Dan Croll songs are really AWESOME!Like wh y isn't he more popular.I mean, his song was in GTA V.
In my mind it's about how he feels pressured to let someone continue down a path even though he doesn't believe it's a good idea, and the chorus is him being defensive about not doing something ridiculous himself
It's poetic and I love it whether my interpretation is accurate or not

Maybe this is really obvious to everyone else, but I kinda get the impression that this music video is meant to be satirising social media. There's the camera with legs, always watching (and it reminds me of the Instagram logo). The red-haired guy is exhibiting his life, trying to impress others and put his appearance on a literal pedestal. No idea what's up with the legs with eyes. But then there's the part where the guy eats a camera, and his hands turn into giant "like" symbols, straight from Facebook. But after all that the guy seems to reject the whole concept of social media. He pushes the other guy out of the way, gets in a rocket chair, and blasts off. Finally, he takes control of a giant robot version of himself - maybe relating to abandoning online social presence/addiction, and literally taking control of who he is.
Or, maybe it's just a trippy video. Either way, great song, and awesome animation.
At this point I guess I'll never understand how to properly interpret a piece of art :v

In an interview he expressed having a need to get away from the media and the perception that came with it of holding up appearances I think ya hit the nail on the head

I discovered this song, ironically enough, while living in Tokyo for a while. Was a really special night when I did. Such a great song that reminds me of my truly amazing time. Gosh I miss Tokyo.
I remember listening to Dan's songs when I was a little younger. This guy's so underrated! He deserves more recognition!

I Remember listening to this back in 2017 or 2018 and I wanted to share this song with a girl I loved, I didn't tell her I loved her, its probably my biggest regret but at least I know she's okay now and we both heard this song before we went our separate ways in life. Thanks DC.
