Normally it's a firmware issue. But I have two ways of fixing this. First watch my recent video. There is a program I introduce to format SD cards and other storage devices . The program name is Drevitalize. You can use that program to fix your issue. But before you can initiate the format for the drive, your computer will be lagging but you will still have access to format but it will take a long while. So if you are ready to be patient to fix this then you will get it sorted out. Download and install the drevialise programs, chose your pen drive from the list and use the scan and repair - write test. Please note this will delete all files on the flash drive. But if you need the files on the drive then use scan and repair - read test rather but sometimes this doesn't fix the problem but rather scan and repair - write test. Did you try the standard way by not grounding any reset pin in test mode. First of all i need to see how the flash drive looks like. This process is normally for phone flashing , hard drive or SSD flashin or resting or similar gadgets that use other additional specialized equipment that will connect to it before you can proceed with the flashing or unlocking process. For example if you are using a professional data recovery device, this is needed to pass through a back door to gain security access to perform an action. But not directly with a computer. So please brother can you give me further details. If the first chip mp tool is not detecting the flash drive normally then it means the firmware is incompatible and you need to search for another one.
@saforotech8552 ok I will test without grounding reset pin even though Windows didn't detect and see if the First chip MP tool can see it. I used chip genius to determine the controller number but will double check. Not at the office now. Also it's a generic USB Flash Drive that died. I think it somehow corrupted the firmware since technically it shows up in test mode in diskmgmt. It just doesn't show a partition (no media) so I will test in normal mode and get back with you. Go to your hard drive manufacturer and go to support. But please note that hard drive manufacturers do not give firmware updates for all hard drives. They only give it commonly known drive failure firmwares. Alternatively you can get the firmware bin file but for that you need to remove the firmware chip which normally a 8 leg ic which is located on your hard drive PCB.from there you can use a bios programmer to reflash the chip. When the controller part number is unknown then the last option is to disassemble your flash drive and get the controller part number directly from the chip that is if the flash drive is the standard type. Thanks brother

My pendrive of 16GB doesnt show up nor can i find its software, could anyone help please. It shows as "2303PRAM USB Device". Controller Vendor is shown as Phison. and controller part number is PS2251-03(PS2303) - F/W 01.01.10 [2012-04-09]

You can't fix this pen drive. SanDisk does not give the firmware flash tool.
