  • 5 ball game.
Gottlieb Drop a Card replay version of the add a ball Pop a Card. Playfield and artwork are the same. Overall this is a very sought after game, and this one is in very nice shape. Glass is good, playfiled is excellent, and cabinet shows typical bumps and bruises. Fully working & for sale.

My buddy from high school, Mitch and I used to hitch hike from Belmont, CA to San Carlos on the El Camino to play this machine and a few others at San Carlos Billiards back in the early 70's. Man, I miss those days.

Indeed, 3 games for a quarter and 5 balls no less, great times, and I was doing similar as far as pigging on that particular game. My specific era for playing this game was the first 3 months of 1972. I was 6 or 7 months out of high school then.

I used to play this game till my hands cramped up when I was a kid. I found one yesterday at the pinball museum in Alameda Ca. and played the hell out of it. It was in great shape, but the flippers couldn't get the ball to the top targets. this one seems very strong in that department.A great old machine for sure

One of my earliest pinball memories, playing this game at my grandparents' bar. This was the early 70s, they had frequent changes to 1 pinball game, 1 bowling game (ball or puck), a pool table, an electromechanical video game, and later an air hockey game. When I worked at a video game parlor later I was impressed with the similarities, though the age difference meant people smoked marijuana rather than drink alcohol.

I agree to some extent, as I too grew up on 3" flipper games.
The 2" flippers play nice with orange dot, or yellow dot coils. Another option is what the prior owner did and that is to install a bridge rectifier for the flippers, and slings. Takes away from the originality, but brings the performace closer to 3" flipper games.

It has standard flipper coils, however the prior owner rectified the slings & flippers. I was going to take them off but it plays so nice with them on I decided not to.

Introduced November 1971 from what I read. I would had thought earlier, especially since the score reel is only four digits.

    Good game & good score!
My high score in that game is 2,666 points.

I don't think I could get used to the 2" flippers as I grew up playing the 3" (late 70's/early 80's). These older machines seem to drain a lot down the side outlanes.

Plays nice. What kind of flipper coils do you have in it?
How about the sling-shot coils? Are they a stronger coil, or did you unwind them some?

Very hard table if you're not getting the bounce
