What are your period perks or disadvantages?

As a male, illy’s vid helped me understand periods a bit better. Respect to women for having to go through this.

I heard a story about a guy who went to the hospital because his daughter was bleeding, and the doctor said she got her period. He screamed at her that periods are fake and women just use it for attention. And when a male doctor confirmed it, he screamed "its a conspiracy!" and left

One of my friend’s boyfriends thought having a period was literally 5-10 minutes of bleeding and then business as usual. He thought it was called a period because it was so short… explaining why people say ‘period’ at the end of a sentence. I mean??? I gave him a slight pass on the naming of a period because we’re from the UK and say ‘full stop’ at the end of a sentence rather than ‘period’ to mark the end of a sentence. You should’ve seen his face when we told him how long periods actually last on average as well as what endometriosis and pcos are. Moral of the story, EVERYONE needs to be educated on the body; it’s not only scientifically important but it also encourages empathy. (We thought it was pretty funny, though).

The whole bleeding on a chair in school is the reason why I’m happy that the chairs at my school were almost all red

My mom told me a story about her friend who got her period at school and went home, said "I love you mom, I'm gonna go die in my room." and went upstairs 😂 thankfully, before getting my period my friend and mom educated me about it so when it happened I just got a pad and I dealt with it.

Wait, I used to suffer every month, get fever caused by too much pain, overdosed painkillers few times and started getting mouthly shots to stop pain, before my doctor put me on special meds that helped (no pills). HOW THEY DIDN'T TELL ME THERE'S A SICKNESS LIKE THAT!?

"picos" is Spanish for, I believe, "spikes". I suppose that's an appropriate name for PCOS?

I count myself lucky and blessed because the lead up to mother nature's dropkick is usually moodiness and loss of appetite. When she strikes hard and true, it's a tolerable lower back pain and/or cramps with a ridiculously heavy flow. It seems tame and mild compared to what my friends, family and coworkers endured

I started my period at 9 YEARS OLD. And aside from the first round being light spotting, I have spent the last 17 years with irregular, painful periods. My hormones were So borked that I was Physically Ill. One time, in my fiance's dorm room, I got such bad hormone sickness that lifting my head made the world spin. I struggled to keep everything down, until they made me a serving of rice made in chicken broth mixed w a lil alfredo sauce (gross sounding, I know, but I was starving sick and desperate, amd it actually tasted ok).
