    Hawking your business to friends and family can turn them off on you. I agree with asking for a referral but only after you have had the client a while.

    Great day!
    I am Joel by the way, I am a breadwinner and a self supporting student at the same time. Due to inevitable financial crisis I worked in a BPO company while studying. I feel a great sense of pride in the knowledge of working while at the same time studying.
    However, Recently I got sick and was terminated, it frustrates me because i no longer have a job and our electric and water bill, went insanely high and i am supposed to pay for that since I no longer have a father and only got my mother, she owns a mini store but it is not enough to pay for my expenses while im studying. Moving forward, I heard about my friend working as a free lancer or VA and luckily got a client. I am hoping that any one here helps me to become a VA. Sadly, I don’t have laptop which is also essential for my research, thats why im trying my luck here. Rest assured, I will do my very best, im coachable as well and is willing to go above and beyond to achieve certain goals for ky prospective client. Btw, I have also studied various videos about whats does VA do.

    What tip concerned me was going to former employers to ask for referrals. While I can't say that I've burned bridges with some, there were many places where situations happened that made me relieved when I finally was able to leave for good. I've done volunteer work - is it okay to ask there for references?

    • @ErinBooth
      @ErinBooth  3 года назад +1

      By no means do you have to approach pervious colleagues or bosses. I think asking for references from volunteer coordinators can work but ONLY if the volunteer opportunity was in some way related to your work. Does that help?

    • @ErinBooth
      @ErinBooth  2 года назад +1

      Awesome! First, I'd ask your manager if it's ok to include his review. If he says yes, a typical way to include someone's name is to only use their first name and last initial. For example, if I gave you a review, you'd post my review as from "Erin B."
