  • Hey Everyone!
    So my old, modified UAZ 469 has just been sitting out in my hedge, for way too long, and it was time to try getting it fired up and driving again.
    Still a bunch of issues and things to do.
    But that really seems to be a never enging story with this little offroader.
    If you want to see the overhaul of the ignition system of the other UAZ, heres a link for that:

    Здравствуйте. Сам являюсь владельцем УАЗа. Это очень подходящая машина для Сибири. Лучший мотор для таких машин УМЗ 421.

    What a fun little truck. 🙂
    Dont get too frustrated with it, it has obviously lived a hard life.
    The 555 tractor is turning out to be quite a good recovery vehicle. 👍

      I am actually planning to expand.
      Problem is, that to extend or put up buildings the legal way, there is sooo much bureaucracy involed, that it just takes enourmus amounts of time, and becomes really expensive. even if i'm just building it mysef. (wich i'm not even necessarily allowed to either)
      So i'm still trying to figure out how to get it done.

    J, i am actually surprised how it didn't rust through since 2019... then again, knowing what good care you give to you cars i shouldn't.

    if there is a blockage / potential debris in the tank and supply line maybe having the filter before the pump might prevent particles getting into the pump and destroying it...

  • @noelwhittle7922
    @noelwhittle7922 11 месяцев назад +1

    It will be where the big flexible hose goes to the smaller solid tube where the old fuel filter used to be. That is the place where crap will accumulate and cause a blockage.

    Jeg har før haft problemer med en bil hvor den ikke fik nok benzin. Efter lang tids søgen fandt jeg ud af at det var det helt nye benzinfilter. Plastik-hætten der sidder på selve papirfilteret indeni var svulmet op, så den lukkede af indvendigt i filteret.

    Have you thought of replacing the engine in the UAZ 469 for off-roading?
    A petrol alternative from Toyota or Suzuki engine would make it lighter and stronger and easily available parts.

    • @KJOff-Road
      @KJOff-Road  11 месяцев назад

      I have, yeah. But the thing is, that depending on the type of competition we might want to enter, some have rules that state, in the lower classes, the the engine has to be made by the original manufacture.
      So if we did a swap to somthing completly differet, we would be bumped up into the next class, and have to compete with some wild rig's :)

    • @Frank-Thoresen
      @Frank-Thoresen 11 месяцев назад

      @@KJOff-Road That explains it well. Are you allowed to make larger cylinders (if sleeved) and change to stronger components? Do the engine need to be completely original factory spec?

    • @KJOff-Road
      @KJOff-Road  11 месяцев назад

      Well, that also depends on the class. but in the one that we aim to be in, we are allowed to tune and modify the engine. it just has to be the same manufacture and same number of cylinders. (there are more details on it, but thats the simple version:)

      @@KJOff-Road Could you make a video about the topic and give us some insight on the car, engine, mods and the competition class you are driving in?
      Maybe make this a build-up for the upcoming competition. This might be a good content for your channel 🤞

    was that a small fish swimming around the bottom of that fuel filter?

  • @LogitechXibanga
    @LogitechXibanga 11 месяцев назад

    I think that you may be getting air on your fuel system every time you shake that tank the fuel may get rock in to one side and letting air going inside the hoses, and then gets stuck on the fuel filter creating backpressure, at least it was what it looked like when you press that manual pump, fuel was not going in the filter it felt like air was pushing back, the pump worked right after you disconected the filter. You may be getting air on your tak after you grind the seal. But then again im no mechanic and dont understand mechanic stuff but it does not sense being dirt cloging it, if it was dirt once cloged it would be always cloged, this just happens when you rock that tank very fast and hard.

    • @rchobby1979
      @rchobby1979 11 месяцев назад

      Fuel tanks never are air tight, they need to have a breathing valve or pipe to let air in. Otherwise you would have a vacuum in the tank while fuel is consumed. So definitely the fact the cap is changed is not the issue.
      But yes this seems to only happen when rocking the car heavily. I guess there is something in the tank which blocks the fuel pipe connector. Probably when blowing through the hose the blockage was removed.
