Bravo to ALL of the actors and actresses from a special school who performed in this play. It was really well performed. I enjoyed every minute of it. Even the band played wonderfully.

What a serendipitous little find. Some high school kids and their performance of West Side Story. There are enough excellent performances here to carry the whole show which is better than the sum of it's parts because it was such a good ensemble effort. I was even in tears in 2 or 3 places, and I know West Side Story backwards. There are a few differences from the movie, but I didn't care. It really was lovely. The girl who played Maria was excellent.
there should be a difference they are following the original broadway show the film made the prologue longer and cut out the ballet scene and swiched the officer krupke s and cool song

Yeah. The King's Academy, a school that has quite a # of musicals on RUclips lists their casts. I wish the cast was listed here. The young lady who played Maria has the magic. With hard work--more hard work, I suspect--she could be a star if she so wished.

I was on a Hairspray watching spree, decided to see if there's any West Side Story high school productions and this is really good. Their orchestra was amazing!! I'm kinda sad now that I never participated in theater during my high school years (I was a band kid lmao). And holy, that girl that plays Maria is AMAZING, her voice was so spectacular, especially this being a HIGH SCHOOL. She has an amazing voice.

I like how in the prologue Bernardo does a height comparasen with A-rab when they get caught by all the jets chasing anybodys and baby John 😂 (srry if I spelled stuff wrong English is not my first language)
Marni Nixon did a lot of that. Her first role was in the movie production of "The Sound of Music", she played one of the nuns, but not the Mother Abatis, as should have been.
This was a very good version! My school is doing this musical and i got the part Maria! I get to dye my hair brown and use self tanner to turn me into a Puerto Rican!💛
I hope there exists a better video recording of this production, as this video didn't even show the Sharks dancing near the latter half of the Dance at the Gym. It appears the videographer only wanted to capture what the Jets were doing on the stage. That was a big loss. I guess you get what you pay for.
This person needs to learn how to use cameras. Overall, it was okay... But some parts, they just kept swinging it around. Like I could tell they were trying to do a cool fade to change scenes, but this isn't a movie. It doesn't work here and it just looks awkward. Half the time they are focusing in on something that's not even important, like something on the sidelines, but you can't look at anything else because they're zoomed in super close.
So my high school is doing this show too, and whenever my cast is feeling down i show them this video to boost their confidence. so in summary i couldn't agree with you more. Although kudos to A-rab very good everything
Actually this show won multiple awards in very advanced CT theatre awards, in which schools who have been practicing for years lost. Also they were nominated for many awards as well. So... Really this is an award winning performance y'all are talking about, so it wasn't bad. I know this because I attended the award ceremony.

When I searched Worst West Side Story I was not expecting this to show up. But it did. It was very good in my standards.
