    I'm a little surprised that Convoy is still doing a button positive terminal on the driver. It was discovered to be a design error a few iterations ago. The mass of 21700 cells is high enough that this design will change modes when put down or shaken at all.

    The flashlight is demonstrated with an unprotected 21700 battery. I have a S21B that only works with an unprotected 21700 (plus the shorter 18650) but is not long enough to accommodate a protected 21700. It appears that the Ti is longer than the S21B so I am wondering if it can handle a protected 21700? (I was gifted a couple of Nitecore 21700 batteries that have USB charging, which is why I bought the S21B in the first place, and would like to buy a flashlight that will actually fit them.)

    • @FLASHAHOLIC_TV
      @FLASHAHOLIC_TV  23 дня назад

      S21G Ti is too short for The NITECORE NL2153HP protected 21700, It turns on but the tailcap won't fully tighten and you can't change levels

      Most flashlights are Chinese. Even companies from outside China making very tough lights like Armytek and Powertac have their factories in China. China are just about level on LED and battery tech too.

      TBH if you drop any reasonably priced flashlight (from any known serious company like Convoy, Sofirn, Lumintop, OLight, etc) from more than 2 meters nowadays they will be completely fine, however the battery will be another story... Even if the battery was fine after it, I would change it.
      It's like a person suferring a car accident, the safety belt will save the person, but you can bet that the person will not walk away without any sort of pain, or even it internal damage. Get the best flashlight you can think about it, you name it, drop from the highest it boasts you can, enjoy the battery that won't have much life left.
      I understood that when I saw someone test an Armytek that stated a 10 meters impact resistance. The flashlight resisted, it was completely fine, but the battery wasn't. It was fine for a few minutes, after that it started to swell up.
      So it doesn't matter if it's stated that you can drop from 2m all the way to 10m, we should just remember about physics and what will happen with things that are inside and that are not part of the structure or not fixed to it.
