    Beautiful model ! I just got the new thinline T7TV in Sunburst from Sweetwater the other day for $659. Weight is an issue for me so thankfully my thinline only weighs 6lbs 10oz ! No they are not Telecasters.. it's simply a "T" shape...technically I suppose it would have to BE a Fender but the appointments on many of the Sire models are amazing for the money. My T7TV also has a lovely cream binding... has staggered locking tuners, compensated brass saddles, bone nut, and gotta love those rolled fret edges.... It's super resonant. It also has a 9.5" radius although I prefer 10-12". They come strung with Ernie Ball 10s. With the right settings, I can get it to sound as Spanky as a true Tele... Hope you're enjoying your Sire...I'm enjoying mine !

      Hey thanks for the heads-up... I didn't even know that the T7TV existed! I was playing my Sire recently and got to wondering about the switching that Sire has going on in the T7FM. It's a 5-way switch that does some coil splitting things. I opened it up and there is a super-switch inside. It appears to be a 24-leg 5-way super-switch. I think those are like having 4 independent switches in one switching mechanism. Those still baffle me a bit... Yours should be a bit simpler with the P-90's and a 3-way switch, but I bet you'll get some really sweet sounds out of it... Thanks for watching!

      @@RaymondLandis After watching a newer video on Andertons channel on the new J series and the 2 new thin lines I went for the single coil vintage model...I wanted the single coil model since I have a PRS with humbuckers (split coil though) Weight, as I get older, has become an issue so I've been looking for an affordable lighter thin line. Mine weighs 6lbs 10oz. The T7TV does not have P90's...the T7TM (modern) does however.

      Thank you, you're too kind! I pray that you are blessed in your endeavor to acquire one of these Sire T7FM guitars. This one remains one of my favorites and is on the top rack of my collection. The one thing that is so impressive with this is its switching within that 5-way blade... Well, then, there's also the fact that it stays in really great tune! You're going to enjoy it... Keep the faith! ...in Jesus name, amen!

      It does have a lot of appeal. My only challenge is that the roasted maple is quite dark. For a color-blind person, I find that I can get lost on the neck. Maybe I will try some inlay stickers... That way I don't do anything invasive on that beautiful neck.

      Yes, I consult with my wife before making any orders for a new instrument, but she's usually okay when I order parts on my own. I just ordered a Firefly FFST in the Black & Silver wood grain... She said it was okay, but she also told me that she's got a bigTEMU order ready to go in our shopping cart... 😎

    I really enjoyed this video . New subscriber 👍 . Nice playing . I love that guitar . At 57 I'm recently back into playing guitar after about a 25 year break . Almost starting from scratch again . But getting better every day .
    I still have my all original 1981 Hamer Special in sunburst . Almost like new ! I'm the original owner of it . I recently purchased a Square Sonic Telecaster and a Gretsch I believe G2655 thin line . I think that's the number ? Both not bad for the money . But this T7 is definitely in my future . Great job 👍 .

      Hey Dave, I'm going to be 61 this July, and I've layed down the guitar for a span of time too. The beauty of doing it now is that there's a whole different mindset. I'm more relaxed and being a grandfather I don't have that grandiose approach that probably hindered me from enjoying it then like I do now! God is good, all the time! Stay blessed! And BTW, I enjoyed your GoGun Gas Pedal video. My main carry pistol is a Glock43. I checked their website, and they have one for the 43X. That should fit the 43 also...? Cool product!

      @@RaymondLandis The gas pedals are really helpful . I have arthritis in my hands . It definitely helps with recoil . The only negative can be fitting into some types of holsters .

      @@RaymondLandis I have a few different gas pedals for different guns . My favorite one is on my SIG Sauer 226 SAO LEGION . It replace s the take down lever . So it goes right into that slot . It's really sleek and doesn't stick out that far but is very helpful .

    Thank's a lot for this detailed review ! Could you help : I'm into jazz and I hesitating between this very T7 and a proper Fender Tele, what do you advise?

    • @RaymondLandis
      @RaymondLandis  6 месяцев назад +1

      This Sire T7 is really nice and would be a great jazz guitar because it has those sweet humbucking pickups, but with an easy way to get access to that quacky single coil sound if you want to have it on reserve... (no nonsense switching). Sire put a great 2-point trem on this model also and it is very stable, and stays is really great tune. I think you'd be happy with it. the neck is super nice and has a 9.5 radius. Excellent for many types of music...

      Sorry to bother you again. Do you mean that I better choose the Sire T7 over a Fender Telecaster for jazz?

    Great video! Regarding the neck, would you say it feels slimmer or thicker than a Fender Modern C?

    • @RaymondLandis
      @RaymondLandis  9 месяцев назад +1

      I would say that the neck is very comparable with a modern C shaped neck profile... The spec says only "C" but I do like it a lot... It's very comfortable! Thanks for asking...

    Sorry for a stupid question - is this a transparent black or transparent black colour? I ask because transparent black is not really a black colour on the online shops pictures.
    Wanna buy this beauty, just a little bit hard to make up my mind, in terms of colour. :)

    • @RaymondLandis
      @RaymondLandis  9 месяцев назад +2

      Hey Man, I don't consider it a bad question at all... I wanted the blue at first, but they were backordered for months. I was miraculously offered this one by my sales engineer at Sweetwater (Ryan Murphy), because someone backed out of their order that had just arrived from the previous backorder (hahaha). When I saw these, I was thinking how beautiful they are. The name of the color (Transparent Black), and even mentioning the transparency is probably a marketing point. These are actually jet black on the back side with only a VERY VERY subtle BIT of grain showing through. Which I guess would qualify as transparency! The top is a veneer that is split at the center (very nicely done). The front edge is bound with a lighter color that matches the neck. But the front flame veneer is feathered to a darker shade as it approaches the binding... I hope that helps... I appreciate your question, and thanks for watching! Stay blessed!
