  • The Ford government is looking to move the Ontario Science Centre to Ontario Place from North York. It was described as "run down," but what is its current state? Nick Westoll went for a visit to see.

    It’s not run down!
They literally clean their own water and have their own hydro electric generator. When the black out happened they had power. I remember when it was free on Wednesday nights it was the best experience ever. We would hang out and at the short wave radio station while couples would tie the knot at the steps of the building. Science centre is a heritage building with history. I’m glad they upgraded the exhibits.
    Dont take that away.
Taking away more nostalgia from us? Sigh, it would just as bad as the native art works that were destroyed when they were fixing up the valley.
If your going to move it, you have to preserve what it stands for.
    What means to people.
And more help build the dreams that will make our little dreamers engineers, scientists and for a future we want to live in.
    It’s fine where it is.
    Doing what it does.
    Standing on guard for thee,
For Your history and your future.

Yes and they have a continuity facility they used to mention on guided tours.
The very Canadian Scientist and Candian companys and the Canadian Concerns always light years ahead of U?S?A? concern so the center was the site of many very classified science conventions.
A few of them I attended and cold nuclear fusion is an applied technology/
The concerns about plastics and this covid tech, all were told to never weapon make and those there from the u/s/a/ Airforce of course anything told to never do they force to make weapons as they were there in uniform and me in my harris tweed jacket.
When Science tells what never to do and such conventions are not obeyed, the u.s.a strayed from all and any good governence and the real reason why every war is occuring so they can experiment with what is known never to do.
Like feema, makes a problem occur then accuses any populus and being guilty is the false war actually real to experiment.
Children at the ontario science center are taught that polution is bad which it is and their military complexes and manufacturing pollute and expand their toxic belief that agent orange is and appropriate chemical to paint thier facilitys, also I know,
Me being and understanding that in this total surveillance state they cant charge you or false profile anyone.
Its like citizen rights to improve our world is right and good and isnt a polictical proxy deception.
When the CERN lhc Health and safety officer, the only one to have that power to order complete shut down of a facility because he knows is health sciences and was let go that day and that corporatocracy never wanting to face or recieve his report he filed with the world court.

I expect there is more to this story, like one of his developer friends was whispering in his ear. This came out of no where and unprompted.

Honestly, it would be better to close the ontario centre for a year and completly renovate it. The place is a gem.
However the main issue is what are they gonna build there instead if they plan to go ahead. A bunch of high rise condos? Its already a highly populated neighboorhood and underserved community and this would just exacerbate that issue

Designed by Canadian architect Raymond Moriyama is a globally recognized example of the brutalist style that enjoys a uniquely harmonious relationship with its wooded ravine site.
This place is absolutely beautiful. Generations of Ontarians would loose out if this property gets demolished and given to the filthy rich to build there homes. More importantly is
is its role in the local community and one that has been instrumental in providing educational programming for the large youth demographic of the area.

There's one section in particular that I always found striking, and that was walking along a walkway from which one had a clear view of the ravine. So I take this point about how the location and architecture of the site itself have value. The new location is gonna be a tourist trap focused more on profit and thrills than anything else :/

I think he is trying to send a more ominous message like an educated public is a threat to his absolute ignorance.
The entire Site is in a protected watershed and I have with my high school days we went to botanically study recoveyr of the river ecology.
What he cant do there is the charter of the Conservation laws and development restrictions beyond the legislature.
The Metropolitan conservation Authority Trumps his wants and desires,
After a hurricane which was an early manipulation by the HARP system to drive a destructive force to the Canadian Military Soveriegn companys and civillian population, my own grandmothers house floated down the Don river.
The Mosquitto plane facilty as well as Slumberger and the canadian tank and motorized unit develop[ment facilitys also were at this
      watershed.
Just as my familys Moffat facilitys were in the western watersheds area and had several military maufacturing companys also sovereign Canadian .
The Avro Company also Canadian and that The U?S?A? threatened to invade Canada to Defenbaker then.
The insurance suits and the protection of that site and all waterways after are still the authority.
My proffesional career was seviceing Canadas silicon Valley Toronto, years ahead of the U?S?A? which is why IBM Canada and Xerox were never American and superior r and d places and I was a beta site manager for many technolgys.
The Mc Donald Douglas Company in Canada was Canadian and the wings assembly manufacturing is a canadian origin.
Imagine how upset Chrechien was when our purchase of f18 planes was held and never delivered as American stated they were the only ones then to have rights to fly over Sovereign Canadian Air space.
This ongoing assault by the ignorant is still .ongoing.
Glad as always to educate the total surveillance state to a healthy outcome whatever that shall be or look like.

This is an architectural gem that should be preserved. There’s just so much space for exhibits and parking and the building beautifully showcases the nature scape outside. No parking at Ontario Place and you can be sure it will be a fraction of its present size and scope. It pains me no end to think how senseless and wasteful this is.
