One of the sweetest songs sung by one our country's most talented musical theatre actors. I am always reminded, when I hear this song, of the things that were important to me, us, when I was young, a child, and how these things should still be important to us even though we are older. Hopefully, we never completely lose those things that made us think, back in the day and really were, important to us. So simple.
I saw a talk show where they showed a clip of her singing as a teenager and she was definitely great but you can definitely hear a huge improvement in her voice since her training. She's friggin amazing.
She is beautiful and talented. She started out modeling and Broadway In 2002, she released her debut solo recording entitled "Let Yourself Go," a collection of old standards from the 1930s and '40s.
She started out on Broadway before 2002, she was in the revival of You're a Good Man Charlie Brown on Broadway in 1999 for which she won a tony for best featured actress
Actually, the 1999 cast was the Broadway Revival cast. Kristin played Sally Brown. And for "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit" fans, Linus was played by B. D. Wong (psychiatrist George Huong on the show). If you listen to the song "Happiness", one of his lines is [Happiness is] "tying your shoe for the very first time". I picked that it was him before I ever saw the cast list, he just sounded exactly like he does in SVU, even though he was singing!!
You are quite welcome, I just thought it was really special and I'm very grateful to have found it. It's wonderful that Charlie Brown and Wicked finally brought her the attention and the audience that she deserves!!
No, she was part of the original BROADWAY cast. It started out off broadway, and then moved to Broadway in 1999 and Kristin was part of the first broadway cast
But in the meantime, thank you very much for uploading this. I actually remember seeing this. This was the year that Sparky passed away. Yes, that's right, I was a fan of Kristin's BEFORE Wicked AND ALSO BEFORE You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.
Whether as Sally or G[a]linda, Kristen knows that 'Sparky' and Baum (as consequently Maguire & Schwartz) made classic franchises that make millions happy...them being Peanuts and Wizard of Oz/Wicked.
would anyone know who would have the clip of kristin chenoweth singing at the Kennedy Center Gala for the tribute to Julie Andrews?? I believe she sang the Mary Poppins song.... supercalifragilisticexpialidocious song... not sure if i spelled that right..
Do you have the rest of the performance where Kristin does a speech about Sparky and David Benoit does a medley of Peanuts tunes including "Linus and Lucy" by Vince Guaraldi, "History Lesson" by Dave Grusin and "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" by Clark Gesner?
It sounds like she does, but I think it is probably more than likely the video quality because the picture isn't the best either. Not a slam on the video at all, it is a great video, a great song, and it's sung beautifully, but the quality isn't as good as some others.

We did this show when I was a sophomore, and I was Sally. Even though o got to do 'My New Philosophy,' this was always my favorite.
@CommonSence2008: YAGMCB was in 1999 (the original musical was in 1962) and Wicked was in 2003 (Wicked was penned in 1995).
You are quite welcome, I just thought it was really special and I'm very grateful to have found it. It's wonderful that Charlie Brown and Wicked finally brought her the attention and the audience that she deserves!!
Ohhhh, that was beautiful! I cried at the end when she said, "You're a Good Man, Charles Schultz". :'(
No, she was part of the original BROADWAY cast. It started out off broadway, and then moved to Broadway in 1999 and Kristin was part of the first broadway cast
KC went to my high school 6 years after I did. My nephew had a class with her and said she was always fun to be around.
Thanks,I will look into it!!

@beachbabe8871 actually, the company sings this song, it's the finale of the show
This song defines my parternal grandmother.

I'd like to see Alexis Bledel play Sally. She reminds me so much of Sally Brown :-)
OMG where the heck did you dig this up at?! LOVES IT!
Actually it found me, it was on a dvd marked Wicked Stuff.
I don't know-- wish I knew. Just stumbled across it.

No, I wish I did. If I happen to find it I will be in touch.
@beachbabe8871 Basically everyone sings it. Everyone has their own little interjection, but Charlie is probably the most prominent.

No, you had it right the first time. Kristin. :)

actually I think it was from 'A Capitol Fourth' several years ago
On the site of the musical it says Anthony Rapp. Sorry I was wrong. As soon as I wrote it I thought nope that's not right.
@beachbabe8871 The company. It's the finale
Everyone does :)
Yes, and she plays sally.
