode button for 5 seconds. The transmitter will first display the active station. 2. Press the Mode button once and the Run Time icon is displayed (default is 2 minutes). If more than 10 seconds go by without a button being pressed, the Transmitter will revert back to displaying the active station. 3. Use the UP and DOWM arrow buttons to change the Run Time to any of the 10 settings ranging from 1 to 90 minutes. Then do not touch any of the buttons for 10 seconds and the display will return back to the active station. Hope this helps!
Hi Donald. This remote should absolutely work from your living room (assuming the controller is range). Keep in mind the remote is for manual operations (start/stop.etc) and not for programming purposes. An alternate approach, and perhaps a better solution, would be to replace the controller with a WiFi controller so that you fully access and control your sprinklers from anywhere. Give us a call if we can help. -Andy
Yes. There are 127 different channels. If you plan to use the same remote, with a receiver mounted on each of the 30 controllers, you will need to relearn each device when you access each controller..otherwise, you can take the receiver with you, and attach it to each controller, using the Smart Port.
Thanks for your question! It is possible to leave the receiver plugged in permanently, but the receiver doesn't fit inside the controller with the door closed. You'd need to find a second protective cover for the receiver. Generally speaking, you would only use the remote to trouble shoot the system, so you might use it the beginning and end of a season and maybe once or twice over the course of the year. If you're wanting to regularly be adjusting your sprinkler settings and testing your zones, you might be better served with a WIFI controller, providing your WIFI reaches far enough out into your yard.

I have a hard time going up and down stairs..can I use this to control the system from my living room? Or is it just for servicing ?

Can you leave the receiver inside the controller plugged in permanently? Or do you only need to plug it in when you use it?

Will this work on the HUNTER ICC? I have the ICC and not the IC2. Thanks in advance
Unfortunately the ICC was sunsetted in 2011 and the ROAM Remote is not compatible.
