I will be watching this with interest. I would really like to try printing a 3PO to go with my R2, once it is done. I understand that you can’t sell or give away the cleaned up files but maybe you could offer them to the seller when you’re done so others could benefit from your work. Just an idea.
Hi Gordon, Glad to see you taking this one on as well, I have been working on this same project myself the past few months. Already finished the torso, head, biceps and forearms etc.. Let me know if you run into any issues, I would be glad to assist. Already printed the torso, biceps and forearms. However I will be adding your belly ring and arm pistons (In stainless steel, will be curious to see how they come out) on shapeways. There are lots of inaccuracies with them. Almost looks like the 3d files came from a toy or something. Some of the greeblies on the model seem good though... at least at first glance. Hard to really tell without measuring them.
originale file 3d of hand for exemple is not good quality...I have find free pieces of C3po in good quality except the hands and the legs .. I begin a project of C3PO animatronic Half SIZE But I have big probleme to have the good Gold effect chrome..
