Regarding oath that let's you bring 14 men into battle with drawback of wavering morale - it is the reason I like Spear Sergeant on this origin. You put Spear Sergeant at one formation end and banner at other for double rally to fix it quite fast. And if don't have that oath you still can use Spear Mastery vs Beasts/Orc Young while 2nd Rally/High Resolve fixes you vs Undead / Non oath related enemies. It is quite the toolbox that you always can just opt to not bring into some fights. Makes use of High Fatigue, Resolve broes with some Melee Skill who suffer in Melee Defence/Hp and is doable early in the game.
In the caravan guard fight, I agree with sins that my character was in a very dangerous position. Double grip spear and sword enemies are extremely dangerous early game, and I have lost plenty of characters to those enemy types. I would focus on eliminating the double grippers ahead of any shield guys.
i love how the chat said something about 20 Zeds and 6 geist being a challenge. a proper 12 man full gear crew should be able to at least fight 40+ orks or barbs.

Fast adaptation and a sword is very appropriate for me. Even in endgame fights I'll bring a guy double gripping a 1H sword.
