I’ve practiced acoustic guitar and singing for 4years now after playing guitar a little 20years ago and most days I put an hour or two in but as soon as someone comes in my room to listen I go to shit for the first 5 minutes atleast until I settle. Also you need to practice more difficult things because it’s tempting to carry on doing what your best at

But it takes that slow burn of dedicated and focused, intentional practice every day. Extremely difficult to maintain through life events, vacations, problems in family...etc. Dedication to this level makes you an artist 100%.

Do you feel like that one hour is sufficient? Look up John Williams the classical guitarist. He never practiced more than 45min to 1 hour a day..but…he said it would be the most efficient practicing. I had a guitar teacher who was a big advocate of this idea. He said some of his other students would boast about practicing 4-8 hours a day but they weren’t really practicing. He referred to it as “finger dancing” just fretting notes aimlessly and mindlessly (which is good for dexterity) but Williams would work out a game plan before he started and it was the productive most efficient practice. Not a wasted moment and. I noodling around. In his case that proved to be more successful than hours of aimless “practicing”
He would say “practice doesn’t make perfect.” Instead “perfect practice makes perfect” there’s a big distinction between the two. He is one of the best classical guitarists in the world so there’s something to this.

That's hard if you've a job, friends to catch up with, family to stay in touch with, a partner to share time with, other hobbies and trying to exercise as well
    I try 4 hours a week lol
